Tiffany Haddish Capes For Blueface After He Makes It Rain On Homeless [Video]

It seems Tiffany Haddish has no problems with throwing money at the less fortunate. She has recently come to the defense of one of Rap’s biggest and most outspoken names.

As spotted on Page Six the comedian recently gave TMZ some time as she was out and about in California. While the celebrity gossip site checked in on several topics she took a lot of people by surprise with her response to Blueface’s recent display of wealth on the Los Angeles homeless. Earlier this week the Famous Cryp was seen standing on top of his vehicle throwing money on some of the destitute in the notorious Skid Row area of LA. While the gesture helped a lot of people in need the scene rubbed a lot people when the clip went viral on social media.

But to hear Haddish tell it this behavior of making it rain on the poor is a thing; well at least in LA. “It’s like tradition. It’s not unusual. It’s actually, from my experience, traditional. I’ve seen it so many times,” she explained. “Those people that’s saying it’s dehumanizing and degrading obviously haven’t lived in the hood. I’m from South Central Los Angeles. I’ve been around a lot of gangbangers, drug dealers and things like that, and they do often give out money, sometimes turkeys, toys — things of this nature.”

She also went to clarify that she too knew people in her circle that would do similar stunts when she was coming up. “I have known a lot of men with money that are affiliated [with gangs] to jump on top of their best vehicle and make it rain,” she continued.

You can watch Blueface do the most below.

Jay Electronica & Dave East Have Experienced Homelessness. Now They Help Others

As December rolls in, many Americans across the country are experiencing the chill and snowy weather of the year’s winter months. While many are lucky enough to warm themselves up during these cold, long nights, there are an estimated half a million people in the U.S. who are experiencing homelessness on any given night. In New York City, homelessness is especially prominent. With over 8.5 million people currently residing within the city borders, 1 in every 121 is homeless. To combat this mounting issue, some of Hip-Hop’s most prominent members are stepping in. In partnership with New York City-based non-profit organization, Hoodies For The Homeless, Mass Appeal Records conjures the assistance of Jay Electronica and resident artists Dave East and 070 Phi to create their first collaborative record, “No Hoodie (Nothin’ To Lose).” With 070 Phi on the hook, Jay Elec’ and East deliver the cold hard truth on wax, rapping passionately about the harsh realities of living on the streets. A Newly Surfaced Jay Electronica Song Revisits His Time With Erykah Badu Before his Rap career took flight, Dave East struggled with homelessness. Over a dark, icy instrumental, Dave East opens up about this difficult time in his life, “I’m scared of the winter, New York can get colder than cold / Ask God to just open my soul / F*ck the system, no I don’t wanna vote / Not to mention I do not own a coat (Nah) / It’s freezin’ my ni**a / I don’t got cash and no credit, no Amex or Visa, my ni**a / Slept in my Jeep with the heat on, my ni**a / I’m starvin’ for real ain’t no secret, my ni**a / I was just tr’yna get my hands on the purp’, my man just got hit I seen that on a shirt / And I got a felony, it’s gon’ be hard to get work / F*ck the judge, I hope your honor get murked / Nobody helpin’ me, nobody there for me / Think of my mama, know she said a prayer for me / Pedestrians lookin’ so scared of me / Think I need therapy, please before somebody bury me.” Jay Electronica, who was also homeless, follows East’s heartfelt bars with a series of his own. Jay brings to light the causes behind the issue at hand, “Walk the streets with no face or name / Nothin’ left to do but embrace the pain / Wandering through this wilderness, where my only companion is hate and shame / Like Johnny Blaze, it’s f*ck the world / While I walk the line like Johnny Cash / Trapped between this light and dark like Johnny Depp was in Donnie Bras’ / Reagan to Trump, ain’t nothin’ changed / Politics is for the politicians / Full meltdown in this melting pot / While I roam the block with no pot to piss in / Guide me O, Thou Great Jehovah surrounded by these snakes and cobras / Constantly I’m getting high, ’cause this life is too harsh to face it sober / One nation under God, allegedly indivisible / Welcome to the American Dream where the homeless live invisible.” Jay Electronica Shows The Way To Make A Proper Hip-Hop Verse For A Love Song Last year, Styles P and Dave East performed a set at Irving Plaza in New York City in support of Hoodies For The Homeless. Since 2015, the organization has collected and provided over 60,000 hoodies and warm clothing to homeless in New York City at a street value of over 1.2 million dollars. This year, Dave East released Survival. The Def Jam/Mass Appeal LP features Nas, DJ Premier, E-40, and Fabolous, among others.

Charlie Clips Cash Apps Homeless Lady, Doesn’t Want Her To Sleep On The Streets

Battle rappers sometimes get a bad rap. (pun intended)

When many people think about them, they think about underground lyrical miracles cyphering around a trash can on a corner. They might even think about the caricatures that have been portrayed in former battle rapper Eminem motivated films such as 8 Mile or Bodied. Some people despite the success of the aforementioned Slim Shady, Meek Mill, JAY-Z, Lauryn Hill, all of the Wu-Tang Clan, Nicki Minaj, Cassidy, Tsu Surf and more- folk continue to think that battle rappers can’t make music… but I promise you… word to Don Demarco they can..

