Everyone remembers where they were when Kanye West dropped a bomb of a comment on the Katrina Telethon, on Live Television. “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” which caught every viewer and listener off guard, including Mike Myers, the famous comedian standing next to him. It was sixteen years ago, but the effect and power of those seven words and Myers’ shocked face are still going strong.

Re-watch the infamous moment in a video below. Kanye’s words seem to still ring true today, do you agree?

At a time when the country is facing another dose of a record breaking hurricane, let’s see if Yeezy feels the same way about Biden.

John Forte Speaks Out About George Bush Letting him Out of Prison… the Feds, Fugees and Carly Simon!

Few people can talk authentic Hip-Hop like Talib Kweli. But for those that know, John Forté can and does on the most recent episode of People’s Party with Talib Kweli.

On the show, Forté takes a stroll down memory lane with Kwa. Noting that he was one of the first to really travel the world to see the luxury that so many talk about now, and that his humble beginning in Brownsville was a suitable launching pad for the young and GIFTED emcee. He reminisced about being “fast-friends” with Lauryn Hill and what it was like to produce on the Fugees hit record, The Score.

Candidly, he speaks about being brilliant but poor and how that helped him create community and a fly style. Congenial and talented, enough to walk in almost any room and captivate it. Moreover, he speaks about maintaining dignity and honor in prison, something that lesser men have struggled to envelop during incarceration.

Some of the most interesting commentary comes from when he talks about being incarcerated and the seemingly unlikely places from which support seem to come. From Carly Simon to George Bush, check out how Talib Kweli, Jasmine, and John Forté unpack a life that seems almost too good to be true.

The 41st President of the United States George H.W. Bush has died. Reactions to the world leader’s passing have been ongoing since the news broke on Friday (Nov. 30), and on Twitter, those thoughts have been quite varied.

Bush, who was a two-term Vice President to the late Ronald Reagan, began his political career in 1963 in his native state of Texas, going on to become a congressman at the U.S. House of Representatives before going into a failed bid for a U.S. Senate seat. He remained a visible and popular member of the Republican Party, becoming the chairman of the Republican National Committee in 1973. In 1976, Bush was named Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

After a failed bid to gain his party’s nomination for president in 1980, Bush was named Reagan’s running mate and the pair served from 1981 to 1989. Bush served one term as president, losing his post to President Bill Clinton, who went on to serve two terms.

Twitter users have both politely given salutes to President Bush but others are definitely going for critique as well. We’ve collected some of the responses below.
