The LOX, Dipset and State Property Announce “The Rap Superheroes Tour”

Rap Superheroes Tour

The Rap Superheroes Tour featuring your favorite rappers favorite rappers.

After the rap groups, The LOX and The Diplomats collaborated on probably the best Verzuz battle thus far, the two legendary New York rap groups agreed to do a small joint city tour.

That’s right, they’re bringing that same energy we saw live on the road. They’re calling it “The Rap Superheroes Tour”, which will also feature the Hip-Hop group State Property.

The tour kicks off September 16 in Atlanta, Georgia, before hitting cities such as Houston, Chicago, St. Louis, before concluding on October 1 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Even though we saw an intense battle between Dipset and The LOX, Styles P ensured that there is no beef, it’s just all for the love of Hip-Hop.

“We are two groups from the heart of New York, we love the streets.” said Styles P. “We said we gon’ make this a show for y’all, we respect young rappers, old rappers, the whole sh*t. We just wanna show y’all the competitiveness of New York.”

Well fans will all remember the last time Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch shared the stage with Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and Freekey Zekey, now adding Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Peedi Peedi, Young Gunz and Omillo Sparks will make it even more epic.

Check out “The Rap Superheroes Tour” schedule:

September 16 ― Atlanta, Georgia (Gas South District)
September 17 ― Orlando, Florida (Addition Financial Arena)
September 21 ― Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Baton Rouge River Center)
September 23 ― Austin, Texas (HEB Center)
September 25 ― Houston, Texas (NRG Arena)
September 30 ― Chicago, Illinois (Credit Union 1 Arena)
October 1 ― Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Miller High Life Theater)

This is a win for Hip-Hop. Which city will you be checking in from?

Today In Hip Hop History: Cam’Ron Turns Down VP Position At Roc-A-Fella Records 18 Years Ago

shutterstock image 20 750x375 1

On this date in 2002, when Cam and his Dipset crew were just rookies on the label themselves, Roc-A-Fella co-founder Dame Dash offered his Uptown cohort a cool half a milli to ride shotgun under the ever-ascending Roc umbrella, but the Dipset capo wasn’t easily impressed by the offer that Roc-A-Fella star artist and co=founder Jay-Z knew nothing about.

After dropping his debut album Come Home With Me and signing his own group, The Diplomats, to the Roc imprint, Cam and labelmates State Property led Roc-A-Fella to an apex met by few in this genre of music. Dipset and State Property, powered by State Property’s Chain Gang albums, Juelz Santana’s From Me to UFreeway’s debut Philadelphia Freeway, The Diplomats’ group debut album Diplomatic Immunity, the State Property and Paid In Full movies, made Roc-A-Fella a household name.

During Jay-Z and Dame Dash’s in -house rift after Jay-Z’s proposed “retirement”, Dame offered Mr. Cameron Giles the Vice President chair of the label. The standing offer was $500K to take the position, however, after Dame allegedly turned down Killa’s offer, the deal never happened and Jay-Z ended up as the shark fed by the food from the other fishes’ bellies.

After the impending split caused by the sale of Roc-A-Fella to Island Def Jam, Jay-Z was handpicked to be CEO and President of Def Jam Recordings, giving him the other half of the Roc not already purchased by Island Def Jam Music Group.

Happy Birthday Beanie Sigel!

Born on this date in 1974 in the City of Brotherly Love, Dwight Grant aka Beanie Sigel aka Beans morphed into a icon in the Philly Hip Hop scene as the leader of the now defunct Roc-A-Fella Records’ State Property. Even with all of his legal troubles and the untimely split of the Roc, Beanie is still regarded as one of the best emcees of his era and one of the very few who lives what he speaks in the booth.

With six solo albums, three State Property collabos and four silver screen blockbuster appearances, it’s difficult to argue that Beans has not had a successful career. Anyone who was able to hold Hova’s attention for more than one album has some obvious skills to match his street bravado.

Happy born day to Beans and many more in the future!

Today In Hip-Hop History: Jay-Z Drops His ‘The Dynasty: Roc La Familia’ LP 19 Years Ago

On this date at the turn of the millennium, Jay-Z and his Rocafella cohorts released the only crew album of his career, The Dynasty: Roc La Familia.

Along with Memphis Bleek and the State Property clan from Philly including Peedi Crack, Beanie Sigel, Oschino, Sparks, Freeway and others, Hov brought the supergroup energy to this album that was seen as the pinnacle of Jay’s career; right before his Blueprint metamorphosis, which was the beginning of the mogul he is today.

Even with all of the star power on the album, there were still some stand out tracks on the LP exclusively released on the infamous Rocafella imprint including the Neptunes-produced ‘I Just Want To Love U(Give It To Me)”, the controversial “Guilty Until Proven Innocent” featuring the trouble-ridden R. Kelly and the old Kanye-produced “This Can’t Be Life” featuring Beanie and Geto BoysScarface. With additional production from the likes of Just Blaze, Rockwilder, Rick Rock and others, this album is one of Jigga’s standout projects of his illustrious career.

Salute to Jay, Biggs, Dame, Bleek and the rest of the Roc for this piece of Hip-Hop History!!
