#MuteRKelly: City Council Bans R. Kelly From Philadelphia

R. Kelly is officially no longer welcomed in Philadelphia. CBS Philly reported that the City Council chose to stand with the disgraced singer’s alleged victims and ban him from the city.

“This resolution is about fundamentally stating a public declaration that R. Kelly and sexual predators like him don’t belong in a public sphere, with public support,” Philly city council member Helen Gym said. “This symbolic act of solidarity puts all sexual predators on notice.”

Following the release of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly series, many former collaborators and friends swiftly renounced the singer and apologized for ignoring the early warning signs of his sexual misconduct.

The “Happy People” singer was dropped from RCA Records and is currently looking for a distributor for his upcoming album. The search for him is going to be tight because he’s currently under federal investigation for allegedly attempting to book a flight for one of his alleged victims.

Sparkle Drags Erykah Badu, Taraji P. Henson for Seemingly Defending R. Kelly

Sparkle isn’t feeling Erykah Badu and Taraji P. Henson’s initial comments in regards to R. Kelly’s alleged sexual allegations.

The singer says responses like theirs is harmful and prevents other victims from coming forward. Sparkle, who participated in the jarring docuseries, says the Black community needs to give the Pied Piper tough love, not unconditional love like Badu suggested.

On the contrary, Taraji’s comparison of the #MuteRKelly hashtag to Harvey Weinstein’s is senseless according to Sparkle because an abuser is an abuser. Period.

R. Kelly Protestors Rally Outside Sony Office In NYC

R&B veteran R. Kelly might not want to pull through for a Sony Music meeting today. A group of protesters gathered at the singer’s record label Wednesday (January 16) to urge the label to drop Kells amid growing sexual assault accusations.

According to reports, #MuteRKelly supporters united in front of the label with billboards and chants slamming the record company.

Sony Music, through its label RCA Records, has Kelly among its artists. So organizers behind #MuteRKelly, Black Women’s Blueprint, Care2, Color of Change, Credo Action, Girls for Gender Equity, NOW-NYC and UltraViolet went to the company’s New York City offices to present it with a Record Label of Shame award and ask it to drop Kelly. Pussycat Dolls to Pull R. Kelly Collaboration From Streaming Platforms

The Pussycat Dolls are the latest artists attempting to disassociate themselves with R. Kelly in wake of the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries.

TMZ reports that Interscope is pulling strings to get their Pied Piper-assisted single, “Out of This Club” pulled from all streaming platforms.

The record which was also produced by Kelly was released in 2008 with mixed reviews. One music critic said it was a “standard sex you up fare (you wouldn’t expect anything less from Kelly, would you?)”

The Pussycat Dolls are jumping on board the #MuteRKelly movement alongside Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Chance The Rapper, Nick Cannon, and B2K.

Ciara is also in the process of taking “Promise” offline, but as previously reported, the “I Admit” singer’s streams spiked ever since Lifetime released the documentary that exposed disgusting sexual abuse allegations against the disgraced singer.

RCA Records is Reportedly Holding R. Kelly’s New Music

Following the release of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, many people have been trying to show their support for the victims by siding with them as opposed to taking R. Kelly’s side.

Chance The Rapper, Nick Cannon, Ne-Yo, and Tank are among the many people who vowed to stop supporting the disgraced singer. Chance and Nick even apologized for collaborating with the Pied Piper. However, RCA Records have been under fire for enabling Kells for years and it looks like they’re finally about to do something about it.

TMZ reports that RCA/Sony will not be financially supporting any of R. Kelly’s upcoming projects until the criminal investigation against him in Georgia is resolved. The “I Admit” singer has to complete two more albums under his deal but the label isn’t putting any money behind his music or videos.

The label could possibly be sued if they drop R. Kelly without any criminal charges to justify breaching the contract. On the other hand, they will be caught up in a public relations whirlwind if they release any of his music while the #MuteRKelly movement continues to grow.

R. Kelly Was Reportedly Hospitalized for Panic Attacks

R. Kelly is reportedly seeking medical attention after the Lifetime docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly made its viral debut last week.

TMZ reports the “I Admit” singer has been experiencing an overwhelming amount of panic attacks and went to the hospital. The first signs of emotional distress occured days leading up to the documentary’s premiere. He continued experiencing the attacks after part one and two aired. But the recent one was so bad that he wanted to get treated.

The tabloid also reports that R. Kelly had doctors make house visits.

These reports come after Kells was seen celebrating his birthday in a Chicago club Wednesday night. Many people thought he was unbothered by the entire ordeal, but this report suggests that he’s feeling the heat.