Do you see the picture? A Bad rap.

Another thing that people seem to think is that they are broke and that they are grimy.

Well over the weekend, during the Rare Breed Entertainment Ladies and Gents card, Charlie Clips proved it them all wrong. Lets face it is getting a bag… proved that he is not just street emcee begging for a chance to spit hot fire against some other rapper from another hood (though he does get tested by a homeless man)… ain’t boxing himself into a particular “battle rapper” image (though he is one of the resident battlers on Nick Cannon’s hit MTV show Wild N’ Out and signing to Cannon’s NCredible Label)… nor is broke or grimy…

At the event, during an interview with 15MOFE, Clips and Phara Funeral chopped it up about their particular contest -a notable classic- and were interrupted by a gentleman selling a red fleece jacket.  When the gentleman realizes that he was talking to rappers, he started spitting. It was all fun and games, as Phara became his manager, hyping him up and gathering money (well more accurately making people donate) for her client. He got a sizable stash, but on the side was Miss Shawna. Miss Shawna had been in the cut, but she couldn’t rap.. she couldn’t sing. But what she did have is a cash app and a need to find some place to stay for the night. She did have the courage to ask, and some how this little woman touched the big ole mushy gushy heart of one of battle rap’s most prolific freestylers.

Watch and be blessed as Christmas comes early for this homeless woman.

Lil Pwn Hits Hollywood to Help the Homeless

Taking up the “Feed the Homeless” challenge, Seattle hip-hop artist Lil Pwn put together classic American lunch bags with homemade ham and cheese sandwiches, juice boxes, fruit and twinkies. After they got all the food together, they hit skid row.

https://youtu.be/foO6b6cllAM

Since moving to his new home of Hollywood, California and seeing how bad the homeless problem was in downtown LA, Lil Pwn was compelled to help.

Lil Pwn is no stranger to poverty. Growing up in the neighborhood of Port Orchard in Seattle, an area with a dramatically high crime rate for the region and very low incomes, he can relate to the struggles of folks too poor to put food on the table.

Taking a few hours out of their day and a couple of dollars was all it took to make a difference in these peoples’ day. Showing support and kindness to the poor and disadvantaged is something we can all learn from, and it isn’t hard for everyday people to take up the Feed the Homeless challenge. All it takes is a couple of hours, and as Pwn showed in the video – only $42.00 to feed over a dozen people.

Kid Cudi gave back to the people in a big way recently. The reclusive performer ordered a huge spread of food for the less fortunate on the eve of Coachella.

As spotted on Complex, Juan Pablo put his money up to feed the homeless last weekend. On Friday, April 19 Cudi ordered $10,000 worth of Popeyes food to be delivered to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. The organizations provide meals and shelter to the destitute of Indio, California. His donation was facilitated by Postmates who also worked with the “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper on his Munchies Menu in salute of 4/20.

The following evening The Lonely Stoner hit the stage. Midway during his set, he was joined by frequent collaborator Kanye West. The pair performed “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1,” and selections from their joint album Kids See Ghosts. Cudder doubled up on the festival by making an appearance at Ye’s Sunday Service show as well.

Vic Mensa Raises for Chicago Homeless During the Arctic Blast

The Midwest is no stranger to freezing temperatures but this week, the Midwest approached all-time record values prompting them to be called life-threating temperatures. Wednesday has the potential to be one of the coldest days in Chicago history with a high temperature of 8 degrees. While some people have the luxury of staying warm during this time, many people who live on the street do not. Rapper Vic Mensa and his Save Money Save Life Foundation teamed up with Healthy Hood Chicago to make sure those who are less fortune have the necessities to survive the Arctic cold blast.

In an Instagram video, he says, “Chicago, as you know, it’s cold as fuck right now what you may not be thinking about is those without a roof over their head to protect them from this weather. As the temperature drops to beneath 30 degrees in the next two days, people will die. My foundation is taking donations that are going to be used to feed 50 people three meals a day for the next two days while the weather is at its worse. Please, if you have the resources to we are accepting sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, food, and money. We have Venmo. If you have the possibility to, we need this help.”

This isn’t the first time Mensa has given back to his community. In August, he gave back to the community with anti-bait trucks. Mensa brought four trucks filled them with shoes and gave them to anyone who may need them. In a statement to Fox 32, Mensa said, “It feels great we’ve received so much support from around the globe. People in Europe and people in Africa have all donated shoes for us. Now, these kids, almost every kid in Englewood gets to go to school with a new pair of shoes on. It’s going to be so good to see kids walking down the street because I’m going to say, I know where you got those from.”
