Apple Set to Reveal New iPads and MacBooks at Their First Brooklyn Press Conference

After unveiling new iPhones and Apple Watches at its Gather Round event in September, Apple announced a separate event that’s expected to focus on the iPad and Mac.  The Verge reports that Apple distributed media invites for an October 30th event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The event’s tagline is “there’s more in the making,” and techies believe that Apple will finally showcase their iPad Pro and low-cost MacBook Air. Rumors claim that the new iPad will convert to the USB-C charging port that is used by the new Samsungs and other Droid devices, and will feature 11 and 12.9-inch display sizes. It is also speculated that the new MacBook will be in the Air series, which will use a cheaper display screen to cut costs.

The event will be live-streamed at 10 a.m. Eastern, coming right between the October 26 release date of the iPhone XR and the November 1 release of Apple’s fourth-quarter 2018 earnings report.

The Apple event isn’t the only out of the ordinary thing that’s happened at BAM recently; they just hosted a week of Jimmy Kimmel Live shows. For the final night of Kimmel’s Brooklyn run, Wu-Tang Clan stormed the ornate opera house, performing “Protect Ya Neck” and “C.R.E.A.M.” from their 1993 debut album (which turns 25 soon) Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
