Man Involved in Overdose of Michael K. Williams Sentenced to Nearly Three Years in Prison

Carlos Macci, a man involved in the overdose of Michael K. Williams, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Williams was sentenced to nearly three years.

According to The Blast, Macci was arrested due to a drug trafficking investigation. Macci is one of four charged.

Adding to the 30 months in prison. Macci will have three years of supervised release while serving year one of his sentence in an inpatient drug treatment facility.

Speaking to the court ahead of the sentence, Macci said, “I would like to say, your honor, I’m sorry for what has happened.”

Outside of the courtroom, Williams’ nephew, Dominic Dupont, said to NBC News, “Today was a sad day. There are no winners here. We lost an amazing human being.”

According to several confirmed reports, an additional dealer who sold the fatal dose of the drug to The Wire actor Michael K. Williams has pleaded guilty to a narcotics conspiracy charge. 

Irvin “Green Eyes” Cartagena was originally charged with narcotics conspiracy resulting in death, which could’ve resulted in a life sentence. Still, he pleaded to a lesser charge with a sentence of 24 to 30 years behind bars.

“I knew my actions were wrong and against the law,” Cartagena said via an interpreter. “I am very sorry for my actions.”

Cartagena is scheduled for sentencing in August.

Heroin Dealer Who Sold Drugs to Michael K. Williams Pleads Guilty

According to several confirmed reports, the dealer who sold the fatal dose of the drug to The Wire actor Michael K. Williams has pleaded guilty to a narcotics conspiracy charge. 

Irvin “Green Eyes” Cartagena was originally charged with narcotics conspiracy resulting in death, which could’ve resulted in a life sentence. Still, he pleaded to a lesser charge that carries a sentence of 24 to 30 years behind bars.

“I knew my actions were wrong and against the law,” Cartagena said via an interpreter. “I am very sorry for my actions.”

“The reality is there are no winners here,” said Williams’s nephew Dominic Dupont. “Michael was an amazing human being and to lose him is something that we’re still grappling with. The grieving process continues for myself and for my family.” 

Cartagena is scheduled for sentencing in August.

Michael K. Williams Laid To Rest, Funeral Held In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

The Wire actor Michael K. Williams is now laying in his final resting place.

Over 100 people gathered yesterday morning for Williams’ funeral in downtown Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Several celebrities attended the hour-long service at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral including Queen Latifah, creator of The Wire, David Simon, several co-stars of the show and more.

Family and friends of Williams say he visited Harrisburg often to see his mother as she lived in the area for over 20 years, and he made appearances for local charities and youth programs.

Williams was 54 when he was found dead in his Brooklyn, New York home on September 6th.

NYPD Looking For Drug Dealer Following Actor Michael K. Williams’ Death

As previously reported, famed actor Michael K. Williams was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment over the Labor Day weekend from an apparent overdose, and now the NYPD is searching for the individual who may have given Williams his last lethal dose.

Detectives from the NYPD are investigating Williams’ untimely death, which authorities are saying is heroin-related according to the narcotics found in the Brooklyn native’s apartment during the time of his death. The Wire actor was found dead in his home by a relative who hadn’t heard from him in a few days.

The NYPD is launching a criminal investigation to find the drug dealer who sold Williams the drugs. At the time of this writing, an official autopsy has not been conducted.
