Tina Knowles Is Confident that Jay-Z Will Find Success As NFL Owner

Tina Lawson Announces New Facebook Watch Series 'Talks with Mama Tina'

Tina Knowles is sure that Jay-Z will have success as an NFL owner.

TMZ recently caught up with Tina Knowles at LAX to ask about her son-in-law’s potential next business venture.

“I have no doubt that anything that they put their minds to, they can do it well,” Knowles said.

TMZ Sports reported Jay-Z and Jeff Bezos meeting in Los Angeles to allegedly discuss the Washington Commanders’ purchase. The two billionaires kept the meeting extremely private as they entered the restaurant.

Bezos was joined by his girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez, while Hov was joined unexpectedly by Corey Gamble.

Knowles joins Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Undisputed host Shannon Sharpe in co-signing Jay-Z, the next successful NFL owner.

There is no guarantee that Washington Commanders owner, Dan Snyder, will part ways with the team. Just in case he does any time soon, Jay-Z and Hov are reportedly preparing to make a move.

Van Jones Honored with Jeff Bezos’ Courage and Civility Award, Receives $100M for Non-Profit Organizations

CNN's Van Jones Reportedly Felt Ambushed After 'The View' Host Said 'The Black Community Don’t Trust You Anymore'

CNN personality and Dream Corps founder Van Jones was awarded the courage and Civility Award by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. As a part of the honor, Bezos presented Jones with $100 million to gift to the non-profit organizations of his choice.

The Courage & Civility Award recognizes leaders who aim high, pursue solutions with courage, and always do so with civility. The recognition comes on the 25-year anniversary of the first organization Jones co-founded, The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights (1996). In the years following Jones has co-founded Color Of Change (2005), Green for All (2007), Dream Corps (2011) and REFORM Alliance (2019).

After receiving the award, Jones released the following statement:

I am beyond honored to accept Jeff Bezos’ inaugural Courage & Civility Award. I do so with a sense of gratitude, awe and wonder. In my 30 years as an activist and social entrepreneur, I have neither heard nor dreamed of a charitable prize of this magnitude.

Even the award’s title both inspires and intimidates. After all, nobody is courageous and kind, 100 percent of the time. I get scared and irritable, just like everyone else. But the truth is: the work I do has taught me what courage & civility LOOK like and what grace FEELS like.

That’s because I labor so closely with people whose grit and grace are almost otherworldly.

Leaders like Alice Marie Johnson, Michael “Harry O” Harris, David Safavian, Topeka Sam, Shaka Senghor, Louis L. Reed, and LaTonya Myers — among many others — blow me away on a daily basis. Out of the nightmare of America’s prisons, they emerged with their dreams and dignity intact. Their efforts today are moving us all toward a more just, humane and merciful society. As the founder of the Dream Corps, I am proud to be their ally in the work of transforming the criminal legal system – and many other dysfunctional systems.

From prisons, jails and detention centers … to tough urban neighborhoods … to Appalachian coal country … to Native American reservations … to the U.S./Mexico border — I see too much genius wasted. I have seen too many promising changemakers fail because they could not simultaneously be expert fundraisers.

And yet today’s escalating social and ecological crises require us to directly empower more visionaries and solutionaries from struggling communities – and connect them to the resources and networks they need to thrive. Formerly incarcerated leaders often tell me: “Those closest to the problems are closest to the solutions, but farthest from resources and power.”

I will use this prize to help reverse that sad irony, as best I can. Breakthroughs of all kinds are just waiting to be discovered — especially at the intersection of advanced technology and community wisdom. When leaders are willing to work together across lines of race and party, they can discover workable solutions to seemingly intractable problems. And when we help grassroots changemakers access (and unleash) the power of technology, finance and media – we can take those innovations powerfully to scale. I have seen that process work, using only modest resources. With major resources, the sky is the limit.

Speaking of that: in this time of challenge and peril, I am glad that new astronauts are lifting the ceiling off humanity’s dreams, again. I am inspired whenever someone reaches for the heavens. There is always more heaven up there that the rest of us can reach for – each in our own way.

If a small number of humans can make miracles happen in space, then a large number of humans can make bigger miracles happen here on Earth. I thank God for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help leaders across the country do just that.

Elon Musk Surpasses Jeff Bezos as the Richest Man in the World Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Elon Musk Surpasses Jeff Bezos As The Richest Man In The World Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Elon Musk is now the richest man in the world by passing Jeff Bezos’s net worth by about $10 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Tesla chief executive Musk’s net worth totaled around $195 billion Thursday, up from roughly $30 billion a year ago.  The value of Tesla’s shares rose almost 8% Thursday, enough for Mr. Musk to overtake Mr. Bezos in the wealth ranking. The jump in the price of Tesla stock boosted the value of his wealth on paper to more than $188 billion! Now, Tesla’s value of $768 billion is greater than that of Ford, GM, Volkswagen, and Toyota combined.

