Tank Sparks Debate After Saying a Man Performing Oral Sex Twice Doesn’t Make Him Gay

Earlier this week Tank sparked a debate on social media about sexuality and what makes a man gay.

The R&B singer sat down with Angela Ye for her Lip Service podcast to promote his new album, Elevation. The co-hosts Stephanie Santiago, GiGi Maguire, and Lore’l started the conversation about men who lie.

Lore’L shared her experience dealing with an old flame who was a terrible liar. Tank chimed in, “He’s not a liar. He just lied twice,” to which Yee responded, “wouldn’t that be enough to make you a liar?”

“So, let’s say a guy sucked a d**k one time,” Yee countered, to which Tank exclaimed, “Jesus Christ!” “Let’s say twice,” Yee continued, before rhetorically asking if that would make a man gay.

And to much of the ladies surprise, the vetern R&B singer said that doesn’t necessarily make a man gay. To give him benefit of the doubt, he did say “twice is excessive,” but he offered an explanation for his response.

“He sucked a d**k once, right? Then, he’s like I’m not sure if I liked it or not. Let me try it again, and then he says, ‘You know what? It’s not for me. Don’t like the taste.’ See what I’m saying?” he elaborated. “It doesn’t mean he’s gay,” he concluded. “It means he sucked d**k twice. The art of being gay is being gay. It’s a continuous state of being.”

The Breakfast Club co-host brought the original topic back, “So, if you lie 10 times, then you’re not a liar?” “Well, 10 times…you a damn near pro,” Tank admitted good-naturedly.

The conversation below sparked a polarizing debate. LGBTQ+ community members applauded the crooner for understanding that sexual activities isn’t the only thing that makes you gay. Meanwhile others were like …

Does Tank have a point? Check out the interview below:

Tyler, The Creator Calls Jaden “Crazy” Regarding His “Boyfriend” Comment

By now everyone knows about the friendship between Jaden Smith and Tyler, The Creator.

Still the nature of their relationship is still hazy. Are they simply best friends or are they a little more?

Over the weekend at the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival , Jaden put out there new and interesting facts about their relationship. He started off by saying he was the best friend he could ever have. But then he declares with a slight chuckle that Tyler is his “muthaf*ckin boyfriend!” In the video below, posted on DJ Akademiks’ IG, you can see Tyler immediately hopping up and wagging his finger “no” and later falling back and laughing.

Perhaps this is all a joke? Jaden did giggle a little while saying it. The two are also extremely frat-boy-prankish in how they engage their fans and how they troll the thin line between the characters they are in their music and who they really are in their real lives. Later, Jaden kept it going on social media by saying:

And Tyler replied in good sport, “hahaha you a crazy n*gga man.”

Social media, Hip-Hop/ entertainment news outlets and v(b)loggers had a field day either taunting the sexuality of these two twenty somethings or defending their right to same gender loving. Some even suggesting that him wagging his finger was not strong enough to deny the truth of what Jaden is saying. Some are questioning about why is Jaden “crazy?” Is he “hahaha” crazy or did he bump his head? Does it matter? If so, why does it matter to us? After all, both rappers have toyed with the public on their records, in films and in social media for years. Who can forget when Tyler tweeted this out to fans?

Or the kiss that Jaden had with another guy on Netflix’s “The Get Down,” which either proved he had done that before or was a really great actor?

We can’t forget that they are really friends and have a whole lot of fun trolling folk!

Regardless of the many lyrics that the two have about sexual fluidity, the fashion campaigns that they have rocked wearing dresses or tweets shot out there, true fans believe that this was a ploy to expose the homophobic nature of Hip-Hop that still exists and giving the two (and their crew) more fodder to laugh at from their intellectually enlightened towers. This is about conversation and opening up in a space where toxic masculinity dominates, Hip-Hop.

We’ve come a long way since Wendy wanted to expose the gay rapper… now this generation of Hip-Hoppers are daring you to do it… and snatching the power away from your threat.

Jaden Smith Says Tyler, The Creator is his Boyfriend

This weekend’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival was lit. From performances to unexpected proclamations, there were plenty of newsworthy moments. From a Kids See Ghosts’ performance to Tyler, The Creator sporadically popping up in the crowd, all eyes were at the event this weekend. One thing that Jaden Smith said during his show surprised people though. He’s shown love to Tyler in the past but who knew what type of love it was.

Both Jaden and Tyler aren’t afraid of the negative stigma attached to homosexuality in Hip Hop. Smith caused an uproar for rocking a skirt for his Louis Vuitton campaign. Tyler has also rapped in the past about “kissing white boys since 2004.”

During his performance last night, Jaden told the crowd that if there’s one thing he wants them to take away from his set, it’s that he and Tyler are “boyfriends.” After he dropped the bomb, the camera panned to Tyler, who was wearing a mask, and you can see him saying no. There’s no telling if he’s trolling or not, but Jaden is keeping it going via social media.

After Smith called him his “best friend” in the world on stage, he revealed that Tyler was against him revealing that the two were a couple.
