[WATCH] D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser Defends Dave Chappelle In Transgender Controversy

Screen Shot 2021 10 16 at 6.17.23 AM

As Dave Chapelle continues to be the eye of the storm in the middle of the LGBTQ community and Netflix following the controversy behind his new comedy special The Closer, his loyal fanbase unapologetically supports him and some of those fans are in the political arena.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has publicly defended her support of Chappelle, despite the fact that supporters of the LGBTQ community who are against Chappelle have asked her to rescind Chappelle’s key to the city

“I haven’t considered rescinding the key to the city, and I regard Dave as a friend and as an artist who is a genius,” Bowser said. “Dave has been having this conversation with the trans community for a long time. But you would be, and I don’t think you would understand the whole show, I’m not sure you’ve seen it if you didn’t also understand some of his other commentary about race.”

The decision made by the family of Zaya Wade to support her as she continues to find herself should be celebrated widely, but many on the outside are choosing the opposite. Rapper 50 Cent posted an offensive meme featuring the NBA legend and R. Kelly sitting next to one another that applied an unfunny joke at Zaya’s expense.

“LOL NOW THIS SOME FUNNY SH*T.” 50 Cent wrote in the caption for the meme, which features Kelly and D Wade sitting next to one another from a 2016 photo at New York Fashion Week. Conservation bubbles appear above their heads that read as follows.

“Heard you had a daughter now,” Kelly says via his bubble. “U touch her I’ll kill ya,” Wade says in his.

Not surprisingly, many of Fif’s followers chimed in with words of support and to further attempt to drag young Zaya and the Wade family down. Here is where we remind you that 50 Cent will be 45 years old this summer.

We would post the meme but we’d rather not dignify the ignorance.

Boosie Badazz is having himself a struggle-filled week, this after he added his unasked opinion about Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Zaya Wade, and the decision she’s making for her life. The Louisiana rapper claims that a manager of a Planet Fitness turned him away due to those comments and Twitter is frying Lil Boosie.

Taking to Instagram, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper can be heard in a video from a smartphone expressing his disdain with the gym chain, stating that Planet Fitness is racist and folks shouldn’t support the business.

“Do not go to Planet Fitness, they racist, they haters. They just put me out Planet Fitness for what I said about Dwyane Wade son,” Boosie said while inside his vehicle taping the video. “And they said I said in a video one of they employees was f*ggots or some sh*t.”

In the Instagram caption, Boosie added, “MANAGER WHO WAS GAY REFUSED TO LET ME N PLANET FITNESS BECAUSE OF MY PAST ACTIONS ON SOCIAL MEDIA ABOUT GENDER ETC.”

As it stands, Planet Fitness began trending on Twitter and fans have been roasting Boosie since the post went up. Of course, the rapper has folks who stand with him regarding his transphobic comments but mostly, it’s just folks largely frying him for his comments and the fact he works out at the affordable fitness center.

Boosie joins fellow rapper Young Thug in offering comments about young Zaya Wade’s personal life decision that they were not asked for. We’ve been scouring Twitter for the best replies to this current video posting and we’ve got them all listed below.

Twitter Calls Out Transphobia & Homophobia In Wake Of Dwight Howard Scandal

Cleveland Cavaliers v Washington Wizards

Dwight Howard has found himself the center of a controversy involving a man that he was in a relationship with if allegations are true. The news has sparked a number of memes and jokes at the Washington Wizards center’s expense as expected but also revealed an ugly flood of transphobic and homophobic comments that many on Twitter are calling out.

To bring everything up to the present, Masin Elijè, who some have incorrectly called a transgender woman, outed Howard for his sexual preferences and for allegedly attending parties where transgender women frequent. With a string of text conversations and phone calls, Elijè revealed from her side how their relationship went sour but what has gone overlooked is that he alleges that Howard was arranging to have him killed to keep the secrets from spilling out.

Twitter got their jokes off because that’s just how it is nowadays but after the dust settled, many began noticing how rampant transphobia and homophobia and its hateful rhetoric saw an uptick. Folks such as W. Kamau Bell and sportswriter Dave Zirin all chimed in on that fact, while others are artfully noting that very few people on Twitter are talking about the fact that Howard possibly tried to have someone killed.

We’ve collected some of the responses from Twitter below.

Transphobic Meme Posted To Cardi B’s FB Page, Rapper Denies Doing So

2018 MTV Video Music Awards - Arrivals

Source: WENN.com / WENN

Cardi B is in the hot seat with LGBT community after a meme was posted to her Facebook page that took a nasty left turn. Using the current meme trend of Rolf from Ed, Ed n Eddy, the image featured a transphobic slur but the “Bodak Yellow” star claims she did not post the meme.

TMZ reports:

The meme in question is a highly edited screen grab of Rolf from the show “Ed, Edd n Eddy” looking out of a window. A caption on the meme reads … “I hope nobody see this tr***y leave my house.” It was posted on Cardi’s official FB Sunday with laughing emojis above … but has since been deleted.

Cardi later tweeted out an explanation, saying a former team member has been the only one with access to the account for the past year and a half. She also says that her current official Facebook page is an old account — but there aren’t any other profiles of hers with a blue checkmark.

The outlet adds that Cardi has used the slur in times past and apologized for doing so.