Responding on Twitter to an account that pointed out he was now the world’s richest person, Musk tweets, “How strange.” Later he added, “Well, back to work …”

In addition to Musk’s title of the world’s richest man in the world, the record happened during a pandemic that has ground the world’s market to a halt. During the early months of quarantine, Musk was criticized for repeated attempts to keep Tesla’s plant open. Musk was also criticized for bringing workers back onto the line as COVID-19 raged.

However, this record marks an unlikely turnaround for Musk. Months ago, Tesla’s stock appeared to have bottomed out due to legal and regulatory fears, as well as concerns about Musk’s leadership. Musk’s famous tweet about having “funding secured” to take Tesla private in August 2018, kicked off a slew of regulatory battles that plunged Musk’s status as CEO into question.

By 2019 Tesla faced concerns over demand, mounting losses, and a shortage of cash. Its stock dropped to a near-term low around June 2019. Now, Musk is set to qualify for options to buy another 16.9 million shares of Tesla early this year. Those options would be worth $12.3 billion at the shares’ current value, after taking into account the exercise price.

Finally, Bezos isn’t the only one that Musk caught up to Thursday. ExxonMobil (XOM), the United States’ most valuable oil company, had a market value at midday Thursday of just under $191 billion. So Musk, for the time being, is at least worth more than America’s largest oil company.

Jeff Bezos Stanned For Lizzo At The Super Bowl, Twitter Demands He Pay Taxes

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos Attends Amazon's Annual Smbhav Event In Delhi

Source: Mint / Getty

Billionaire philanthropist and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos might look like Lex Luthor on the outside but he’s every bit a Jimmy Olson on the inside. At least when it comes to Lizzo.

During last Sunday’s Super Bowl’s festivities, the richest man in the world geeked out when he ran into one of the biggest stars in music entertainment and took to Twitter to reveal he’s “100% @lizzo’s biggest fan.”

While the tweet seemed innocent enough, the Twitterverse was not impressed and went on to call him out for paying zero taxes for his billion dollar conglomerate while everyday Americans hustling 9 to 5’s continue to make ends meet. Not to mention the fact that his employees constantly complain about the abusive conditions they’re subjected to while getting minimum wage. This past December alone Amazon workers joined a activists outside of Bezo’s $80 million dollar penthouse in Manhattan to protest Amazon’s warehouse working conditions.

Peep some of the responses to Bezo’s pic below and let us know your thoughts on the reactions.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos Says National Enquirer Threatening To Leak Nudes #BezosBlackmail

Amazon Prime Video's Golden Globe Awards After Party - Arrivals

Source: Morgan Lieberman / Getty

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is in the center of a controversy regarding his affair and impending divorce, and he’s addressed the potential of blackmail by one of the nation’s top tabloids. In an op-ed piece, Bezos blasted the National Enquirer about threatening to leak nude photos of him and welcoming the fallout should it come.

In the op-ed published on Medium, Bezos doesn’t shy away from the potential for exposure in revealing that AMI, the company which owns the Enquirer and noting publication owner David Pecker’s alignment with President Donald Trump, made him an offer to keep intimate conversations from the public eye.

From Medium:

Back to the story: Several days ago, an AMI leader advised us that Mr. Pecker is “apoplectic” about our investigation. For reasons still to be better understood, the Saudi angle seems to hit a particularly sensitive nerve.

A few days after hearing about Mr. Pecker’s apoplexy, we were approached, verbally at first, with an offer. They said they had more of my text messages and photos that they would publish if we didn’t stop our investigation.

My lawyers argued that AMI has no right to publish photos since any person holds the copyright to their own photos, and since the photos in themselves don’t add anything newsworthy.

AMI’s claim of newsworthiness is that the photos are necessary to show Amazon shareholders that my business judgment is terrible. I founded Amazon in my garage 24 years ago, and drove all the packages to the post office myself. Today, Amazon employs more than 600,000 people, just finished its most profitable year ever, even while investing heavily in new initiatives, and it’s usually somewhere between the #1 and #5 most valuable company in the world. I will let those results speak for themselves.

Talk your sh*t, King.

The entire piece is a fascinating slap in the face towards the tabloid and you can read the rest of Jeff Bezos stunting on the National Enquirer here.

Meek Mill Spotted With Jeff Bezos During Super Bowl Weekend

Contrary to popular opinion, (mainly Soulja Boy) it is pretty evident that Meek Mill had the biggest comeback of the previous year.

Though it has almost been a year since the Philadelphia rapper’s release from prison, his stock continues to rise to new heights that even he would have never imagined. Since his release, he has been the face of criminal justice reform in this country.

Meek’s was controversially incarcerated  31-year-old rapper violated probation. Though both the prosecutor and the probation officer recommended to his presiding judge, Hon. Genece Brinkley that Meek not face any jail time for the non-criminal infraction, he did do a stint behind bars. Judge Brinkley ignored their recommendations and sentenced Meek a 2-4 year sentence which caused outrage and protest in the Black community. He was released from prison in April of 2018. Upon release, he was greeted by comedian Kevin Hart and 76ers co-owner, Michael Rubin. The two whisked him to the local team’s game and he was celebrated by friends and fans alike. Since his release he has been a strong advocate for prison reform, using his celebrity to shift the conversation on a national level.

