YNW Melly Believes He Will Beat Double Homicide Charges in Next 6 Months

a

YNW Melly recently told one Hip-Hop blogger that he will be home from jail this year. According to DJ Akademiks who says he spoke to the currently incarcerated rapper, Melly said “I’m coming home 2020.”

The “Murder on My Mind” rapper is currently locked up on double homicide charges in Florida. According to police, Melly allegedly shot and killed two of his former friends while his affiliate YNW Bortlen attempted to stage the shooting as a drive by.

Melly was arrested in February 2019, and plead not guilty in March 2019. Investigators claim they have more than enough evidence that places the rapper at the scene of the murder. Soon after Melly’s not guilty plea, the prosecution moved to seek the death penalty.

Melly’s career was on the rise before he was incarcerated, but it seems to have taken new leaps and bounds after he was the subject of the murder investigation. The “Murder on My Mind” single reached RIAA Gold status while Melly was behind bars.

YNW Bortlen who allegedly staged the murder was released on bond and house arrest on May 23. Melly was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 while in jail but was denied release.

Eminem Logic Homicide

Grammy-winning rapper Eminem and Logic have come through on their highly-anticipated new anthem. The duo’s “Homicide” has premiered online and features both emcees dropping lyrical bars.

On Friday, Logic’s latest single arrived and delivers non-stop hard-hitting lyrics.

On Wednesday, both Em and Logic revealed their song’s cover art plus release date.

The new track is the latest from Logic’s upcoming solo album.

“Homicide” is the third song to be released off Logic’s upcoming album, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, following “Keanu Reeves” and the title track. While the two rappers don’t have a long history of working together, Eminem recently tapped Logic to open for him at a concert at Aloha Stadium in February. Over the weekend, a shooting incident in Chicago left rapper Lil Mister dead at the age of 24. The rapper, real name Antwon Fields, is the cousin of rapper Lil Durk according to reports.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:

A witness told investigators the man was walking at 7:15 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Harvard Avenue when a dark-colored car drove up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the head and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

An investigation into Fields’ death is underway by Chicago authorities and chatter on Twitter seems to suggest that the killing may have been gang-related.

The son of Atlanta rapper Jeezy was injured in an altercation that has left one man dead according to a flurry of reports. Jadarius Jenkins, 22, reportedly was slashed in the face during the incident and was released by city police after an initial investigation was held.

TMZ reports:

According to law enforcement … the ATL rapper’s 22-year-old son, Jadarius, was involved in an incident Sunday morning in Georgia that ended with gunfire. Officers responded to a shots fired call, and when they arrived they found a 37-year-old man had been shot … he later died at the hospital

Cops say Jadarius sustained a “possible knife wound to the face” and was treated at the scene, but it’s unclear what occurred prior to the altercation between the two.

Drew Findling, the attorney for Jeezy’s son, tells TMZ … “We are grateful to law enforcement for releasing Jadarius after their preliminary investigation. He continues to receive medical treatment for the injury he endured during the incident.”

The outlet adds that a source tells them that Jenkins was acting in self-defense. The slain man was also a possible suspect in a pair of burglaries in the area of the shooting.

Nashville Cop Who Shot Black Man In The Back Charged With Homicide

Prosecutors in Tennessee have charged a Nashville cop who was seen in a graphic video gunning down a fleeing Black man, two months after the fatal shooting.

The district attorney’s office filed a criminal homicide charge against Officer Andrew Delke on Thursday for killing 25-year-old Daniel Hambrick, hitting him twice in the back and once in the back of the head.

Delke surrendered to authorities but was released shortly on $25,000 bond. Meanwhile, the local police union has vowed to fight to the end in the officer’s defense. The Nashville Fraternal Order of Police argued that Delke was defending himself because he saw Hambrick holding a handgun during the chase. However, the video did not appear to show Hambrick carrying a weapon.

On July 26, Delke approached the vehicle Hambrick was in, saying he believed it was the same car he said he saw earlier that day driving erratically, according to police investigators. Hambrick and two others fled from the officer.

Surveillance video, released by the prosecutor, showed 25-year-old Delke chasing Hambrick. The officer opens fire on Hambrick, who did not appear to turn toward Delke. After firing multiple times, the officer circled the dying man while continuing to point his weapon at him.
