LeBron James Snacks On Red Vines Candy After Dropping 40 On The Pels

New Orleans Pelicans v Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James is as fit an athlete basketball fans have ever witnessed, but even the King likes to eat sweets occasionally. Fans took notice of the Los Angeles Lakers superstar snacking on red licorice twists after dropping 40 points.

The Lakers hosted the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday (Feb. 25) and with James and fellow NBA All-Star Anthony Davis leading the squad to a 118-109 win. The pair took on the high-scoring duo of Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, who scored 34 and 29 respectively.

After taking to the pine after his monster performance, a fan hands James a pack of Red Vines, which he casually ate as the game neared the end.  And as you’ll see later from the reactions, the Red Vines folks are loving the inadvertent endorsement of their candy, but Sour Patch Kids also made a bid to fill James’ candy-eating needs.

The moment even caused a slight debate among the Inside The NBA team from TNT after analyst Shaquille O’Neal suggested the white people refer to the candy as Red Vines while Black people call them Twizzlers. Just to be fair, they’re two different candies, as you’ll soon find out if you keep scrolling. But what’s got us having a good time with this story is the fact that no team nutritionist worth their salary would suggest candy as the proper post-game snack or meal.

The quick video of James nibbling on the Red Vines licorice twists definitely had folks chiming in with a load of comments, which we’ve collected below.

We Have Lift Off: Twitter Blown Away After Zion Williamson Gives Us A Glimpse of His Greatness

San Antonio Spurs v New Orleans Pelicans

Source: Chris Graythen / Getty

After a significant delay, Zion Williamson is officially ready for launch. The no.1 draft pick made his NBA regular-season debut, and he didn’t disappoint.

The sports world has been eagerly awaiting to see Zion showcase his phenomenal skills we got a taste of in Summer League and preseason action. Zion’s launch was delayed after he suffered a torn right meniscus and underwent surgery to repair it, sidelining him 6-8 weeks.

In his limited action, Zion displayed the same dominance averaging 23.3 points on 71.4 percent shooting and 6.5 rebounds in 4 games before Williamson was sidelined. After sitting on the sidelines and sometimes actually getting caught napping, literally, the Zion was cleared for launch Wednesday night during the Pelicans home matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.

As expected, the Pelicans decided to ease him back into action with Gentry playing him in short spurts, so his regular-season debut wasn’t as exciting as many hoped it would be through the first 3 quarters of play. If you were like us, your probably tuned out thinking this wasn’t going to be the game where Zion returned to regular form, but then the fourth quarter happened.

Williamson showed signs that he is just waiting for the green light scoring 17 straight points, shooting an insanely efficient 4/4 from behind the three-point line, 8/11 from the field, distributing three assists, and grabbing seven rebounds in just 18 minutes of play.

Twitter, of course, after being asleep for most of the game, erupted at what they just witnessed. If Zion keeps this play up, current shoo-in Rookie of The Year, Ja Morant. You can peep all of the reactions in the gallery below.

Lonzo Ball Appears To Be Throwing Shade At Lakers On New Song, Denies It On Twitter

Lonzo Ball Allegedly Disses Lakers On New Song "Last Days"

Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty

Lonzo Ball isn’t only a professional basketball player, he also moonlights as a rapper as well. On a new track he shared, it would appear the point guard is still feeling some sort of way about being traded by Lakers.

Ball didn’t live up to the expectations his dad, LaVar Ball predicted for him before he even put on a Lakers jersey. After some very lackluster seasons in the La La Land, the organization included him in a package to acquire All-Star big man, Anthony Davis. While at the time he seemed very optimistic at the idea of throwing lobs to Zion Williamson, it would appear he still is a bit salty about the trade.

On a new song titled “Last Days” off his latest project Born 2 Ball, he touches on the events that led him to be a Pelican. Twitter users quickly assumed Ball was dissing the Lakers when he stated:

“You know I’m all about business LA is going to regret their decision.”

Ball picked up on the rumblings and responded via his social media accounts claiming he was not dissing his former team.

“I’m not dissing anybody I loved my time in LA. I use my music as an outlet to express things that happen in my life #50and30 out now! Let me know y’all favorite track.”

Well maybe he is just using it as fuel to motivate himself next season, but it sure does sound like he’s putting someone on notice. You can listen to Lonzo’s new song below.

SOURCE SPORTS: Zion Williamson Down to Two Puma and Nike On His Lucrative Sneaker Deal

Zion Williamson is going to sign a massive sneaker endorsement deal at some point this Summer, it just remains to be seen which brand the No. 1 overall pick will side with.

TMZ reports that Nike is well aware of the threat that PUMA poses and that Nike is making a hard push to get a deal done with Williamson.” As one source describes, according to TMZHe’s the #1 priority.”

Williamson hasn’t even played a single NBA game to this point, but he could still land a deal north of $100 million due to his popularity.

“There are particular, singular athletes that can move the needle,” former Nike and Adidas executive Sonny Vaccaro said, per TMZ Sports. “Zion Williamson has moved the needle before he even became a professional.”

Zion certainly has more experience with Nike after wearing the company’s apparel in college at Duke, although a blown shoe did cause a knee injury:

If Nike strikes out on Zion, everyone will point to that infamous night at Chapel Hill, when Williamson’s sneaker blew all the way up.

Puma is trying to work its way into the conversation after signing last year’s No. 1 pick Deandre Ayton. Adding Williamson to the mix could help the company become extremely popular among the younger audience.

If Puma lands Zion, the ripple effects will be felt in the sneaker game for years to come.

SOURCE SPORTS: Master P Believes the Pelicans Got the Better End of the Anthony Davis Deal

The Los Angeles Lakers and their fans are heralding landing Anthony Davis in the purple and gold for the upcoming season. But if you hit up Master P and ask him about the deal he will tell you the New Orleans Pelicans are the clear winners of the trade.

“We got everything!,” the No Limit leader told TMZ Sports.

If you missed it, the LakeShow sent Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, the number four pick and more future draft selections to NOLA for AD.

The additions from the Lakers will be added to Zion Williamson who is presumably the number one overall pick by the Hornets in the NBA Draft on Thursday.

The Pelicans surely have more assets and weapons than before, however, the Lakers got the second superstar they needed to maximize the remaining years of LeBron James’ career. Seems like a win-win this way. But Master P said what he said. He has also expressed interest in signing Williamson to a sneaker deal. That likely will go to one of the sneaker titans and all sources are pointing toward Nike.

Check out the clip below and let us know if you think P’s hometown Pelicans got better than the LakeShow with the deal.

Anthony Davis Rocks ‘That’s All Folks!’ Tee as Pelicans Close Their Season

The NBA is holding up its reputation as the most entertaining league in sports on one of its closing nights. Dwyane Wade is on his way out, Dirk Nowitzki is doing the same, and so is Magic Johnson. Anthony Davis fashionably said, “don’t forget about me.”

The star forward was seen on social media, strangely the New Orleans Pelicans also shared it, walking through the halls of the Smoothie King Center wearing a t-shirt that reads the closing Looney Tunes statement “That’s All Folks!”

Davis appeared to be on his way out of New Orleans this season when the Los Angeles Lakers inquired about his services near the trade deadline but everything fell apart. Maybe this offseason will serve him better.
