Michelle Obama Recruits Stars for ‘Worth It’ Campaign to Promote Education

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is heading a new initiative with her “Worth It” campaign with her Reach Higher organization. Mrs. Obama has tapped Questlove, Kelly Rowland, Nick Cannon, Ciara, Jussie Smollett, Karlie Kloss, Bailee Madison and more to have them motivate others with their own success stories.

The campaign is set to share the stories of your favorite celebrities and provide words of encouragements to bypass the hurdles of life and achieve success, such has been found in higher education.

The video encourages students to participate in an online community and celebrate their own achievements while learning about what’s needed to get to and finish college.

“We started Reach Higher because we want every student, no matter their background, to know that higher education is worth it – they are worth it,” said Eric Waldo, Reach Higher’s executive director. “All of the hard work that goes into applying to and completing college will lead to a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.”

Reach Higher was started by Michelle Obama while she was spending time in the White House. The program was created to inspire every student in the U.S. to complete their education through high school and promoting attending a professional training program, a community college or a traditional university.
