Watch Donald Glover and Rihanna’s ‘Guava Island’ Trailer

Donald Glover and Rihanna were spotted shooting a secret film project in Cuba in August.

While many questions surround the mysterious film, Glover previewed a teaser of their cinematic collaboration during his PHAROS Festival in New Zealand over the weekend.

Footage from the movie, which is reportedly titled Guava Island, was uploaded to social media by a fan (via Billboard). It opens with Glover singing and playing guitar as his girlfriend, played by Rihanna, enters the room. Things escalate from there and Glover’s character is seen running through the village before eventually being taken hostage.

“What’s wrong with me is that we live in paradise but none of us have the time or the means to actually live here,” he says at one point.

The film, directed by Hiro Murai (“This Is America” and “3005”), also stars Black Panther‘s Letitia Wright and Nonso Anozie. The trailer arrives after photos of the two on the set were posted in August.

The trailer was shown as part of Gambino’s PHAROS festival, which kicked off in Auckland on Nov. 23. The three-day virtual reality experience debuted at Joshua Tree, Calif. in September.

Glover postponed the remaining dates on his “This Is America Tour” after suffering a foot injury earlier this year. He will return to the U.S. for the rescheduled shows, starting Dec. 2 in Nashville, Tenn.

Watch the Trailer for Lifetime’s ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ Docuseries

R. Kelly’s controversial past is coming to Lifetime next year.

Multiple women come forward about sexual, mental, and physical abuse accusations against the R&B icon as part of the six-hour docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly.” The first trailer (via Rolling Stone) offers a preview into the traumatic three-part investigation.

“There’s a difference between R. Kelly and Robert,” says one unidentified woman. “R. Kelly’s this fun, laughing, loving guy. But Robert is the devil.”

The two-minute clip addresses the lawsuits, charges, and claims against the 51-year-old singer, who is described as a “monster” and “puppet master.” “There’s a difference between R. Kelly and Robert. R. Kelly’s this fun, laughing, loving guy,” says another woman. “But Robert…is the devil.”

“Surviving R. Kelly” includes over 50 interviews with John Legend, singer Sparkle, Wendy Williams, and civil rights activist Tarana Burke, as well as Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly, ex-girlfriend Kitti Jones, and brothers Carey and Bruce.

“I should have never introduced her to him,” says an emotional Sparkle while speaking about her niece, but denies she ever took money to buy her silence. “I didn’t take the money, because I can’t be bought. He ain’t a monster by himself, it took some help.”

“Surviving R. Kelly” will air in three installments from Jan. 3-5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Watch a Trailer for the Eminem-Produced Battle Rap Movie ‘Bodied’

Eminem is headed back to the big screen.

The 8 Mile star serves as producer of the upcoming battle rap movie Bodied, which offers a hilarious look inside the competitive world of rap battles. Berkeley graduate student Adam Merkin (Calum Worthy) becomes an unlikely battle rapper after meeting veteran battle rapper Behn Grym (Jackie Strong) and accidentally winning his first battle. On his road to victory, he ends up alienating his friends, girlfriend, and father.

Directed by Joseph Kahn, and co-produced by Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg, the R-rated film also stars Debra Wilson, Dumbfoundead, Anthony Michael Hall, Rory Uphold, and Charlamagne Tha God.

The movie has been well received by critics so far. RogerEbert.com said it “offers an entertaining window into a culture that most people probably know very little about,” while The Globe and Mail called it “an outrageous and outrageously entertaining treatise on cultural sensitivity.”

Bodied hits select theaters on Nov. 2 and YouTube Premium on Nov. 28. Watch the red-band trailer below.
