Future Drops “Life Is Good” Remix With DaBaby, Lil Baby & A Hint Of Drake

Drake In Concert - Atlanta, GA

Future made some noise with the “Life Is Good” single which featured past collaborator Drake and the pair appeared together in a stellar visual for the track. The song has now been remixed with the additions of DaBaby and Lil Baby with a largely diminished role for Drizzy, which fans on Twitter took notice of.

Earlier in the week, Future teased the remix after playing the new features via his Instagram Story feed.  The production from D. HIll, OZ, and Ambeeza remain unchanged in its entirety, but new verses appear on the track’s part one half from Future along with a new chorus.

On the second half beat switch, Da Baby opens it up with his customary bouncy flow with Lil Baby anchoring the track in capable fashion. Some are saying via Twitter that Lil Baby may have stolen the show with his verse. However, it was Drake’s truncated verse and chorus that had a lot of folks wondering what was up.

From the remix:

[Future]

Help me fight my demons off, know the usual
I had put a chopper in her name and a Ruger
She hang on the block where I hang like a shooter
Throwed away a cougar, she didn’t wanna leave
Treat her like garbage, my heart was on my sleeve
Should’ve chose better with your company at least
Why should I have love for her if she ain’t get it out the creek?
Why should I have trust for you, you ain’t get it out the creek?
Why should I have love for you, you ain’t kneelin’ to my feet?
Why should I be carin’ when I know I can’t be beat?
See how the ice be glarin’ when I come through and retrieve

Pusha T Remixes HBO’s ‘Succession’ Theme Song [Listen]

Source: Forbidden Fruit Festival 2016 at The Royal Hospital Kilmainham – Day 1 Featuring: Pusha T Where: Dublin, Ireland When: 03 Jun 2016 Credit: WENN.com **Not available for publication in Ireland**

Pusha T has just added another credit to his already impressive resume. The Virginia native has penned the theme song to an acclaimed show.

Hot New Hip Hop is reporting that King Push was tasked to remake the opening song for HBO’s Succession. The series follows the story of the fictional Roy family who are internally fighting to hold on to their media empire amidst their patriarch’s failing health. Written and performed by Nicholas Brittell, the original is a piano driven track with touches of violin all layered over some crisp drums and hi-hats.

For the closing of the second season the composer thought it would be a great idea to have “Numbers On The Board” rapper add his signature touches. “There was only one person on the list of people to reach out to. Of course it had to be Pusha,” Britell told Vulture. “There was no backup, there was no plan B. Pusha’s voice is like a missile!” As expected Push delivered.

“Puppets (Succession Remix)” finds Brick Flair right at home on the original beat. He effortlessly captures the show’s treachery in the opening hook. “Got my hands tied, the powers above me / Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just a puppet here / If you want to place blame, look to the puppeteer” he raps.

While Brittell loved his rendition HBO asked that he rewrite it as they felt the MC was giving away some of the plot. “I was like, ‘How, I didn’t even see it?!’” Push admitted. “So I tweaked some things because the lines were a bit too detailed. I think [Nick] didn’t want to ask me to redo anything. Ordinarily, I probably wouldn’t have. But, I mean, the show is dope.”

HBO Tapped Pusha T To Remix Theme Song For Hit Show ‘Succession’

BBC Radio 1Xtra Live

Source: WENN.com / WENN

Pusha T has been relatively quiet on the music front after the release of Daytona, although there is new music said to be on the horizon. For now, fans will have to be satisfied with a remix of the theme song for HBO’s hit show Succession, which King Push teased via Twitter.

The remix, titled “Puppets,” features the Virginia rapper’s menacing flow atop the brooding Nicholas Britell-composed production and it’s as dope as expected.

“If you love me please don’t judge me/Got my hands tied, the powers above me /Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just a puppet here /If you want to place blame, look to the puppeteer,” Push raps in the snippet, which can be heard below.

In a story on the remix from Vulture, Brittell, a New York-born and classically-trained composer who has worked on films such as If Beale Street Could Talk among other works, personally sought out Pusha T for the remix. If that seems odd, it actually makes sense as the 38-year-old Brittell has Hip-Hop roots and cites Dr. Dre and Quincy Jones as influential to his own work.

Britell also shared out the teaser, and properly gave the Clipse rapper his crown in the process.

