Stripper Who Fell Off 15′ Pole Announces Retirement

The exotic dancer that went viral after falling 15-feet from a pole before continuing her routine has officially retired.

According to TMZ, Genea Sky is no longer going to be stripping after the viscous fall, because her fall and the injuries she suffered have her scared to step on stage again. Dubbed as the “bounce back stripper” Sky went viral after she crashed face-first from the pole and barely missed a beat — twerking on the flashing floor despite the horrific fall.

The short clip, which has racked up millions of views on social media since Sunday, doesn’t capture the injuries that Genea Sky described later during her live video via Instagram. According to a tearful Sky she suffered broken teeth, a sprained ankle, stitches, and a busted jaw that needed surgery.

“I’m going to be okay,” she said. “It’s just a really humbling experience to just be alive.”

After the terrifying clip went viral, a GoFundMe page was launched to assist in funding her recovery shined the light on a broader reality that strip club dancers often treated as “contractors” without rights to workers’ compensation, health-care benefits and other protections afforded to employees. According to the Washington Post, the friend behind the fundraiser revealed that the strip club that employed Sky would not cover her medical costs fo her injuries due to the incident putting her out of work for “an extended period of the time.”

Eric Langan, the CEO of RCI Hospitality Holding Inc., which owns XTC Cabaret in Dallas, told TMZ states that strip clubs are not liable for dancers injuries because they create and choreograph their own routines before noting that he did not tell her to climb the pole and the club has no plans to remove them; but Langan says they are planning to help Sky financially as she recovers.

As Sky’s injuries draw attention online, the aspiring beautician has assured people that she is recovering. On Monday, she posted a picture of herself in a hospital bed, eyes closed and giving a thumbs-up: Her jaw was wired shut, she said, but the surgery had gone well.

“It has been a very long day. My surgery went well. My jaw is currently wired shut so please refrain from calling me as of right now and bare with me on replies because my phone hasn’t stopped blowing up,” Genea Sky wrote. “Everyone’s love & kind words have not gone unnoticed whatsoever and it means so much to me that all of you have blessed me and uplifted me in so many ways. I am overwhelmed in the best way by all the support. I was really nervous as this all started blowing up because people are cruel and this is a very sensitive time for me. But I never imagined so many people would stand behind me in a situation like this and that has outweighed all the negativity by far. I am beyond grateful for you all. I am in a tremendous amount of pain but i am ready for this road to recovery so I can get back to my life. I will continue to update everyone over the course of my recovery but thank you once again for EVERYTHING 🙏🏽

Strip Club Exec Beckons Kanye West Bring Sunday Service To His Shake Joint

Celebrity Sightings In New York City - November 07, 2019

Kanye West and his Sunday Service has attracted a new audience and he wants the next event to be held at his establishment.

According to Complex, New York strip club executive Andrew Zarian has put an offer out there that he is hoping Yesus can’t refuse after Kanye’s remarks comparing strip clubs to sex trafficking this past weekend.

“They got posters advertising sex trafficking because if there’s an advertisement for a strip club, that is advertising sex trafficking,” West told the congregation. “At the end of the night, when they close up, the manager says, ‘How much traffic do we have?’”

Zarian, who owns the gentleman’s club Sapphire located on 39thStreet in New York City’s midtown, extended an invitation to West following the Jesus Is King rapper’s appearance at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, which he later shared to Twitter.

“I saw you recently brought your Sunday Service inside Harris County Jail and the Baker Street Jail in Houston,” Zarian wrote. “You followed that up by bringing the Sunday Service to Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church and delivered a powerful message in your signature stream of consciousness style, making several… interesting… statements throughout.”

In regards to why he chose to extend an invite, Zarian noted that it was Kanye’s “affinity” to strip clubs that made him shoot the offer.

“Given your affinity for adult entertainment, we wanted to extend you an offer to deliver your free faith-filled concert in a new venue and to a new audience of Gentlemen’s Club entertainers, service staff, and more,” Zarian continued in the letter. “We’d love to open the doors to our…location…and have you and your choir grace us with your presence.”

For those doubting the seriousness of Zarian’s proposal, the strip club owner makes it clear that he is definitely pitching a serious offer adding that this is an excellent opportunity for him to witness; reminding Yeezy that it was because of his own admitted addiction to adult entertainment that he turned to God.

“Zarian also submitted to Yeezy and his team that this is an excellent opportunity for him to witness. The strip club head honcho reminded the rap star turned evangelist, that it was because of his addiction to adult entertainment that he turned to God.”

70s Era Stripper ‘ Tanqueray’ Steals The Spotlight In Latest ‘Humans of New York’ Series

The ‘Humans of New York’ series on social media has been captivating readers with the unique stories of real New Yorkers for more than nine years but none kept fans wanting more like their latest three-part feature.

On Monday (Nov. 18) the first story from the colorful Black woman, an ex-stripper who goes by the name Tanqueray, hit the web, detailing her glamorous life during the 70’s and instantly left people asking that her viral story be turned into a movie or a memoir.

