Man Injured in Nipsey Hussle Shooting Released From Jail

The man that was wounded in the Nipsey Hussle shooting was finally released from jail.

Kerry Lathan was one of the other two men shot during the incident and was thrown in jail for allegedly violating his parole and associating with a known gang member, which is the late rapper. Lathan’s lawyer, Lauren Noriega, told the Daily News that her client is once again a free man.

“He’s very excited to be home with his family,” Noriega told the publication before detailing how the shooting has affected her client’s health.

“He’s still got the bullet in his back, and I don’t think they’re gonna remove that because it is so close to the spine, so he’s dealing with a lot of physical pain,” she stated. “Other than that he’s very pleased to be with his family.”

Nipsey Hussle fans were also glad to know that charges have been dropped and Lathan is free to celebrate his granddaughter’s birthday next month.

Survivor From Nipsey Hussle Shooting Expected to be Released From Jail

The man who was arrested for a parole violation after he was shot with Nipsey Hussle is expected to be released.

Kerry Lathan, 56, was arrested because his parole prohibits him from associating with known gang members, and the late rapper is a member of the Rolling 60’s Crips. Lathan said in a recent interview that he didn’t know the “Racks in the Middle” rapper prior and that he was just there shopping before Eric Holder came and opened gun fire.

After getting hospitalized, Lathan was transferred to Men’s Central Jail in downtown L.A.but TMZ reports that the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation withdrew its petition to revoke his parole.

There’s no telling why the Corrections Department made this decision. Presumably because Nipsey Hussle has been celebrated as a community hero and exemplary leader who promote black ownership and financial literacy. He got love from L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti to President Obama and the LAPD.

Ironically, he was scheduled to meet with the LAPD alongside Roc Nation to discuss combating gang violence.

Survivor in Nipsey Hussle Shooting Speaks Out After Arrest, Says he Didn’t Know Rapper Prior

The day Nipsey Hussle was murdered, two other people got hit in the shooting.

One victim didn’t suffer any injuries, meanwhile, 56-year-old Kerry Lathan was arrested after being hospitalized for allegedly violating his parole. Lathan was released a couple months about after serving 24 years of a 25 year to life sentence for murder. Part of his parole conditions is not to affiliate with any known gang members, and because Nip was a member of the Rolling 60’s Crips, Lathan returned to jail. “Tell me what’s happening? Y’all released me, and now you want to put me back into prison for coming in contact with a gang member, who’s really a voice of reason for the public. Which is it?” Lathan said in a recent interview, while sitting in a wheel chair, claiming his arrest is completely unjust.

He claims that he never had any connections to the rapper prior to the shooting. When the Victory Lap rapper learned Lathan was recently released from prison, he hooked him up with some more clothes from The Marathon store. That’s when Eric Holder came to the parking lot and opened fire.

Victim in Fatal Nipsey Hussle Shooting Arrested for Violating Parole

Many have been wondering about the status of the victims involved in the fatal shooting of Nipsey Hussle. One of the victims have been arrested for violating their parole, which is, hanging out with a gang member whom the LAPD recognize as being Nipsey, TMZ reports.

A 56-year-old man by the name of Kerry Lathan was one of the three people who was shot in Hyde Park on March 31, however, he survived. Lathan was rushed to a local hospital that Sunday where he was treated and released, confined to a wheelchair. Due to the tragic event, he is currently unable to walk.

Lathan was arrested on Friday (April 12), at the halfway house he resides in L.A. According to the LAPD, the acknowledged gang member Lathan was in affiliation with is Nipsey Hussle, who was notably a member of the Rolling 60’s Crips. On the day of the shooting, Hussle and Lathan went to the late Victory Lap artist’s clothing store, The Marathon Clothing, to help Lathan out with some fresh garments for his coming reunion with his family after being incarcerated for 20 years for murder. He was just released from prison from serving the respective bid.

In lieu of his arrest, the authorities are making an attempt to revoke his parole. This means Lathan faces the chance of going back into prison due to violating his parole. The violation, in this case, is hanging out with Nipsey Hussle on the day on the beloved creative’s murder, a meeting that was sanctioned in an endowment. Kerry Lathan is currently being held at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown L.A.
