Well that didn’t take very long. Antonio Brown is asking his former employers to pay the remaining balance of his professional football contract.

NFL.com is reporting that the controversial wide receiver has a filed a grievance against the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots. The former wide out is seeking to recoup almost 40 million dollars in his unpaid salary. From Oakland specifically he has requested monies deducted due to disciplinary penalties, a week of salary when he was abruptly dropped from Oakland and voided guarantees. His complaint against the Patriots states includes salary not paid to him from week 1 of the 2019 season and the balance of the contract.

Even though the Raiders made Brown the highest-paid receiver he had a very tumultuous year off the field. He allegedly confronted his then general manager Mike Mayock in a hostile manner which resulted him in being terminated even before he played one game for the AFC West squad. He then signed with the Patriots a week later amidst allegations of rape and sexual assault.  He would be cut shortly after when it was reported that he sent texts intimidating a witness related to a separate case.

On September 22 he took to his Twitter account to vent his frustration claiming he will never play for the NFL again and also allude to this recent grievance filing.

Pro Twerker Antonio Brown Fumbles $30M Bag, #NFLTwitter Is Clowning Hard

Oakland Raiders v Arizona Cardinals

Antonio Brown is catching a tremendous amount of slander on Twitter after it’s come out that the Oakland Raiders not only fined him $215,000 but also voiding $30 million in guaranteed money. The 31-year-old wide receiver, who just demanded the team release him from his contract, got his wish after reports went out that the team cut him.

Trying to make sense of all this will be a little lengthy, so walk slow with us. Brown, who endured some of this media attention as a reported headache for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was fined the 215 large after allegedly getting into a dispute with Raiders GM Mike Mayock and allegedly threatening to punch the man. Brown was said to be upset that the team fined him $15,000 for missing practice.

Brown then spoke with ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington, sharing in an email his side of the story and said that the team took away his guarantees, saying to Darlington, “no way I play after they took that and made my contract week to week.”

To add to the madness, Brown released a video on YouTube that features what appears to be a private phone conversation between him and Raiders coach Jon Gruden while also taking to social media demanding to be released from the team. It’s been a lot going on over the past 24 hours.

The reaction from NFL Twitter has been momentous, and even Brown’s former coach Mike Tomlin of the Steelers became fodder for discussion and drew praise for putting up with the player. We’ve got all the chatter for your perusal below.

Raiders has always been top choice (think: N.W.A) so this makes all the sense. The drop will include a short-sleeve shirt, twill shorts, a hooded sweatshirt, a tee and a 5-panel hat. The hoodies are particularly hard body, so you may want to holla at the plug or that bot app, just saying.

The collection is available in brick and mortar stores New York City, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London and Paris, and online , on Thursday, June 6. As usual, Japan will get their stuff a couple of days later.

Peep photos of the collection below.