From tales of “making costumes for strippers and porn stars in Times Square” while at FIT to having tea about the sexual escapades of an unnamed former president; Taqueray has everyone hooked—including a few big names in Hollywood.

“My mom threw me out of the house at seventeen for getting pregnant, then had me arrested when I tried to get my clothes. Then she f**ked the head of parole to try to keep me in jail. She was some prime p***y back then. But the warden did some tests on me and found out I was smart, so I got a scholarship to go anywhere in New York. I chose the Fashion Institute of Technology, which I hated,” Taqueray said.

Despite being unhappy with the career selection, the blunt elder revealed that the choice led to her being around some of the most fabulous people and influential circles.

“By that time I was already getting work making costumes for the strippers and porn stars in Times Square. All my friends were gay people, because they never judged me. All I did was gay bars: drag queen contests, Crisco Disco, I loved the whole scene. And I couldn’t get enough of the costumes. My friend Paris used to sit at the bar and sell stolen clothes from Bergdorf and Lord and Taylors, back before they had sensor tags. So I had the best wardrobe: mink coats, 5 inch heels, stockings with seams up the back. I looked like a drag queen, honey. One night a Hasidic rabbi tried to pick me up because he thought I was a tranny. I had to tell him: ‘Baby, this is real fish!”

The second installment featured her detail in her life as a stripper during a time when Black people, especially women were severely underpaid-noting that she was the only Black woman making money on the same scale as a white woman.

“My stripper name was Tanqueray,” she continued. “Back in the seventies I was the only black girl making white girl money. I danced in so many mob clubs that I learned Italian. Black girls weren’t even allowed in some of these places. Nothing but guidos with their pinky rings and the one long fingernail they used for cocaine. I even did a full twenty minutes in the place they filmed Saturday Night Fever. But I made my real money on the road. Three grand on some trips. Every time Fort Dix had their pay day, they’d bring me in as a feature and call me ‘Ms. Black Universe’ or some sh*t like that.”

But nothing prepared fans for the final entry in her series where Tanqueray discusses the time she “turned a trick” for one of the most connected madams in New York City, Madam Blanche.

“I never turned tricks. Well, except for one time,” Tanqueray said. “I took a job from this woman named Madame Blanche. She controlled all the high dollar prostitutes back then. She was like the Internet– could get you anything you wanted. And all the powerful men came to her because she never talked. She set me up with a department store magnate who wanted a black girl dressed like a maid. I thought I could do it. But when I got to his hotel room, he wanted to spank me with a real belt. So that was it for me. I was done. But Madame Blanche set my best friend Vicki up with The President every time he came to New York. And don’t you dare write his name cause I can’t afford the lawyers. But he’d always spend an hour with her. He’d send a car to pick her up, bring her to his hotel room, put a Secret Service agent in front of the door, and get this: all he ever did was eat her p*ssy!”

The fascinating tale left fans petitioning for networks like BET and Netflix to adapt her life story into a film, even actress Jennifer Garner chimed in saying, “Why is this not a [Netflix] series?”

But I never used dildos on stage or any shit like that. Never fucked the booking agents. Never fucked the clients. In fact, one night after a show, I caught another dancer sneaking off to the Tate Hotel with our biggest tipper. Not allowed. So the next night we put a little itching powder in her G-string. Boy did she put on a show that night. Didn’t see her again until ‘The Longest Yard’ with Burt Reynolds. So I guess she finally fucked the right one.”

“The scene was different back then. All the adult clubs were mob controlled. It all flowed up to some guy named Matty The Horse. Honestly the mob guys never bothered me. They were cool, and I liked how they dressed. They wore custom made suits. And they went to hair stylists, not barbers. These guys wouldn’t even let you touch their hair when you were fucking them. Not that I ever fucked them. Because I never turned tricks. Well, except for one time. I took a job from this woman named Madame Blanche. She controlled all the high dollar prostitutes back then. Black Mississippi Strippers Awarded $3M In Workplace Discrimination Case

In the state capital of Jackson in Mississippi, five Black strippers were awarded $3.3 million in a workplace discrimination case. The women argued that their working conditions were far worse than that of their white counterparts.

The Independent reports:

Five African-American strippers have been awarded more than $3m (£2.36m) by a Mississippi jury after a judge ruled the women were forced to work in worse conditions than their white colleagues.

The women were awarded the damages following a year-long case against Danny’s Downtown Cabaret in Jackson, the state’s capital, which was sued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

The commission, which challenges workplace discrimination, said the club limited when black women could work and fined them $25 when they missed a shift. It alleged the white strippers were not subjected to those fines and were given flexible schedules.

The club was also accused of forcing black strippers to work at another Jackson establishment with lower pay and worse security, while Danny’s manager allegedly used a racial slur against a black dancer.

The lawyer for Danny’s is hoping to get the award reduced and if that effort fails, he promised to file an appeal.