The track “Puppets” drops this Friday (October 11). The second season finale of Succession airs this coming Sunday (Oct. 13).

Young Thug & Mason Ramsey Hop On Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” Remix [Stream]

BET Awards 2019

Source: FayesVision/WENN.com / WENN

If you thought Lil Nas X‘s “Old Town Road” was running out of steam, we’ve got some news for you. A new remix featuring Young Thug and viral sensation Mason Ramsey has hit the airwaves, and the results are surprisingly sharp.

Given the natural twang in fellow Atlanta resident Young Thug’s voice, he was a perfect fit to hop on the remix, which also features Billy Ray Cyrus. Although Thugger’s verse is a little PG-13 in some portions, his distinct style worked against the country-tinged backdrop of the track. Ramsey, the 12-year-old who got signed after being seen yodeling inside a Wal-Mart, added age-appropriate lyrics to the song.

Check out the lyric video of the remix below.

Lil Nas X made headlines after his so-called “Country-Trap” single “Old Town Road” was struck from Billboard’s Country charts. To put a little sauce on the young man’s record, Billy Ray Cyrus hopped on the remix and the results seem to be favorable.

The Blast reports:

Lil Nas X called in Billy Ray Cyrus for reinforcement after his song “Old Town Road” was removed from the Billboard charts because it apparently wasn’t country enough.

The rapper and the country music star hit the studio on Thursday to create the remix, and it’s a banger!

Lil Nas X shared behind-the-scenes footage showing Cyrus singing and playing his guitar while putting his signature country twang on the tune.

When “Old Town Road” got the snub from the Country charts, it made waves through the industry and caught the attention of Cyrus, who tweeted his support of the young artist. Making good on his word to show up for Lil Nas X, the remix for the track can be heard below some social media activity from the guys.

Classy act from Billy Ray Cyrus and not for nothing, he kind of bodied it.

Ghostface Killah Releases His First Song Of The Year & He’s Shining

Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah has a long and rich history with R&B music. The Staten Island, New York legend pivoted nearly a decade ago when he released Ghostdini: Wizard Of Poetry In Emerald City. That ’09 album and its cast of guests blended Hip-Hop with R&B in its guest list, production, and song themes. Long before that, G.F.K. had channeled elements of the genre on his works, ranging gritty renditions of ’60s and ’70s Soul, to involving fellow Shaolin natives The Force M.D.’s on his Ironman debut, as well as later spots for Carl Thomas and Ne-Yo.

Top singers equally respect Ghost’s aesthetic too. Jodeci, Beyoncé, Amy Winehouse, and Mary J. Blige are just some standout examples of elite artists seeking out the unconventional MC who regularly spits about matters of the heart. Recently, that was the case for Teyana Taylor, who tapped Ghost’, Raekwon, and Method Man for her video remix to “Gonna Love Me,” which referenced classic videos from the Wu-Tang MCs’ respective catalogs.

Ghost’ keeps that same energy moving into his remix of Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih’s “The Light.” From the pair’s MihTy collaborative LP late last year, the video single references the unmistakable bass-line to The Mary Jane Girls’ “All Night Long.” This one gets a new bounce at the top, nodding to Rae and Ghost’s classic “Ice Cream” confection.

After putting a brief stamp on the song in the beginning, G.F.K. makes his presence felt after the 2:00-mark, dropping a full verse. As the beat quickly calls back to RZA’s spacey Purple Tape sound, the iconic MC spits, “Yo, Shaolin’s finest / What up, boo? Peace, your highness / Let’s rewind this / Both get naked and kill the shyness / Wu-Tang’s timeless / Blow out your sinus / Sweet-talk that ass into bed, kill it with kindness,” begins the MC, before getting a little more graphic. He shouts out Jeremih and Ty before closing out the track. The song also briefly references Ahmad’s “Back In The Day.”

Next month, Ghostface is partnering with Wu brother Inspectah Deck as well as 7L & Esoteric (who together are known as CZARFACE). Maintaining a tradition employed by MF DOOM in 2018, the Czarface Meets Ghostface album will release on February 15. Heads have already been treated to first single “Iron Claw.”

In 2018, G.F.K. released The Lost Tapes, produced by Big Ghost, LTD. Remix editions (The Propane Tape) and (The Bronze Tape) subsequently dropped.
