Big Meech Set For Early Release After Being Granted Sentence Reduction

Screen Shot 2021 06 14 at 11.36.01 PM

A report from AllHipHop has confirmed that convicted drug kingpin Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory has been set for early release after a sentence reduction shortened his time by three years.

Flenory’s sentence was reduced by 36 months from his original 360 month sentence by U.S. District Judge David M. Lawson, citing that Flenory had met the criteria under the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines amendments 782 and 788. The new amendments revised drug quantity and quality tables, which can be applied to all drug cases that existed prior to November 1, 2014.

This sentence reduction came almost immediately after Meech was denied a compassionate release because of the coronavirus danger in U.S. prisons, which was granted to his brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory last year.

Meech’s original release date was set for 2031, but is now reset for 2028.

Big Meech Reportedly Appealing To White House For Early Release

Screen Shot 2021 05 02 at 10.57.37 AM

According to a report from AllHipHop, founder of the infamous BMF crew Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory is slated to appeal to President Biden and the White House for an early release.

Earlier this year, Meech was denied a compassionate release for a third time, while his brother, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, was released last May under the same request. With Meech being a first time, non-violent offender being held in solitary confinement for 23.5 hours a day, Meech’s incarceration is being considered cruel and unusual by critics, which os what is launching the Oval Office appeal.

The prison claims the unusual confinement is only a precaution to prevent Covid-19 spreading.

Big Meech isn’t scheduled to be released from prison until 2031.

TheSource.com will update this story as details develop.

Prosecutors Seeking To Block B.G.’s Request For Early Release

Screen Shot 2020 12 06 at 11.27.42 AM

According to a confirmed report from AllHipHop, B.G. of the legendary Hot Boys’ lawyer has filed for compassionate relief amid the Covid-19 crisis in prisons and jails around the country, including USP Atlanta, where B.G. is currently being held during his 16 month sentence.

B.G.’s lawyer, Robert C. Jenkins, has claimed that the New Orleans rapper’s life faces “significant risks” and went on to say, “Here we have a defendant whom has been a model inmate and can do some extraordinary work with the youth of America. He is well known throughout the United States and is ready and willing to be a role model for the youth of America.”

Prosecutors have set out to block Jenkins’ request, with United States Attorney Peter G. Strasser stating, “He claims that he suffers from ‘a host of health problems’ but provides no specifics and no documentation or medical records to prove his allegations.”

B.G., whose real name is Christopher Dorsey, was sentenced to 168 months for two counts of possession of a firearm as a felon, and one count of conspiring to obstruct justice. He has served 113 months so far.

Jenkins has continued to argue for Dorsey’s release, contending, “Mr. Dorsey has long realized his behavior and actions were wrong and is ready to help the youth of America understand and realize that his plight was wrong and to explain to the youth of America that in this country there is a better way to be a better person and succeed.”

Bobby Shmurda’s Mother Says Her Son Might Be Home Next Month

Screen Shot 2020 07 27 at 11.36.55 AM

According to a report from Don Diva, Bobby Shmurda’s mother Leslie Pollard says that if everything goes as planned, the “Hot N***a” rapper will be released from prison next month.

Ms. Pollard said Bobby plans to tell the parole board that if they grant him a conditional release, he’s going to put his nose to the grindstone in the studio and most of all, stay out of trouble.

According to Mama Shmurda, Bobby has been doing a lot of songwriting behind bars and plans to put all of that writing to good use for his label, Epic Records. She also says that her son wants to produce a documentary about his life, which he’d like to be used as education for at-risk youth. Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, also plans on visiting detention centers and foster homes telling troubled youth his story so that they can avoid the same pitfalls that led him behind bars for seven years at the peak of his career.

Back on September 2, 2016, as part of a plea deal, Shmurda pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree conspiracy and one count of weapons possession, and was sentenced to seven years in prison. Back in 2017, Shmurda was given an additional four years for a jail made shank found in his belongings in prison, but the sentence ran concurrently with his original sentence.

R. Kelly Denied Early Release for COVID-19 Concerns for Second Time

Even though being in jail is a danger during the coronavirus pandemic, but a federal judge has determined that’s not a good enough reason for R. Kelly to be released.

For the second time since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, R&B crooner R. Kelly and his legal team have been trying to get the disgraced singer at least commuted to home confinement, but the judge said Kelly’s motion for release on bond did not present enough evidence the singer is uniquely at risk to contract the coronavirus.

Even after an inmate on Kelly’s floor was recently hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus, he was still considered ineligible for early release. The judge’s reasoning was that due to the pandemic and law enforcement resources being stretched … “They cannot ensure that a defendant with a history, incentive and opportunity to interfere with potential witnesses will not do so.”

YNW Melly Requests Release From Prison After Testing Positive For Coronavirus

As more Hip Hop artists are coming forward with positive tests for COVID-19, Florida artist turned inmate YNW Melly says he’s acutely sick from the novel coronavirus and is afraid that he might die if he’s not released.

Melly’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, had filed a motion to allow the jailed rapper an early release, alleging that since Melly tested positive for the virus, he has been suffering from severe chills, heavy labored breathing, headaches and body aches.

Cohen also claims that Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, is confined in a cell with another COVID-19 positive inmate, neither of which are being properly monitored by the prison staff. Additionally, Cohen alleges that the facility is not prepared to handle the pandemic, accusing them of “not giving them masks or cleaning supplies that would be beneficial regarding his recovery. This is against all recommendations of the Surgeon General and CDC.”

Cohen says that Melly’s weight has dwindled down to a frail 114 pounds.

Cohen is requesting that Demons be allowed to be placed on a strict house arrest and treated at a private medical facility on his own dime.

As previously reported, Melly has been locked down for a year for the double murder of two members of the YNW crew.
