DJ Whoo Kid Launches New ‘iGnant Podcast’ With First Episode Featuring Lil Yatchy and Dipset

DJ Whoo Kid keeps on adding to his already decorated resume.

Famously known for being G-Unit and 50 Cent’s official DJ, Whoo Kid is certainly a Hip-Hop veteran.  Now he is stepping into the realm of podcasting. This is nothing new for him based off of his experience as a radio host.

DJ Whoo Kid recently launched The iGnant Podcast. Despite the name, this podcast is nowhere near ignorant at all. Instead, it is informative, provides humor, as well as an in-depth look into life behind A-list celebrities you rarely have access to.

The iGnant Podcast premieres with Lil Yatchy and legendary Harlem group, Dipset, as its first guests. With Lil Boat, Whoo Kid discusses the rapper’s early success in music, his thoughts on Cardi B, dealing with doubters and more.

“I’ll read a review,” said Yatchy. “But I really don’t give a f***.” The Atlanta rapper feels he is representing a new wave that many elders before him fail to understand. It doesn’t seem like they care to understand.”

Dipset stops by to chop it up about their new album, Diplomatic Ties, a possible biopic, how Biggie gave Cam’ron his start in rap and more.

“Cam got to rap for Big,” said Jones. “Big said he was going to sign him.”

Unfortunately, Biggie passed shortly after, but Cam was still able to get his deal, and the rest is history. Be sure to check out the first episode of The iGnant Podcast below.

Whether it is DJing, producing mixtapes, or hosting a radio and podcast, Whoo Kid has continuously dedicated his career to pushing the culture forward.

New Dipset Documentary Set To Drop… Excuse Me Set To Drip

Harlem natives Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freeky Zekey got something cinematic about them. They keep you watching… Which is probably why reality television (there would be no Love and Hip-Hop without them) is so attracted to the Harlem crew.

The answer is really simple when you see them; They drip with all things fly, all things charismatic and all things worthy of Hip-Hop rock stars.

And so while everyone is excited to hear the new music next week (they are set to drop their first full length studio album, Diplomatic Ties,  in 14 years), fans should also get excited about the documentary on the making of the album scheduled to drop at the top of the year.

What’s so special about the Dip doc? First everyone has equal camera time, giving the viewers an unprecedented amount of access to the process of creating this new album, the history of the group, Harlem’s gentrification, a rare look at the personal relationships between all four members- with all four members in face to face dialogue- and The Heatmakers speak on that extra sauce that makes this crew iconic.

One gem dropped in the flick is that The Dipset were the first crew to drop album-like mixtapes. Let’s back up for the new jacks in the culture. Before 2000, mixtapes were not an artist’s seen as a substitute album or extended play project (most commonly called an EP).  A mixtape was a compilation put together by popping street djs with exclusive songs, remixes or blends. Dipset was hot in this market, appearing on all of the great mixtape djs’ projects (Ron G, DJ Kay Slay, DJ Clue, etc.). Cam deduced that if the group compiled all their music on one mixtape, they could shift the game. And they did. Before 50 Cent killed the mixtape game, these guys figured out the magic in producing, marketing and distributing their own products with a system super similar to street hustling.

THERE YOU HAVE IT: They gave you game from the rip and are back to teach us again how to change the game.

Sorry Migos… If we are comparing rap groups to rock groups, The Wu Tang Clan would be The Beatles, The ASAP Mob would be Aerosmith and Dipset would be The Rolling Stones. Cam and Jim are Mick and Keith. Juelz and Zekey are Charlie and Ronnie. The entire lot of them, like The Stones, create culture around cool.

Fashion. Music. Video. Lifestyle.

The film sucks you in and primes you for the rest of 2019, a year that promises fans more music proving more than ever that Harlem’s favorite sons are one of the most influential acts in Hip-Hop.

Dipset Back! The Diplomats Plan to Drop Their New Album ‘Diplomatic Ties’ on Thanksgiving

The boys are back!

Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and, yes, even Freeky Zekey — known collectively as legendary Harlem rap clique The Diplomats — are finally dropping a new album together for the first time in 14 years.

Not since 2004’s Koch Records-released Diplomatic Immunity 2 has the group been officially on wax as a collective, but the wait is over as Diplomatic Ties will arrive in just a few weeks via Empire Distribution. The distribution company and record label, home to the likes of Freddie Gibbs, pop sensation Trevor Jackson and the chart-topping viral funnyman Lil Duval, is set to release Dipset’s new project on Thanksgiving Day (November 22), so we’ll have a little something more to celebrate this coming holiday season.

To prepare for the project, the guys are teasing a new song titled “Sauce Boyz” (seen above), in addition to a documentary to be released a week after the album drops and a “Black Friday Concert” at the renowned Apollo Theater located in the heart of their hometown of Harlem.

Cop tickets to The Diplomats’ upcoming concert by clicking here, and stay tuned for the “Sauce Boyz” music video and the full Diplomatic Ties album arriving soon. It’s Dipset — again!
