Quavo Produced his Own Horror Film ‘The Resort’

Quavo took to Twitter to unveil his most recent endeavor.

The Migos rapper is serving as the producer for the upcoming horror movie, The Resort. He didn’t reveal much details about the project other than his excitement. “Wow Jus WATCH MY FIRST HORROR FILM I PRODUCED,” he tweeted teasing the movie would be “coming soon.”

The only thing we do know is that Quavo tagged William Meldman, who is the founder of Double Down Pictures.

Meldman provided a behind the scenes look of the editing process in March. “Having a blast in the editing bay with the squad today 🎬 #TheResortMovie #ComingSoon #Casamigos in the studio,” the caption read.

There’s reason to believe that this horror film may be animated because the Atlanta rapper linked up with Imagine Entertainment co-founder Brian Grazer for an animated “transformative franchise.”

“I’ve loved animation my whole life whether on TV or in movies and I wanted my first jump into this premium content world to be a show just for kids,” Quavo said at the time. “It will definitely reflect the creativity, love, and families in and around the NAWF side of Atlanta where we grew up.”

Are y’all ready for the release of The Resort?

Big Boi & Kid Cudi to Join ‘Creepshow’ TV Series

Back in 1982, Stephen King and George A. Romero collaborated to give the world the horror classic Creepshow. It has been announced that the reboot of Creepshow will feature Hip-Hop icons, Big Boi of OutKast and Chicago’s finest Kid Cudi. To make sure that the viewers are scared out of their minds, Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator), Bruce Davison (X-Men), and DJ Qualls (The Man in the High Castle) have all been tapped for the remake of the series.

According to the show’s description: The new series has numerous connections that trace back to the Reagan Era franchise. The series features adaptations of a King story as well as one by his son, Joe Hill, who portrayed the comic-book-loving kid Billy in the original. Adrienne Barbeau, Tom Savini, John Harrison are among the “legacy” participants with ties to the 1982 film or its 1987 sequel.

Big Boi and Kid Cudi will be featured in desperate episodes. Kid Cudi and Combs will star in the episode Bad Wolf Down, written and directed by Rob Schrab. Davison will star in Night of the Paw, written by John Esposito. Big Boi is featured in The Man in the Suitcase, written by Christopher Buehlman and directed by Dave Bruckner. DJ Qualls will star in The Finger, a previously unannounced Creepshow story written by David J. Schow and directed by showrunner Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead).

The classic Creepshow film was led by two giants of the horror genre, Night Of The Living Dead director George A. Romero and the legendary best-selling author Stephen King. The film was released in 1982 and a sequel, Creepshow 2, was released in 1987.

The TV version of Creepshow will debut on Shudder, a streaming service that caters to the horror genre, later this year. Greg Nicotero, a director/producer for the hit show The Walking Dead, is serving as the showrunner.

RZA & Ghostface Killah Are Making A Horror Movie Based On Wu’s Real Life Experiences

This week, Wu-Tang Clan is screening its upcoming documentary Of Mics And Men at the Sundance Film Festival. While promoting the four-part Showtime doc, RZA and Ghostface Killah revealed that they have another film endeavor on the horizon, a Suspense Horror feature. RZA (aka Robert Diggs) will direct. Meanwhile, the story comes from none other than Ghostface Killah (aka Dennis Coles). This storyline is rooted in Wu’s real-life upbringing in the project houses of Staten Island. According to Deadline, the two Wu co-founders have teamed with Oscar-nominated producer Shaun Reddick (BlacKkKlansman, Get Out) and his Impossible Dream Entertainment to bring this project to screen. RZA said told the publication, “The creative collaboration of RZA and Ghostface [Killah] has stood the test of time through our music. Now the opportunity to put our creative energies together onto the silver screen has arisen and I’m turbo charged.” Including in a 2014 conversation with Ambrosia For Heads, Ghostface has long compared writing Rap songs and arranging albums to movie-making. Wu-Tang Clan’s Documentary Trailer Shows 9 MCs’ Triumph Through Life With Mics Ghost’ worked on the story with longtime manager Mike Caruso. Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith have taken that story to script. Meanwhile, as RZA scores the film, G.F.K. and Caruso are at the helm for a soundtrack of all new music from Wu-Tang Clan and presumably, some of the group’s affiliates. Deadline‘s Mike Fleming, Jr. details the premise as follows: “‘Casey’ is a normal yet exceptionally smart teenager and talented rapper but after the mysterious death of his parents he’s been forced to grow up in New York’s roughest inner-city streets (known as ‘Shaolin’ in Wu-Tang folklore), basically on his own. As life in the hood around him gets tragically worse, he must put his skills to the test to survive not only the gangs, corrupt cops, junkies and bullies, but a serial killer with seemingly supernatural powers dubbed ‘Angel Of Dust’ by the media.” Ghostface Killah Releases His First Song Of The Year & He’s Shining For the last 20 years, RZA has moved into Hollywood while maintaining his music career. The Abbott has been acting in film since 1999’s Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai. He made his directorial debut with 2012’s The Man With The Iron Fists. RZA followed with 2017’s Love Beats Rhymes. He is also producing Thriller, which debuted on the festival circuit last year. Meanwhile, Ghost’ has appeared in handfuls of movies and TV shows, typically playing himself. Next month (February 15), Ghostface will team fellow Clansmen Inspectah Deck (along with his CZARFACE collective) to release Czarface Meets Ghostface. Late last year, they dropped the “Iron Claw” single. Additionally, Wu has a 10-part documentary that is expected to arrive on Hulu later this year. JOSEPHNSPARROWB – “X” (Album Review)

Releasing two previous projects this year, Doom Hip-Hop’s JOSEPHNSPARROWB makes a surprising new entry for 2018 with a conceptual effort simply known as, X. Known for his custom sound compiled of Lo-Fi Hip-Hop, Doom Rap, and Metal. JOSEPHNSPAAROWB astonish with a new era sound set to bring a new sub-genre to the limelight.

X, a story about a man whose done horrible things in his life and has died without closure. Stuck in a limbo, between life and death, as a ghost, introspecting on his wrong-doing. Intriguing story, JOSEPHNSPARROWB pitches a body of work that will set him apart from majority of the new artists looking to breakout in 2019.

Stream JOSEPHNSPARROWB’s new album, X, below, courtesy of Soundcloud.

Inviting; however, the production on X is fringe often among the 11-track effort. With the production establishing the tone, it is frightful but fails to be terrifying enough to solidify a groundbreaking foundation to transform the project into a must-hear. Due to the project’s organization, X can’t find a smooth path and often jumps around, causing an unignored distraction.

As the production decay by the end of the project, the story’s lyricism sticks to the script and tells a great scary story. Using realism to emphasize an original horror, JOSEPHNSPARROWB’s story-telling will be known as the rising star’s most valuable technique. “Teen Suicide” is the rising star’s most confident track on the project and an exceptional finale.

Dark, suspenseful, and convincing. X is an acquired taste that will grow on new listeners through time. The project established value through its unique story-telling and keen execution. The project’s tone establish dominance. While unfamiliar territory, exploring the new project will be fulfilling for all whom embark.

Rating: 8/10
