“My better half mustard has been really amazing through this pregnancy,” Chanel said. “Helping me tie my shoes, get out of bed, rubbing my back while I throw up, dealing with my mood swings, raging hormones, complaining nonstop, attitudes because I’m hungry, crying every day for no reason when I can’t fit something. He’s been a real trooper! Granted, this isn’t our first time around the rodeo none the less he stayed on track with his diet and worked out literally most of the pregnancy!”

My better half ❤ @mustard has been really amazing through this pregnancy. Helping me tie my shoes, get out of bed, rubbing my back while I throw up, dealing with my mood swings, raging hormones, complaining non stop, attitudes because I’m hungry, crying everyday for no reason, crying when I can’t fit something 😂 he’s been a real trooper! Granted this isn’t our first time around the rodeo none the less he stayed on track with his diet and working out literally most of the pregnancy! Usually we gain weight together during pregnancy cause he eats with me😂😂 but he’s actually been super good at holding down his health during this process!! And trust me! DJ Mustard is officially off the market, as he proposed to longtime girlfriend Chanel Thierry over the weekend. Congratulations are in order, especially because the engagement ring he gifted Thierry is icy AF.

Announcing their engagement via Instagram, Thierry talked all about their crazy, ride-or-die love. She apparently has no issue with popping out on a negro.

“THIS moment was everything,” she said in part. “Our kids reaction, our family and friends… I couldn’t have dreamed of a better moment. I love you. Thank you for always being a man of your word! We aren’t perfect by any means, some days we can’t stand each other😂 but the love has NEVER left, 8 years I’m still in love, still will hop out of a trunk on that ass if u think about not talking to me 😂😂😂 (true story, ask Yg! I had them niggas shook) Moral of the story I’m so excited for this next chapter! I’m forever grateful and honored to be by your side for the rest of our life! @mustard (Thank you for always letting me be me and never trying to change who I am as a person)”

The famed producer said on his own account that it’s been “8 years since we had kiy … so I got 8 carats for each year and that’s just the center stone the rings a total of 18 carats.” Mustard on the ring, ho!

May their love last a thousand lifetimes.

The album was executive produced by 10 Summers, founder DJ Mustard. After the success of the album’s lead singles, “Boo’d Up” and “Trip,” the UK singer is ready to lead her first long-winded tour.

For the first month of the tour, the 23-year-old artist will stop in Europe from January 8 to the 24th. Her first three stops are in Birmingham, Manchester, and London, before ending the European leg of the tour in Norway.

“I think a lot of people thought R&B is dead, which I don’t understand how anyone could think that,” she said. “In my opinion, it’s the best genre in the world. Music is personal preference, but R&B definitely tackles love the way it happens. There’s no beating around the bush with R&B.”

Ella Mai Releases Self-Titled Debut Album, Executive Produced by Mustard

Ella Mai has officially arrived.

The 10 Summers prodigy has certainly taken advantage of the momentum she gained from her debut single, “Boo’d Up,” making a strong case for a Song of The Year Grammy nomination. The single recently broke the record for most weeks at No. 1 for any song by a woman on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart when it topped the chart for 16 weeks. She followed up “Boo’d Up with “Trip” and now a full-length project.

Ella Mai’s debut album is loaded with 16 songs and intentionally placed A-list features. In addition, the album is exclusively produced by her mentor and go to the producer, DJ Mustard. The Interscope artist links with R&B legends, John Legend and Chris Brown for two of the album’s three features. “Focus” artist, H.E.R. caps off the album’s list of guest appearances.

With the early success of her singles, one can say that Ella Mai’s has already shaken the curse of a one-hit wonder and her album will further continue that narrative. Be sure to listen to Ella Mai’s debut album on Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal.

Jacquees Responds to DJ Mustard Removing His Hit Remix of Ella Mai’s ‘Trip’

Ella Mai popped on the scene this spring with her infectious diddy, “Boo’d Up.” The hit song has gone triple platinum and the video on YouTube has been viewed over 228 million times. This history making song has recently tied with Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” to be the longest running #1 by a female artist in R&B/ Hip-Hop Airplay in chart history.

Still on constant rotation on most radio stations (15 weeks at #1), there has not been another song from her catalogue with equatable success. Her new single ‘Trip’ hit the waves but did not pop like the first one.

Until, Jacquees did his remix. It popped in a major way and thus was removed from Spotify and YouTube, platforms that allowed the artist to monetize from a record that he did not originally write or produce. Super producer DJ Mustard, the brainchild behind Ella Mai’s success, addressed the business move on Twitter.

Jacquees answered this with one tweet, that in emoji language expressed what most fans are feeling across the board.

And then, announced that new music was on the way…

Not that… who knows that that is… but with another hit maker, Meek Mill. Can’t wait to hear what’s cooking in the pot.

DJ Mustard Addresses Rumors About Ella Mai Taking Jacquees “Trip Remix” Down: “No One Steals From 10 Summers”

Mustard

West Coast producer DJ Mustard is clearing the air. The hitmaker has come forward to address his protégé Ella Mai allegedly taking down fellow crooner Jacquees‘ “Trip Remix” down from streaming sites.

Mustard went to Twitter this week and came to Ella’s defense amid publications thinking she’s behind the takedown.

Earlier this week, Jacquees responded to reports about Ella taking down his ode.

The singer’s camp made sure to issue a statement this week regarding the drama.

“For the new people who are just catching up to who Jacquees is as an artist, this has become very controversial for no reason,” the statement begins. “We love Ella and are cool with her team as well. He has been releasing not only Quemix songs but entire projects with remixes of other artists’ songs ranging back to 2013. This was an act of genuine support and should not turn into negativity for either of the artist or from their supporters.” (Billboard)

His representative also said there’s hope both musicians can collaborate.

Jacquees’ camp also indicates the Cash Money signee remains hopeful that he and Mai will team up for an “original collaboration” down the line. “He is about to release a video for his new single, ‘You,’ and [he] hopes the two are able to collaborate,” reads the statement. “There is still hope for the song as an official remix or maybe fans will get something better that is an original collaboration.” (Billboard)

A few weeks ago, Jacquees shared a teaser freestyle to Ella’s “Trip” smash.

Mustard Addresses the Removal of Jacquees’ Version of ‘Trip’ Online

Yesterday (Sept. 26) fans noticed that Jacquee’s remix of Ella Mai’s “Trip” was being removed across the net. Fans pointed to the “Boo’d Up” creator for the remix’s disappearing act, however, Mustard says that is not true.

“Our artists don’t send cease and desists, we do,” Mustard opened. “When you monetize content you don’t own you are stealing and no one steals from 10 Summers.”

Mustard goes on to relay that Ella Mai had no dealings or input into the decision to send the cease and desist, along with making sure everyone knows the reports that she did are false. Meanwhile, Ella Mai is preparing to release her self-titled album on October 12. Check out the full message from Mustard below.