His relationship with Rubin,  Patriot’s owner Robert Kraft and Jay-Z has aided in his efforts to fight for injustice.

As the old saying goes, surround yourself with people who push you. It is evident that Meek Mill is doing just that.

During Super Bowl weekend, Mill was pictured with Kraft, Rubin and the world’s wealthiest individual, Jeff Bezos. His caption stated, “Dream chasers … patriots … Amazon ….fanatics still going bad on em anyway Williams …Kraft…. bezos…Rubin.”

It is likely that the  31 year-old artist plans to establish a relationship with Bezos. It will only up his profile and put him closer to those who can advance his agenda.

Jeff Bezos’ Messages To Mistress Lauren Sanchez Are Messy As F*ck, Allegedly

Days after Jeff Bezos‘ billion-dollar divorce from MacKenzie Bezos was announced, racy messages he allegedly sent to Lauren Sanchez have been released for the world to see. Brace yourself, Bezos may be the richest man on the planet but he’s no expert in sexting.

“I love you, alive girl. I will show you with my body, and my lips and my eyes, very soon,” he allegedly wrote to former So You Think You Can Dance host Lauren Sanchez. Let’s also note Sanchez is a married woman, the wife of talent agent Patrick Whitesell to be exact, though Sanchez and Bezos started dating after separating from their respective spouses…allegedly.

25th Anniversary Celebration Of 'Extra'

From Page Sixz: “Jeff Bezos, 54, sent a picture of his private parts and several shirtless shots — including one where he’s wearing just a towel and a grin — to Sanchez, 49, months before they supposedly started dating in ‘the fall’ after separating from their respective spouses, the Enquirer reported. A source close to Bezos has claimed to The Post he and MacKenzie Bezos, 48, a novelist, separated last year “and then Jeff and Lauren started dating.”

“But the Bezoses were spotted celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in Miami in September, sources say — while the raunchy texts published in the Enquirer date back many months before that,” the site goes on to speculate.

If you liked the Amazon founder’s first message, get into more of his smooth wooing technique below:

The National Enquirer reports that on May 13 of last year, he messaged Sanchez, “I want to smell you, I want to breathe you in. I want to hold you tight.… I want to kiss your lips…. I love you. I am in love with you.”

“You know what I want? I want to get a little drunk with you tonight. Not falling down. Just a little drunk. I want to talk to you and plan with you. Listen and laugh,” he reportedly wrote on June 1 along with a picture.

“I basically WANT TO BE WITH YOU!!! Then I want to fall asleep with you and wake up tomorrow and read the paper with you and have coffee with you,” he continued. “You make me better. You’re meant for me. I know it more clearly than I’ve ever known anything.”

Will Bernie Sanders Back Down? Amazon Has Raised Minimum Wage to $15

According to Reuters, digital retailer Amazon.com Inc is about to put a little extra paper into the pockets of some of their employees.

Earlier today, the major distribution platform said that it would raise its minimum wage to $15 per hour for U.S. employees next month. In the past, Amazon has received criticism about sweatshop salaries for workers that work crazy hours for next to nothing. Considering that it is the world’s second most valuable company, one would think that the platform would compensate their workers better. Apparently, the suits at Amazon have heard the clarion call and made the shift. Now they will pay their lowest tier employees more than their competition, Walmart and Target.

But let’s not celebrate too quickly, they remain below the average non-management worker in American warehousing industries, which has sparked political challenges from politicians like Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Ro Khanna who have come up with legislation to check companies who they to beat the system on the blood, sweat, and tears of the poor., Sanders and Khanna have cleverly using the name of Amazon’s CEO to come up with a bill that has the sole aim to break the cycle of Goliath exploiting the Davids of the world. Their bill is called Stop Bad Employers by Zeroing Out Subsidies Act (abbreviated “Stop BEZOS”) and it would tax big business companies like Amazon, Walmart, and Target for the cost of employees’ food stamps and other public assistance and would institute a 100 percent tax on government benefits that are granted to their employees, according to The Verge.

Many call it the “corporate welfare tax.” Such a tax would surely piss President Trump off as it would affect corporations with 500 or more employees and have decided to play sweatshop even in 2018. The bill will hit companies who have workers are receiving government aid like foodies (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program SNAP), free school lunch and breakfast programs, Section 8 housing subsidies, or Medicaid.

“We listened to our critics, thought hard about what we wanted to do, and decided we want to lead,” founder and Chief Executive Jeff Bezos said in a statement.

The pay increase will be in effect in November, just in time for the new hires that are sure to come during the holiday season. It is estimated that over 250,000 US workers will get that extra ching ching. What a way to end the year… but clearly more work is left for this billion dollar company to do.
