Lil Scrappy Shares Current Thoughts on Rap Career

lilscrappy

Make many entertainers in the industry, there comes a time where a performer has to make a decision to keep the coins flowing. In a sit-down with Big Facts Podcast, Darryl Raynard Richardson, better known as Lil Scrappy has an open conversation about some of the decisions he had to make in his career, one including becoming a cast member of the popular VH1 reality show, Love and Hip Hop.

Scrappy was asked if joining reality television as a rapper was like “signing a death certificate” for their music career. “Yeah, I’ve seen it happen,” the Atlanta native answered.  “Before I even got into it, I was looking at [it], I was like, ‘Damn.’”

“But I thought about, I was like, ‘Sh*t, I ain’t even got a Rap career right now, so, you know what I’m saying, I don’t even give a f*ck,’” he continued.  “I didn’t even give a f*ck. And then for real, like, when I say I’m connected with the god that created me, like, he put something in me. He was just—like Bank said man—‘Just keep that sh*t gangster, be yourself, my n*gga.’”

Scrappy then shared that in his early stages of becoming a reality tv star, he was told that production would not be following him heavily, just enough to capture his love life. “Even if that, if you not careful, it’ll f*ck your whole love life up. And it done f*cked every last one of mine up. Just destroyed it.”

Scrappy is currently married to Adi “Bambi” Richardson after tying the knot in 2017. The couple shares two beautiful children together, Xylo and Breland Richardson.

Deb Antney Removes Fourteen Year Old Girl From Home Following Viral Video of Abusive Parents

Deb episode

There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding a viral clip of a fourteen-year-old girl being “disciplined” by her father and stepmother.

Thousands of individuals on social media were in rage as they watch the couple verbally abuse the little girl, followed by physical hitting. The stepmother tells the child to take her hair down, and when the little girl refused she grabbed the young girl by the head, causing the girl to try and flee from the altercation, but was unable to.

The entire thing was recorded on Instagram Live, which showed the father then run after the young girl and throwing her back into the room to be further assaulted by the couple.

The father posted a video explaining his actions behind the way he treated his daughter. The explanation wasn’t enough for social media watchers including Lil Scrappy as he stepped in to give his opinion on the matter. “So they say she is now safe with her grandmother, amen and thank God he is absolutely real, and now where is the parents. Let’s meet up so we all can get our frustrations off jack, that’s still ain’t right,” he penned.

Deb Antney uploaded a video showing that the fourteen-year-old, whose name is Trinity, is safe with her. “She Is Safe Now. Thank you @reallilscrappy for helping, She’s safe now! Thank you everyone for the support. She’s in good hands. I got her!” Deb captioned the video, where you can see a smiling Trinity waving at the camera.

“She’s safe now! Thank you everyone for the support. She’s in good hands. I got her! Allstate ain’t got nothing on me right now. So she is super good. She’s safe and she’s good. And people please stop making those fake pages and saying things that are really not true,” Deb says in the video.

It’s good to see Deb step in to help Trinity. We are happy to see the young Queen smiling!

Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta Tackles Alcoholism in Premiere

While we have seen many different types of disfunction on Love and Hip Hop, occasionally the franchise takes on subjects that are meaningful.

One of the strongest storylines this season is looking at Lil’ Scrappy’s mother, Mama Dee’s current bout with alcoholism. In the episode, it is clear that her health has been compromised, and a huge part of her recovery is for her to stay away from liquor. While she promises to stop, even swearing to God that if she makes it through her surgery she will never touch a drink again, her son still is concerned.

And he should be concerned.

According to Alcoholrehabguide.org, alcohol is the “most widely-used drug” used in the United States and based on a Johns Hopkins study, 20.4% of Blacks in this country between the ages of 12 and 20 drink liquor in a month. That statistic is startling.

The study reveals that there are variables that add to the reasons why African-Americans drink. Some of them are minority stress, anxiety, and depression.

That research also shows that even though white people drink more, Blacks are more likely to have major health problems like cirrhosis of the liver. In fact, Blacks are 1.27 times more likely to get the disease than their white counterparts. They are also more likely to die of alcohol-abuse (10% higher), even with there being fewer people drinking in the country.

No wonder why Scrap and his wifey, The Bam are so concerned. Mama Dee has a huge battle ahead of her.

Tune in this season to see she sticks to her word and swears off the booze.

Viewers can tune in tonight for the season premiere for the Atlanta franchise (#LHHATL) on VH1 or check out any of the Love and Hip-Hop shows on the streaming service Philo: https://try.philo.com/.
