Little discussed in the aftermath of R. Kelly’s empire crumbling around him is what his children might be enduring as a result. Joanna Kelly, who performs under the name Buku Abi, will be joining the cast of Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta and has no plans to discuss her famous father.

The Blast reports:

Sources connected to the WE tv show tell The Blast Drea Kelly did not ask for permission, or even inform her ex-husband that their family would be participating on the newest season of “Growing Up Hip Hop.” Two of the three children are over the age of 18, but we’re told there is zero communication between Drea and Kelly, so she never ran anything by him.

Furthermore, sources close to Drea scoffed at the notion she would seek out Kelly’s blessing for any business opportunities after it took jail time to get him to pay up on back child support.

We’re told all three of Kelly’s children, including Joann, Jay and Robert Jr., will be featured on the show. However, Joann’s aspiring singing career will be the focal point.

We’re told Joann, who performs under the name Buku Abi, was adamant regarding “not talking” about her controversial father, as he is not someone actively involved in her life. The R&B singer actually shared a birthday message for her this week, but we’re told the two have still not spoken.

Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta makes its season three premiere this summer.

Dave East Wants JAY-Z Collabo + Says He’s Done-Done W/ R. Kelly: “Bump N Grind Ain’t Sound The Same No More”

New York rapper Dave East has a lot to say. The hip-hop artist has appeared in a new “The Bumbu Room” episode to talk about everything from his respect for music mogul JAY-Z to why it’s time to mute controversial singer R. Kelly.

Despite having collaborated with hip-hop lyricists like Nas and Styles P, East is determined to clock in studio time with Young Hov.

“Hov, JAY-Z,” East said when asked who he still wants to collaborate with. “I just feel like his take on the game and just the way he twists words and, just his wordplay over the years has been so elite. I feel like it would just push me to talk or rap in a way I maybe haven’t done before. Same way I got with Nas.” (The Bumbu Rom)

Dave also kept things 100 on the drama surrounding the release of “Surviving R. Kelly.”

“First of all, if there’s a show or anything and people are surviving you, just that off top, is crazy to me. That that’s what they titled it. And then I sat and watched it and I think he’s sick. I think R. Kelly’s a twisted sick-minded nasty, perverted. He’s different. I don’t know nobody like R. Kelly. But big fan of his music up until I seen it because I realized that all those songs that I loved were about little girls. Once I realized that, ‘Bump N Grind’ ain’t sound the same no more – nah, I ain’t feeling R. Kelly.” (The Bumbu Room)

Kells’ legal team recently couldn’t convince a judge to lower his child support payments.

Kelly’s publicist, Darryll Johnson, said Kelly has no assets to sell, not even his home at Trump Tower, because he rents the condo, and paid rent in advance several years ago. Johnson said he and Kelly’s attorneys are representing him for free. Wednesday’s hearing on the child support payments was sealed to the public, but Kelly’s attorneys confirmed afterward that there would be no change in those payments, and the next hearing has been scheduled for May 8. Despite the outcome, Kelly is reportedly sticking to his music grind and putting new tunes together.

Johnson said Kelly is still recording music, even though he was dropped by his record label in January. “He’s recording every day. He has a studio in his home, so he’s always recording,” Johnson said. “All he does is sing; sing and record all day, and when he’s not doing that, he’s shooting basketball.” (Chicago CBS Local)

R. Kelly is Reportedly Requesting Permission to Travel to Dubai to Perform

In February, R. Kelly announced an overseas tour in the wake of Surviving R. Kelly, promising shows in Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. However, the announcement has been since-deleted for unknown reasons.

He was charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse with a minor and subsequently turned hisself into the police. After being released on bond the alleged abuser was forced to hand over his passport. However, the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Kelly is seeking permission to fly to Dubai for a series of concerts.

His lawyer Steve Greenberg confirmed with the Chicago paper today that he’s filing a motion for his travel request on a hearing on Friday. Although after his last hearing he wasn’t allowed to leave Illinois.

