SZA’s Racial Incident Forces SEPHORA Stores To Close

Top Dawg Entertainment’s SZA is out here proving the power of social media. The crooner’s recent tweet about getting racially profiled at a SEPHORA store forced the franchise to temporary close and train employees on diversity.

According to new reports, the racial training session went down today at nearly 20,000 locations.

Sephora says it will close all of its stores on Wednesday so employees across the country can undergo diversity training. The move comes after singer SZA said she was profiled at a Sephora in Calabasas, California. About a month later, Sephora announced that all 16,000 of its employees will take part in workshops to help them understand its values, CBS Los Angeles reports. On Wednesday, Sephora stores will close for diversity training, the company announced on Facebook. Last month, SZA raised eyebrows after singling out a SEPHORA location.

Just this week, “Saturday Night Live” star Leslie Jones revealed her friends experienced similar treatment at a New York SEPHORA store.

SZA Calls Out Sephora in Calabasas After They Suspected Her of Stealing

Grammy-nominated singer, SZA was minding her own business while shopping for Fendy at the Calabasas location of Sephora yesterday. The Maplewood, NJ native revealed that the store called security on her based on the suspicion of stealing. A message to Sephora: do your Googles.

SZA took to Twitter to explain the incident.

“Lmao Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing, she wrote. “We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy.”

That “long talk” certainly put “Sanda Sephora” in here place. The TDE artist did not call for a boycott of the store, but many should be aware of the prejudice that lies within the Sephora walls in Calabasas. She just wanted to cop some Fenty.

Her fans, on the other hand, were extremely vocal about their displeasure following the incident. One fan called for the cancellation of the beauty store brand.

“Racial establishment. Racial profile black people and have security follow them to make sure they don’t steal.”

After tweeting about the incident, the 28-year-old singer may have hinted at some new music.

TDE’s president, Punch, tweeted about “a couple ideas” he has about SZA’s sophomore album.

Her platinum-selling debut, Ctrl earned her five Grammy nominations, two double platinum singles, and two gold singles. She recently performed medleys from her debut at Broccoli Fest in Washington D.C. last weekend. With the two year anniversary around the corner, fans are anticipating new music from the TDE first lady. As you can see Punch is excited about it.

SZA Goes In-In On Sephora After Racial Profiling Incident

Top Dawg Entertainment’s SZA is spilling more than tea. The hip-hop crooner has singled out a California Sephora retail store for a possible racial profiling incident.

SZA went to her Twitter page this week to keep it 100 on getting targeted.

Last month, SZA announced her new “Power Is Power” Travis Scott and The Weeknd “Game of Thrones”-inspired song arrives today.

The same week, SZA and music producer DJ Khaled announced they have a new music video on deck.

In March, the crooner went to Instagram with an in-studio pic.
