Does Lil Rel Howery look like T-Pain? Some people think so!

The comedian and actor is best known for his role as Robert Carmichael in The Carmichael Show on CBS, as well as Rod Williams in the horror film Get Out. He also recently played a role in the release of Good Burger 2.

Last week during the BMF premiere in Los Angeles, The Source caught up with Lil Rel Howery about the moment he fell with Hip-Hop, getting mistaken for T-Pain, and more!

How many times have you been mistaken for T-Pain?

Oh wow. [laughs] More than you would think actually, which is weird. Me and T laugh at it all the time, but a lot more than you think. I think we should do something together, I’ma have to put him in one of my movies with me. We sound alike too. We sound like clones, it’s so weird.

What was the moment you fell in love with Hip-Hop?

Wow, that’s a great question. Honestly, I fell in love with Hip-Hop because of the weekend. I loved Hip-Hop before that, but when I fell in love with it was when I heard “Triumph” man. One of the best group songs ever created.

What’re you most excited for being here at the BMF premiere?

The one thing I’m most excited about is seeing the new episode! It’s a cliff-hanger for me. I love the show. When I saw Meech and his friend cut them off, I want to see how my mans react to that. Is he going to do something dirty? Is he bitter about it? It’s going to be very interesting, I can’t wait to see.

What else are you working on?

We got a movie coming out. We Grown Now out coming out of April with me and Jurnee Smollett, so excited about it. Then Harold and the Purple Crayon August 2nd, it’s for families. I showed it to my family a couple weeks ago. It’s going be a big movie this summer. Children are going to absolutely love it.

Lil Rel In Custody Drama With His Baby’s Mother And Her Husband

Talk about baby mama drama!

Famed comedian Lil Rel Howery is embroiled in a messy custody battle for his son after learning that his ex has made both him and her current husband think that they are both the father of her two year old son.

Chicago native Rel says in recently filed documents in court that his baby’s mother is claiming two men and the father of their two year old son. She told the Get Out he was the father and he has financially supported the child since birth. He says she told him the child had his last name and he often flew the child from Illinois to Los Angeles to visit him. He claims she also told him she was divorced.

Rel now claims that his child’s mother, LeChez Davis, put her husband’s name on the child’s birth certificate instead of that of Howery.

Last month, Rel took the DNA test and found out that he is indeed the father of the two year old baby boy.

Howery is seeking full custody and wants to move his son with him to Los Angeles.

Lil Rel Says he Feels Bad for Katt Williams

Lil Rel stopped by Two Bees TV ahead of the premiere of the second episode of his series, Rel, at the 2018 Urbanworld Film Festival. He was one of the victims of Katt Williams’ rant about undeserving comedians so of course that was a hot topic.

He discussed many things including, why he decided to cast social media comedian, Jess Hilarious, as his best friend on the show. But when asked about his thoughts in regards to what Katt said about him he admitted that he felt bad for him.

“There’s a reason why most of us haven’t given him jobs. He’s so talented, so funny, but I don’t know what he’s really angry about.” Rel continued, “The crazy thing is, maybe like five years ago he pulled me to the side and was like, ‘you going to be a star one day. Don’t let them burn you out’”

Eventually he went on to say that he still had respect for the legendary comedian, and that he was still a fan.

During the Q&A moderated by Blogxilla amid the screening, he explained what happened backstage at the Emmys when he crossed paths with Katt. Lil Rel said that when he heard Dave Chappelle showing him love, he just walked away. However, he was photographed on his knees and hugging Tiffany Haddish.
