Don’t Bet On Toronto Raptors Making White House Visit Because, Obviously

The Toronto Raptors brought an NBA title to Canada, exciting an entire country and a rapper named Drake. The team will surely be meeting with the nation’s Prime Minister, but a customary visit to the White House isn’t a lock.

The reasons are beyond obvious, but count Donald Trump being an unrepentant racist and divisive kook among them. Just ask the Golden State Warriors.

According to The Globe and Mail, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse confirmed the team is in talks with Justin Trudeau.

However, while detailing said talks, he pretty much confirmed Cheeto is likely going to get curved.

“Definitely the Trudeau meeting, because they have been asking me about scheduling it,” Nurse reportedly told Toronto radio station Sportsnet 590 The Fan on Wednesday (June 19).

He added, “I have heard nothing about the White House. We are Canada’s team anyway, right?”

Bank on Donald Trump not bothering to an extend an invite to save face on being declined, and probably via Twitter.

A meeting with Trudeau would surely be more epic anyway.

Numerous Boston Red Sox Curving Donald Trump White House Visit

The Boston Red Sox won the last World Series, which naturally means a White House visit. However, a number of Red Sox players will be skipping on visiting the house that Donald Trump is ruining, for obvious reasons.

Reports Deadspin:

The Red Sox wrap up a road trip in Baltimore this week, but won’t all be heading back to Boston together. The team is running two separate charter flights, one going home on Wednesday, after the final game of the series, and one on Thursday, an off-day. The second is to accommodate the players, coaches, and executives who will be attending a White House ceremony for the defending champs; the first is for all those who are pointedly skipping the meeting with President Trump. It remains to be seen which flight will be fuller.

Perhaps the biggest story is Red Sox manager Alex Cora skipping the trip. A native of Puerto Rico, he figures not showing up will do more to bring attention to Trump’s ill-treatment of the island in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

We respect it.

CNN’s Jim Acosta Has Hard Press Pass Returned, Stunts A Little Bit

CNN's Jim Acosta Returns To The White House After Court Orders White House To Reinstate His Press Pass

The ongoing saga between President Donald Trump and the media took an extreme left turn when the White House snatched the press credentials of CNN correspondent Jim Acosta. A federal judge ordered the return of the press pass and Acosta is letting the world know just how bogus that situation was.

Deadline reports:

“We are gratified with this result and we look forward to a full resolution in the coming days,” CNN and its Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta said in a prepared statement issued moments after prevailing with TRO bid in U.S. District Court.

“Our sincere thanks to all who have supported not just CNN, but a free, strong and independent American press,” CNN and Acosta said after a federal judge told Donald Trump’s White House to immediately restore Acosta’s press badge.

Expect Acosta to report from the White House today, CNN said. This though Acosta was scheduled to be on vacation.

White House yanked Acosta’s badge after he refused to hand over a microphone at President Donald Trump’s unhinged morning-after-midterms White House presser, continuing to pepper POTUS with pronouncements and questions, while an intern struggled in vain to snatch the microphone from his hand.

CNN sued the White House and several key Trump aides this week, claiming CNN and Acosta’s First and Fifth Amendment rights had been violated.

Acosta was outside the courtroom and said he’s ready to get back to work after thanking the judge.

Let’s see if in the coming weeks that the White House will ignite a clash with Acosta once more.
