Nick Cannon Says It’s Bigger Than R. Kelly: “The Groupies After The Shows”

Nick Cannon

Hollywood star Nick Cannon wants people to think bigger than R. Kelly. The hip-hop artist stepped forward this week to address the industry’s dark side and horrendous secret treatment toward women.

During an appearance with radio personality Big Boy, Nick didn’t bite his tongue on explaining why Kelly is just one of many guilty celebs.

“I was the first person to step up. I wrote a post and did a podcast saying I’m going to apologize because I feel like I am guilty. I am guilty for turning a blind eye not just to R. Kelly but to all men in this industry and treating women like second-class citizens has to stop – let’s not have this selective outrage. That’s why I called out a lot of other individuals whose lawyers started contacting me. Why your lawyers contacting me if it’s not true? I’m not out here passing out rumors and stuff, I’m bringing up stuff y’all forgot about because of the timign. We look at the age of the rock star. If you go back and look at some of these movies. They were doing such horrendous things to young girls and it was praised. The groupies after the shows and what they’re doing.” (Big Boy TV)

Last week, Cannon shared his past “Giglo” collaboration and shared deep words on the Kelly situation.

#TBT After much self reflection and meditation, I have to be one of the first to admit that in my past I’ve DEFINITELY turned a blind eye to a lot of darkness in this industry. Let’s stop beating around the bush and call it what it is. This entire industry was established and built by evil and predatorily spirits and male chauvinistic behavior. And since the recent media outrage pertaining to @RKELLY I have realized that the REAL issue at hand is the ultimate lack of care and disrespect for our QUEENS. For far too long we have treated women like second class citizens, when in actuality they are the source, our core, and the Superior beings. But our insecurities, Egos, and lack of love has tried to prove otherwise. Therefore we have SEVERAL cases where we allow entertainers, executives, and every day individuals abuse and mistreat our life bearers and beautiful equals. It is no secret how men have misused their power to manipulate young emerging pop stars to seasoned hollywood actresses and everyone in between. I have personally witnessed it and will no longer be silent about it. It’s not dry snitching, it’s a paradigm shift. I’m not judging ANY man for his past or his private actions because I too am a guilty sinner of the blatant disrespect even in some of the statements in the song above. But From Individuals like Les Moonves, Harvey Weinstein, ‪Elvis and others, I must say we have to deal with this sickness head on. The real leaders and Bosses must step up and be MEN! And I will be one of the first to say on behalf of all men, I am Sorry. Please consider an advocate, ally and student that needs guidance in an industry that was designed to take advantage of women. Let’s change it ALL immediately. And call it all to the table for our ignorance, wrong doings and disrespect. I apologize my Queens.

Nick Cannon Doesn’t Believe Kylie Jenner Makes as Much as JAY-Z

Nick Cannon has been making a lot of headlines recently because he has been very vocal about his opinion.

Cannon stopped by Vlad TV and he weighed in on Kylie Jenner tying JAY-Z for the top spot on the Forbes list.

“At this point, I don’t think Jay-Z’s publicist has to pitch him for Forbes. But Kylie, I feel some spinning there. I’m not necessarily rocking. Somebody’s publicist made a call, and they know the attention she be getting. ‘You know if we say that she’s the equivalent to Jay-Z and it’s the number one spot, it’s gonna make news everywhere.’”

He also expressed his thoughts on the ‘billionaire’ title being tossed around freely. Nick Cannon noted that the Olsen twins and Jessica Simpson were reported to have a billion dollars in the past but were never featured on the prestigious list.

It’s hard to tell if we need to give Kylie’s PR team kudos, or if Nick is making valid points.

Last week, 50 ripped Dame for telling Nick Cannon to ask ex-affiliate JAY-Z about his past rumored romance with protégé Foxy Brown.

Back in 2013, Foxy responded to rumors claiming she exposed JAY’s love for transsexuals.

But Foxy says the report is complete BS, telling TMZ … “The atrociousness of this story sickened me to my stomach. Any and everyone involved will be contacted by my attorney.” Foxy says, “In all my years in the music industry, these are the most disgusting and disrespectful allegations I’ve ever experienced. 50 Cent & Funk Flex Call Out Dame Dash & Nick Cannon For Insinuating Jay-Z Had Relations Foxy Brown

The Launch of Jay Z's 40/40 Club - Inside Party

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty

It’s not a secret that whenever Dame Dash does an interview and is asked about Jay-Z he goes into a Trump like tantrum and shoots down any attempts to answer Jigga related questions. But Nick Cannon actually got him to say more than anyone expected.