When the #MuteRKelly movement began gaining traction after the release of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, it was guaranteed that he wasn’t getting a gig in the United States. But he found interest to perform overseas. “He needs to be able to work like anyone else who is free on bond, and the law needs to be adaptable,” Greenberg explained, while also adding that he would travel with him as a “chaperone.”

R. Kelly Sings Happy Birthday to his Daughter Amid Legal Trouble

R. Kelly returned to social media to wish his daughter a happy birthday.

The disgraced singer is plagued with a child support case and mounting sexual abuse allegations, but took the time out to upload a video of himself singing happy birthday to his daughter Joann.

“Happy birthday baby, daddy love you,” Kelly said in the video. “No matter what I love you so much. MWAH.”

Following the premiere of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, his daughter Joann, who now goes by Buku Abi, posted a lengthy statement on Instagram.

“I pray for all the families & women who have been affected by my father’s actions,” the note said. “Trust, I have been deeply affected by all of this.”

She also said she has been estranged from her father for a while. “The same monster you all confronting me about is my father,” Abi wrote. “I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house.”

Buku is one of three children Kelly has with his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly. His daughter also appeared on the docuseries and shared her allegations of having been abused by him. R. Kelly was recently jailed for failure to pay $161,000 in child support to his ex-wife.

R&B singer R. Kelly is back in the spotlight. The crooner returned to social media this week with a video message following his publicized bouts with law enforcement.

Kells hopped on Instagram Wednesday with a birthday shout-out to his daughter.

Sources close to R. Kelly tell us the singer was absolutely lashing out at Drea Kelly when he quit writing child support checks … a move that ultimately landed him in Cook County jail. We’re told Kelly feels like he tried to maintain a relationship with his 3 kids, but he blames Drea for ruining any chance of that. He’s said he thinks she brainwashed them. Today In Hip Hop History: Jay-Z And R. Kelly Release Their Collaborative Album ‘Best Of Both Worlds’ 17 Years Ago

On this date in 2002, Hip Hop billionaire and troubled R&B legend R. Kelly released their highly anticipated joint album Best Of Both Worlds on the Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam imprint.

One of the most controversial albums and tours in the history of Hip Hop, Best Of Both Worlds fused Hip Hop and the already present element of R&B from two of the most prolific artists of the time. Kells and Hov created a synergy that could only be wrapped in a package with artistry from these two notable entertainers. Songs like “Shake Your Body” featuring Lil’ Kim, “Get This Money” and “Somebody’s Girl” embodied the concept of this project. The title track, in which Jay proclaims, “A combination of Pappy Mason and Larry Davis/ Martin and Malcolm, this is bigger than the album..” explained in suttle detqil the importance of this collabo project for the fans as well as the two artists.

Nevermind the fact that Jay had just completed his probation for the stabbing of former friend and associate Lance “Un” Rivera and Kells was facing then his first child sex case. Forget the fact that Jay’s longtime confidant pepper-sprayed Kelly in Madison Square Garden backstage, prompting the singer to drop out of the tour. It safe to say that the anticipation of the album was just as exciting as the drama that surrounded the album and the tour.

Salute to Jay and R. Kelly for delivering suc an unforgettable piece of Hip Hop history!

R. Kelly Tells A Grown Woman To “Talk Like A Little Girl”

The question floating around since Lifetime’s  Surviving R. Kelly documentary is a valid one. People simply are asking, “How come these women let him do all of this to them?”

Asante McGee shared how a young woman, who believed that she was in love with the man, could be duped into this seemingly hypnotic love trance. But she also shared that there were signs that pointed to pedophilia and issues around control. McGee wrote how it all happened for her on  the popular Think section of NBCnews.com.

One of the first things that she noted was that there were two different people living in that man’s body. One was R. Kelly and the other one was Robert. She noted that she ran away from Robert.

