It seems a long-rumored collaboration will be finally coming to life. Madlib and Logic have released their first single from MadGic.

As spotted on Hypebeast, the Gaithersburg, Md. native has officially connected with the famed beatsmith.

The track “Mars Only pt. 3” finds Bobby Tarantino on a version of the 2005 Quasimoto track “Rappcats.” While the MC retired back in July of 202,0 he shows no signs of rust on the microphone while name dropping a host of his peers including Kanye West, Diddy, Kendrick Lamar (via his debut g.o.o.d kid m.A.A.d city), and Freddie Gibbs (via his collaborative effort with Madlib Bandana).

Additionally, he confirms that the effort was curated during the height of the pandemic. “Logic and Madlib is MadGic, your catalog tragic / F*** a underground, f*** a pop sound / Made this whole album in a lockdown, Hip-Hop is our town” Loigc raps.

The “Sucker For Pain” rapper toyed around with the idea of the two creatives linking up for a project in an interview with The Needle Drop last fall.

“I’ve been talking to Madlib and that’s the only guy I would make an album with. And if we were going to do it we coined MadGic [as our name]. And it wouldn’t be a Logic album; it be some collaborative Rap sh*it. But I’m so off Rap that would be the last thing I would want to do,” Logic revealed.

You can listen to “Mars Only pt. 3” below. A release date for their MadGic project is unknown at this time.

Travis Scott Drops Three Different Artworks For His New Single “Highest in the Room”

As if he didn’t already have the music world excited with the announcement of his second annual ASTROWORLD Festival a few days ago, Travis Scott is now gearing up for the release of new music in the form of a single titled “Highest in the Room.”

Dropping this Friday (October 4), Travis’ latest musical offering also comes accompanied by three different artwork designs (seen above). The main one seems to be the burning ladder extending into the clouds — it’s a dope work of art in itself that alludes to the song’s title perfectly without having to say much. The alternate cover goes for a more direct approach, infusing the words “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM” in a typeface that matches the Basquiat-esque figure also present in the artwork. The third could be a whole other song altogether, especially because a song titled “SHE FILLS MY MIND UP WITH IDEAS” with an alien head on the cover looks like a very Cactus Jack sorta move. Either way, we’re definitely excited to see what the rap superstar has to offer to cap off the workweek with.

Look out for “Highest in the Room” by Travis Scott to arrive this Friday (October 4). No word yet on if this is for a new album, but we’ll keep you updated with the latest.

Megan Thee Stallion Adds Nicki Minaj To “Hot Girl Summer” Single?

Pretty Little Thing BET Awards Pre Party

Last week, the Hotties were hoping to get blessed by their fearless leader, Megan Thee Stallion, with the “Hot Girl Summer” single. Some sleuths online seemingly managed to figure out that Nicki Minaj will appear on the track, and the week-long delay of its release seems to confirm that.

The Minaj Society Twitter account posted a tweet Sunday (August 4) that showed a Shazam result for “Hot Girl Summer” with Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign as the featured guests on the track. The pair sparked rumors last month after appearing on each other’s Instagram Live feeds, and Megan herself told her adoring fans that the song would be delayed a week for a rather special reason.

It’s safe to assume that the Hotties and Barbz are going to be blasting this track for the rest of the summer should the Nicki Minaj cameo come to fruition.

“Hot Girl Summer” drops on Friday, August 9.

Drake Drops 2-Song “Best In The World Pack,” Twitter Dissects Both Tracks

As promised, Drake dropped off two new tracks to celebrate the big win for the Toronto Raptors, who vanquished the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals this past Thursday. The “Best In The World Pack” that Drizzy refers to it as features one song that finds the Canadian superstar going at an old foe and realigning with a former collaborator.

The tracks “Omertà” and “Money In The Grave” which features Rick Ross,  find Drizzy in rapper mode and talking extremely greasy on top of it. On “Omertà,” products by Deats E.Y. and OZ, has a few lines obviously directed at Pusha T, reigniting the feud in a quick couple of bars.

“Last year, n*ggas really feel like they rode on me/Last year, n*ggas got hot ’cause they told on me,” Drake raps, referencing Pusha’s “The Story of Adidon” diss track.

On “Money In The Grave,” producer Cyndey “Lil CC” Christie, Asoteric, and Ljay Currie provide Drizzy and Rozay some heat to trade eloquent rich living bars over.

Twitter has been going wild over the drop since its release and we’ve got the reactions below.

The fans asked and Cardi B has granted their wish. Trap’s Selena has finally dropped her long teased follow-up single.

As spotted on Complex back in December 2018 the Bronx bombshell shared an in-studio performance of an unreleased track. Wearing a “bute” little red dress and using a copious amount of finger guns, she proudly rapped “Cardi don’t need no more press!”. The brief clip took on a life of its’ own and naturally the Bardi Gang wanted those rachet feels asap. Five months later the completed song is here.

Earlier this week Belcalis started teasing the formal release with several film noire styled promotional pictures alerting the masses of the May 31 launch date. Well now “Press” is officially here.

Drake and Jorja Smith’s Single ‘I Could Never’ Leaks Online

Drake and Jorja Smith create more magic together. Both artists collaborated on Drake’s remake of Black Coffee’s cookout classic, “Superman.” Since the release of “Get It Together” off his 2017 playlist, More Life, the two artists have yet to release another track together. The connection started back in 2016 when 6ix God said “Where Did I Go?” was his favorite song at the moment. Smith uploaded the song on Soundcloud and was only nineteen-years-old. Any recognition or co-sign from Drizzy is a standout accomplishment in itself.

The following year she was featured on two tracks on More Life, including “Jorja Interlude.” Her fan base has grown since the release of her debut album, Lost & Found. Although the “God’s Plan” was not featured on the April 2018 release, a single featuring the two has surfaced. The new song is called “I Could Never.” Both Drake and Jorja sing on the track to create a late night vibe. “Get It Together” is a much more uptempo vibe, so it is the complete opposite of “I Could Never.”

On the track, Drake sings:

“You’ve told me things
Harsh truth to my face like
Been told to walk away (just know)
I could never
Things that I would choose to do with you if I had time though
Thousand times I fucked you in my mind, trust me I know”

Jorja comes through to compliment Drizzy melancholy like tone.

“Sometimes I ask how you could ever want me
How could you choose that you would ever love me
Yours were the truest eyes I’d ever seen
To be in a stare right back at me”

Drake is recovering after canceling his tour Miami tour dates. Aubrey and The Three Migos touchdown in New Orleans, LA tonight.

Check out the new single below.
