Floyd Mayweather Clears Up Manny Pacquiao Match Rumors: “It’ll Never Be A Rematch”

Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn’t lacing up the gloves to fight Manny Pacquiao – again. The sports mogul has come forward to shut down speculation about a rematch going down.

On Monday, Money Mayweather went to Instagram to shoot down the idea of a follow-up to their 2015 match happening despite leaked footage suggesting it might.

Last year, Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza said fans should really expect a possible Mayweather/Pacquiao rematch happening..

“Having spoken to Floyd, I know he’s deadly serious about it. He’s very, very serious about wanting the fight.” The first one was a PPV record setter, and although there are a ton of people that wonder if this one would be as big (basically, some people don’t care) … Espinoza says next year, it’s LIT. “2019 sounds perfect. After I get a little bit of sleep after this event, we’ll go at Mayweather/Pacquiao 2, I think.” (TMZ)

In fall 2018, reports emerged about Mayweather possibly considering two comeback fights including a rematch with Manny.

It looks like Floyd is adjusting course a bit … ’cause sources close to TBE tell us he’s actually eyeing 2 comeback fights … starting with a massive boxing event in Tokyo. Couple of interesting points here … we’re told Floyd hasn’t yet picked an opponent — and he ain’t just lookin’ at boxers — he’s also checking out kickboxers and MMA fighters. We’re told Conor McGregor’s name has not been mentioned. (TMZ)

Last year, Floyd went to Twitter to confirm his intent on coming out of boxing retirement.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Explodes W/ Manny Pacquiao Message: “A Black, High School Dropout Outsmarted You All By Beating All Odds + Retiring Undefeated”

Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. has some things to get off his chest. The sports mogul has stepped forward to unload big feelings about always getting dragged into topics involving former opponent Manny Pacquiao.

Floyd went to Instagram last night and didn’t hold back on why Manny is no longer on his level and why he’s a top-notch prized fighter.

Back in January, boxer Adrien Broner jumped on his Instagram page with a Fashion Nova plug and shot of himself punching Manny in the face.

Earlier this year, Dipset leader Cam’ron poked fun at Broner’s crushing Manny loss.

Broner promised a strong comeback after taking his L at the hands of the 40-year-old boxer.

Adrien Broner Caught A Fade For The Hood, Clowned Epically For Thinking He Won

Twitter Clowns Adrien Broner After Losing To Pacquiao

Source: Christian Petersen / Getty

Boxing’s biggest loudmouth and disappointment Adrien Broner had an opportunity to make a statement last night (January 19). Instead, he was embarrassed by 40-year-old boxer Manny Pacquaio in a fight that wasn’t even close from the sound of the first bell.

He did it for the hood.

That’s what the Cincinnati native Broner claimed after the judges correctly and unanimously awarded Manny the decision for the very obvious ass whooping that even the blindfolded characters from Bird Box could see. In classic Broner form, the only entertainment he provided was his post-fight interview with Jim Gray where he was apparently still punch drunk and claimed he won the fight.

Broner was throwing more excuses than punches and even claimed that judges only sided with Manny to set up another fight between Pacquiao and “retired” boxer Floyd Mayweather who promoted the bout.

Broner not only suffered a vicious beat down in the ring, but his post-fight shenanigans also earned him a well-deserved dragging in his Fashion Nova fits up and down timelines on Twitter. Boxing fans lit him up like Manny did in the ring reminding the underachieving pugilist he did not win the fight and that the hood he supposedly did it for wanted nothing to do with him.

You can peep all of the hilarious slander in the gallery below.

Barring any setbacks, Manny and Adrien’s fight is going down in January.

Pacquiao’s motivation for the fight is to remind fans and critics alike he’s still nasty in the ring.

Speaking at a press conference in New York, Pacquiao said: “I want to entertain people and give a good show on 19 January … I want to fight the greatest fighters and greatest opponents in the world and one of them is Adrien Broner.” (The Guardian)