Robert apparently was the creep.

In her opinion, R. Kelly was the hero. She said, “He wants to protect me, so when he told me not to speak to people about coming to see him, because they might try to attack me, I believed him.” To drive this home, Kelly told her that one of his girls not only got beat up by an Uber driver, but “they” also put a gun to her head. She does not believe that story anymore, acknowledging that he wanted to “isolate” her and not “protect” her.

McGee also reveals that at first she had no ideas about his alleged affection for minors.”I was not a teenager, I was nowhere near a teenager.” Despite him wanting her to speak to him in a baby voice.

“He would tell me what to say, I would repeat it and he would keep telling me ‘No. Do it different, do it a little softer,” until I got to the voice that he wanted. I thought it was odd, but then I thought that maybe it was just a role play for him.

She later reveals that she “started to get concerned,” when the young looking girl was sitting on his lap at a concert in 2015, was later found out to be 17 years old.

She believes that she was naive and in love. So much in love by his charming demeanor that she forgot that he had her once sit in a van for eight hours, waiting to go to the studio with him.

What stressed her out more than finding out about the young girl, was the way he had all the girls tattling on each there. One girl clocked her during a concert (if she danced, did she know all of his songs, etc.).  According to her account, she couldn’t even use the phone without them saying something.

Ultimately, McGee learned to love herself as a woman and understand her value. That’s what saved her.

R. Kelly Reportedly Denies Sleeping With Aaliyah’s Mother

R. Kelly is currently facing 10 counts of sexual abuse and the allegations continue to mount even outside of the courtroom.

Lisa Van Allen, who was allegedly one of the singer’s ex-girlfriends and spoke out on the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, says he confided in her and revealed that he had a sexual relationship with Aaliyah’s mother, Diane Haughton, as well. TMZ reports that Kells denies these claims and Lisa is simply trying to drag his name.

“He actually stayed at their home in Detroit and her mother actually was sexually attracted to him as well,” Van Allen said during an interview with Vlad TV. “And he said when Aaliyah went to sleep, he would go in the living room and him and her would do sexual acts on the couch while Aaliyah was sleeping in the bedroom.”

The Pied Piper is due back in court on March 22nd for the next hearing in his sexual abuse case.

A federal case against R. Kelly is mounting, and an audio clip of Joycelyn Savage allegedly talking with a voice coach has surfaced with potentially damning evidence. In the audio, Savage, then a teenager, talks about Kelly potentially cutting her off if she didn’t deny their sexual relationship and appears to say she contracted herpes from him as well.

The Blast reports:

In the audio, Savage said she explained to Kelly that she told her family of their new sexual relationship, and the singer was apparently very angry.

“I told him what was going on,” a nervous Savage admitted, adding, “He can’t trust me … I have to gain his trust back because he really likes me a lot.”

Savage explained that Kelly wanted her to send a text message stating, “I lied about me and you having sex,” in case he ever needed a defense.

She also revealed that the singer may have given her an STD, and she was nervous about her father finding out if she tested positive for anything.

R. Kelly Accuser Low-Key Blames Donald Trump In Losing Battle To Serve Singer

R&B singer R. Kelly has Trump Tower to thank for delaying an inevitable lawsuit. New reports claim a woman has blamed President Donald Trump‘s luxury estate’s security in making it impossible to serve the crooner.

According to reports, alleged victim Heather Williams has not managed to get around Trump Tower guards to serve Kells with legal paperwork.

In the docs, Williams says she even tried giving a copy to Cook County Sheriff’s officials but says security at Trump Tower would not let deputies past the lobby. She’s filed a motion to get the judge to allow her to serve the papers on Kelly’s lawyers instead. As we first reported … Williams sued Kelly last month claiming the singer sexually abused her when she was 16 years old. She claims the abuse continued until she was an adult. Kelly denies the allegations and chalks it up to a shakedown. (TMZ)
