Megan Thee Stallion is making it abundantly clear, Carl Crawford, 1501 Certified Entertainment, or J. Prince isn’t stopping her movement. In Megan’s latest visual for her new single “Captain Hook,” she hammers home that point while getting lit with friends in the studio.

In the video, which she also directed, Megan lays down everything she unapologetically enjoys doing in her signature braggadocious flow. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Megan Thee Stallion music video with folks driving the boat and plenty of twerking to for us to visually take in.

Speaking about the record which happens to be one of her favorite songs off the 9-track EP last night during Elliott Wilson x Tidal’s conversation series, #CRWN, Megan explained how the song came together. She revealed that idea for the record popped in her head while watching anime, and she immediately hit up her producer Lil’ Ju with a particular request, “I need you to make me a beat with some swords in it.” Ju was confused but managed to come up with the bass-heavy beat for the fan-favorite song that was initially was freestyle.

Megan also revealed to Wilson during their conversation that during her songwriting process, she usually kicks everyone out when getting her bars together. So what you see in the nearly 3-minute video is somewhat what a Megan Thee Stallion studio session is like.

“I like to focus, I don’t like a lot of distraction. If I’m distracted, I really can’t write. I’ve been in a few sessions where it’ll be turned up, but that’s for the party.”

“When it’s time for me to start recording, I need everybody to get out.”

We feel you, Megan. “Captain Hook” follows the video for her lead single “B.I.T.C.H.” you can step into it below.

Meek Mill Shares Funny Story of JAY-Z Accidentally Playing Drake’s ‘Back To Back’ During Double Date With Beyonce & Nicki Minaj

Fresh off the heels off his highly-anticipated post-prison album, CHAMPIONSHIPS, Meek Mill sat down with Elliott Wilson for a chit-chat about his collection, his advocacy for prison reform, and an awkward moment he shared on a double date with JAY-Z, Beyonce, and his ex-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj.

On the latter, he shared that Hov was on aux duty that night and things got uncomfortable for him when Drake’s diss track aimed at him, “Back To Back” began playing.

It’s a beautiful moment to reflect on considering that they squashed their beef and made a public reunion during Drizzy’s Aubrey and the Three Amigos Tour.

Aside from that hilarious story, the CRWN interview was overwhelmingly positive and Meek Mill fans who were all at the Playstation Theater in NYC rejoiced.

The interview, as well as the album, is available in its entirety on TIDAL.

Lil Wayne Clears Up Why Drake Isn’t On ‘Tha Carter V’

2017 Billboard Music Awards - Backstage and Audience

Lil Wayne‘s latest studio album, Tha Carter V, is a definite crowd pleaser even among some of the rapper’s harshest critics. But what was extremely noticeable on the Young Money honcho’s latest effort was the absence of one of his label’s biggest stars in Drake and Weezy addressed the matter.

Weezy chopped it up with the journalist OG Elliott Wilson in New Orleans for the CRWN interview series. In short, the song Drizzy was supposed to appear on simply didn’t get cleared and it probably had something to do with who was rapping over the sample and the subject matter.

“He has a song that didn’t get cleared,” Weezy said to Wilson. “The clearances, man. The clearances, man. People be trippin’ when they find out who it is and when they find out what the song’s subject is about. They don’t represent the names of something like that.”

Wilson pressed if it was truly about the subject matter to which Wayne couldn’t directly say either way.

It was also reported that Post Malone was supposed to be featured on the massive 23-track album but didn’t make it for reasons that have not been publicly specified.
