50 Cent Continues to Send Shots At Starz Over ‘Power Book IV: Force’

Earlier this month, TV mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson seemed very incensed with his situation with the STARZ network and threatened to pull his top-rated Power Universe series from the network if they didn’t give his show some priority because of its high ratings. This weekend, Fif shared a TikTok on IG showing a committed fan mad about the show’s slow roll out.

The video post’s caption read, “I have 4 more episodes of FORCE, then I don’t have anything airing on STARZ for six months so y’all know the vibes.” The man in the video shouted, “What you mean no shows for six months!?” 50 added, “FORCE is the highest rated premier of any show on the network. when they take too long to green light it, it pushes the production time line back. after tonight’s episode there are 3 left, April 10 it’s a wrap. Then 6 months till i have anything new.”

The issues with STARZ hit the surface at the beginning of the month, saying “They suck, my deal is up and I’m out.”. He added, “Hold my calls i’m traveling,” he wrote alongside a photo of a couple of suitcases. “Getting the fvck away from STARZ. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi. Anil get your fvcking bag’s in the car now, we are out of here, take that fvcking sign off the door no more G-unit film and television over here.”

Screen Shot 2022 03 02 at 9.20.23 AM

With all the success 50 Cent and the STARZ Network has seen with the Power series and Power Universe, one would assume that the connection between producer and network would be a smooth one but that’s certainly not the case with Fif and STARZ.

I na surprising post blasting the network, 50 posted, “This is me packing my stuff, STARZ 😵🍆Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest-rated show they have sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here. you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus. 🚌 He ended the post with, “Hold my calls i’m traveling, 🏃‍♂️💨 getting the f**k away from STARZ.”

‘Power’ Showrunner Courtney Kemp Talks #WhoShotGhost Plus Twitter Reactions To The Mid-Season Finale

Executive Producer Courtney A. Kemp attends the Power Final...

The first stretch of Power’s sixth and final season has come to an end, and, of course, people have questions about what they witnessed. The show’s creator, Courtney Kemp spoke to Deadline about the mid-season finale and the cliffhanger that left Power watchers scratching their heads.

We are in full-blown spoiler territory now, so you have been warned. During last night’s mid-season finale, we saw our favorite drug dealer trying to go legit catch a bullet. This all happened as Ghost was more close than ever of achieving his ultimate goal of being a legit businessman and possibly Lieutenant Governor of NYC. The show left viewers wondering if it was either his son Riq, brother turned nemesis Tommy, ex-wife Tasha, snitch Dre, disgraced district attorney Saxe, or Councilman Tate who pulled the trigger.

When asked by the publication about the “Who Shot J.R.” (Google it) cliffhanger moment that probably left Ghost for dead, Kemp was cautious not to reveal his fate.

Shot, I didn’t say killed.

Deadline tried to squeeze more information on Ghost’s fate but was unsuccessful. Kemp responded :

I’m not saying anything. I’m confirming nothing. I’m just…he was clearly shot. I’m not going to say anything else.

According to Omari Hardwick’s Instagram account, you get the vibe that his character did, in fact, die.

But again, Kemp made sure to point out that Hardwick will also be in the remaining five episodes when Power returns January 5, 2020.

“All I can say is that he’s in the last five episodes.”

This is POWER! #MJBTypeSummer

Season six of Power is set to premiere in August. According to Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming at Starz, the story lines will be developed even further during this final set of episodes. “Season 6 brings us to the end of what we know is just the first chapter of the Power story. However, as one chapter comes to an end, another will begin,” Zlotnik explained. “Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent have created a world rich with complex and dynamic characters and there are a number of stories we plan to tell as we continue to explore and expand the Power universe.”

Also announced during the TCA session, Power season six will be broadcast in two parts. The 10-episode Part I will debut as previously announced on Sunday, August 25th. Part II, which will consist of the final five episodes, will debut in January.

50 Cent Teases That ‘Power’ Will Return After Season 6

Power Season 6 Key Art

Source: Starz / Starz

Just when we thought Ghost’s story was about to come to a close 50 Cent throws us a curve ball. He is hinting that this might not be the final season.

As spotted on Complex the Queens native sent Power fans into a frenzy with one of his recent social media posts. On Tuesday, June 25 Fofty teased on Instagram that this might not be the final season at all. I Changed my mind POWER is not going to be over after season 6. This sh*t is to good 🤦‍♂️#lecheminduroi #bransoncognac #starzplay”.

Naturally this came to everyone as a surprise including co-creator Courtney A. Kemp. Sadly she stayed ten toes down on her original statement that season six will be indeed the final run for the crime drama but some characters might see some spin-off action. “But we will play with your expectations of which characters, where, and the master timeline of it all, creating a Power universe as unpredictable as the original.”

‘Power’ Crew Member Hit By SUV Dies, Show Shuts Down Production

Starz 'Power' Premiere - After Party

Source: Bryan Bedder / Getty

A production assistant for the hit cable series Power was struck by a vehicle in the early morning hours Monday (Dec. 10) and has died. Pedro Jimenez, who has been a parking assistant with the show since 2014, was 63.

Deadline reports:

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family,” a Starz spokesperson told Deadline of the death of the 63-year old Parking PA. “Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.”

Jimenez has been with the series since its first day of production. Power debuted in 2014.

NYPD officials say they are investigating the incident and have spoken to the driver of the 2006 Ford Explorer that hit Jimenez. The driver was also a member of the Power crew, I’ve learned.

In the midst of the filming for the upcoming season of the drama series created by Courtney Kemp and executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Power has temporally shut down production. The move is out of respect for the family of Jimenez, which was informed of his death almost immediately after he was pronounced dead by medical authorities at Brooklyn Hospital this morning.

None of the Power actors were on set during the accident. The outlet adds that production was halted to give crew members and the cast time to grieve the loss.