Recently Dame spoke on how Jay-Z’s collaboration album with R. Kelly affected their him during a clip from an interview he did with Nick Cannon for Cannon’s Class, but in a newly released clip from said interview, Dame insinuated that Jay-Z might’ve had a fling with a teenage Foxy Brown in the mid 90’s.

After the Wild ‘N Out host asked Dame how old Foxy Brown was when she signed to the label. Dame immediately shot that question down saying “I wasn’t paying attention to Foxy Brown. I didn’t sign Foxy Brown! Stop putting me in that! You keep asking like I’m on the block, I’m responsible for everybody. I don’t know nothing about that. Don’t beat around the bush. What do you mean by that question? are you insinuating?” After Nick said he felt that Foxy was 16 at the time, Dame responded with “It seems like you got a question for Jay.”

Needless to say it seems like Dame and Nick were trying to pull some cards out of a 90’s deck here and people took notice and immediately called out Dame Dash Nick Cannon for trying to throw Jay under the bus.

50 Cent was the first to take to social media and called out Dame Dash and Nick Cannon saying that their interview should’ve been called “2 suckers chatting class.” Funk Flex also chimed in commenting “2 Grown men giggling like b*tches concerned about Jay-Z and who he touching! Nick always commenting on a man chick… But can’t keep his chick! Dame intern/wife took all his sh*t. Y’all 2 are a f*cking disgrace from my era!! FOH.” Well, damn.

Nick Cannon responded to the heat from 50 and Flex trying to downplay the situation replying “Ha!! That’s what you got out of that big Homey??? Interesting! I was taught Solid recognize Solid and sucks recognize suckers… Let’s talk about it,” but that just led to more anger from Flex responding with “What the next man d**k got to do with y’all. FOXY smart and always wanted to get ahead and always lied about her age. I remember because for awhile she couldn’t get in the tunnel! She never told the truth about her age!”

Earlier in the week, buzz developed about a Georgia criminal investigation launching following last week’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries airing.

We’re told the probe was launched over the past few days as a direct result of what ‘Surviving’ depicted. We’re told investigators have been reaching out to several survivors featured in the TV project. We have confirmed investigators reached out to Asante McGee, one of the women who allegedly escaped R. Kelly’s home. We’re told investigators were flooded with calls once the docuseries aired. (TMZ)

Dame Dash Said He Looked The Other Way When Jay-Z Worked With R. Kelly

The fallout and continuing revelations that have come forth in the wake of the recent airing of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docu-series continue to mount. Dame Dash once again shared details of when he and Jay-Z’s became strained as a result of the rapper joining forces with Kelly on a joint album with Dash seemingly admitting that he looked the other way.

Page Six reports:

In a clip from an upcoming episode of Nick Cannon’s “Cannon’s Class,” the Roc-a-Fella Records co-founder admitted he regretted not saying anything when Jay-Z collaborated with Kelly, who wed Dame’s late girlfriend Aaliyah when she was just 15 years old.

“I’m human, bro. But I had to look the other way, all these years,” Dash said. “So publicly that man did a record with the n—a that raped my girl, that he liked as well. Right? You understand what I’m saying? But no one said nothing.”

Earlier in the clip, he also recalled Aaliyah’s reluctance to talk about her time with Kelly. The singer, who tragically died in a plane crash in 2001 when she was just 22, secretly wed Kelly in 1994, when she was just 15 after the two had collaborated on her debut album “Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number.” Her parents annulled the marriage the next year.

Dame Dash Admits Aaliyah Wouldn’t Spill Tea On R. Kelly: “That N*gga Raped My Girl”

Dame Dash Nick Cannon

Former Roc-A-Fella Records co-owner Damon “Dame” Dash hasn’t rocked with R. Kelly for a long time. The hip-hop mogul has shared some thoughts about the disgraced singer and explained his issues with Kells goes back years.

In a new interview with comedian Nick Cannon, Dame admitted his late girlfriend Aaliyah wouldn’t even spill any tea on what went down between her and Kells during their time together.

Last week, Aaliyah’s mom Diane Haughton responded to rumors about an alleged backup dancer catching her daughter and Kells having sex during a 90’s tour run.

