Cam'ron Joins Jadakiss in MTA COVID-19 Campaign

New York Nico wants to remind New Yorkers commuting via public transportation to practice social distancing, and he tapped some New York icons to help with his campaign.

Cam’ron took to Instagram to announce that he will be voicing some of MTA’s COVID-19 public service announcements.

“Ayo, check it out. It’s Harlem’s own Killa Cam. Look, I don’t care if you from uptown, downtown, Harlem, Switzerland, where ever. I don’t care if you’re a chicken or a duck. And you know what? COVID don’t care either. Are you wearing a mask? Yeah, well, is it covering your mouth and nose? Then good. You’re doing great,” says the Harlem native in the voiceover. “Remember, not only wearing a mask is the law but it’s the right thing to do.”

Cam says he hasn’t ridden the train since they accepted tokens, but he wants to hear his PSA. “Ima catch a ride (nh) on da 4 line real quick. I’ve never used a metro card, I haven’t been on the train since people used tokens. I might hop the turnstile for old time sake,” captioned Cam along with a few laughing emojis. “Nahhh j/k lol I’m paying,” he added.

Cam’ron joins the likes of Jadakiss who will lend his iconic, raspy voice for the campaign as well.

MTA Enlists Jadakiss to Voice COVID-19 Announcements for NYC Subways and Buses

MTA Enlists Jadakiss to Voice COVID 19 Announcements for NYC Subways and Buses

Jadakiss has one of the most iconic voices in Hip Hop history and the MTA wants him to use it to inform the people in his hometown about COVID-19 updates.

The Yonkers rapper took to Instagram to announce that he’s apart of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s new COVID-19 public health campaign.

“Starting February 12th, you will be hearing my voice along with over 20 other iconic voices representing the @mta on subway platforms and buses all over NYC! S/O @newyorknico for making this happen,” he wrote. “I can’t wait to hear this for myself He Heh!”

MTA announced the initiative in November, and Jadakiss is the first of 20 people to be named.

“If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, please quarantine at home or seek medical attention. Thanks for helping to keep New York City safe,” he says in the PSA that ends with his trademark laugh.

A Black New York subway passenger shared details of an alleged vicious attack by a white man last Friday. In her account, the 57-year-old aide says that the man called her “Black b*tch” ahead of stabbing her, the injury which later collapsed her lung.

New York Post reports:

I didn’t know I was stabbed and my lung was collapsed,” Ann Marie Washington, 57, said by phone from Kings County Hospital. When she got home and tried to lay down, “I got up and felt I wanted to vomit. [Then] I see blood on my pillow.”

The home health aide’s harrowing Friday night began around 7:30 p.m., when she got off the Q train at the Church Avenue stop on her way home from work.

“It’s still fresh in my mind. … I’m walking off the platform and saw a white guy — well-groomed — standing,” she said. “As I pass him, I feel blows on the back of me.”

Washington — who told cops that she’d heard her assailant yell, “Black bitch!” right before the attack — crumpled to the ground as the suspect hopped onto a southbound Q train departing the Flatbush station.

NYPD‘s Hate Crime Task Force is said to be looking the case.