In last week’s three-night Lifetime Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, ex-back-up dancer Jovante Cunningham talked about Kelly and Aaliyah’s relationship.

“We were out on the road with Aaliyah,” she says. “On a tour bus, there really aren’t many confined spaces. When you get on the bus there are bunks and so these bunks have little curtains you can pull at night if you don’t want anybody to see you sleeping. … So it just so happened we were all laying in our bunks and the curtains are open, everybody’s communicating, laughing. When the [room] door flew open on the bus. Robert [R. Kelly] was having sex with Aaliyah.” (Rolling Out)

Back in the mid-90’s, rumors surfaced about Kelly and Aaliyah secretly getting married.

That same year, 1994, it was widely reported Kelly and Aaliyah had secretly married, though they both denied it. A subsequently unearthed marriage certificate listed his 15-year-old protegee’s age as 18; her parents had it annulled the following year. Kelly went on to become her mentor, as well as lead songwriter and producer of her double platinum debut album, the uncomfortably titled Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. (Daily Mail)

This honestly hurts my heart to have to post this right now, but I’m just requesting prayers and positive energy for my young guy! @RyanBowersOB has to be one of the most talented and gifted youngsters I’ve ever met but more importantly one of the most resilient and strong spirits I’ve personally witnessed. He had such a troubled and haunted journey when I first signed him that I wasn’t aware of because he did it all with a smile. One of the nicest and sincere kids you could ever meet. About 5 years ago I created a alternative rap group for him and @Kehlani along with a few other talented young artist called “PWD”. They were all so dope that I invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in them. They had amazing songs with @E40 @losangelesconfidential @djpremier and more. They toured with @therealtechn9ne and even performed on Wildnout, at SXSW and other festivals. And Bowers was the energy of the group, a writer, rapper, singer, skateboarder.😊! The kid could do it all, but like most of us he had his own demons and darkness that he struggled with. We would often talk about God and Spirituality and he got to a place where it all was confusing for him and he couldn’t trust anyone. I told him I would always have his back and would be there for him so when I got the call today that he slit his throat and then immediately after the San Diego police shot him numerous times. My heart sunk. Through the grace of the Most High Ryan Bowers is still here with us, but he needs your prayers and positive energy. I promise you if my guy pulls through I will make the world know him and appreciate his amazing journey and gifts!! I love you my dude! I know you are going to pull through! 🙏🏾

Back in September, Cannon questioned rap heavyweight Kanye West going on an explosive rant against himself and Drake.

“He’s a master at manipulating the media and controlling the media and controlling his message. So I had to step back and be like, ‘Why is he doing this?’ You know what I mean? I don’t know. It’s Yeezy promotion. He was new to Instagram, he was talking, he was referencing some old media while he was focusing on his media. So I was like, ‘Alright, I’m going to answer back with my media.’” (Big Boy TV)

The same week, R&B singer Ray J weighed-in on the Kanye West and Nick Cannon dispute.

“I haven’t really been paying attention to the back and forth between [Kanye and Nick],” he said. “For me, I have to grow up and be my own man and look out for my own family and make sure that my wife and baby are comfortable with what I’m saying. So if that affects them then it affects me.” (TooFab)

Recently, Kanye and Nick communicated through social media to squash their beef.

Kanye West and Nick Cannon have come to a mutual understanding after going at each other on social media over Kim Kardashian West — and the consensus is this … R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Sources tell us that Kanye and Nick squashed their beef this weekend after Nick responded to Ye on Instagram, basically telling him to not try and censor what he can or can’t say in interviews. We’re told they swapped numbers in their IG DMs … and eventually, both of them got on the horn to hash things out in a fairly long convo. (TMZ)

Nick Cannon Digs Up Homophobic Tweets From Amy Schumer & Sarah Silverman

Nick Cannon must have been listening to “That’s What Friends Are For” the last couple days. Cannon came to the defense of his friend Kevin Hart who announced that he was withdrawing as host of the 2019 Academy Awards.

According to the “Wild N Out” creator, if the cancel culture came for Hart then there are other comedians that deserve the same treatment for there controversial remarks. Cannon posted old homophobic tweets from Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Handler, and Amy Schumer.

Nick Cannon is arguing that the culture of cancellation is selective in who it targets. But Cannon’s quest to hold everyone accountable for their tweets has caused some backlash as well.
