It’s official, Captain Marvel 2 is happening because duh! You don’t have a film centered around a female hero gross a billion dollars worldwide and say, “Yeah, that’s good enough.” You make the sequel!

According to Deadline, the second installment to the MCU franchise starring Brie Larson as the super-powered earthling who’s fighting the good fight in outer space has officially begun production, and has brought in one of the writers for Disney+’s upcoming WandaVision series, Megan McDonnell. Though WandaVision is a minute away from debuting on the popular streaming service, Marvel execs must like what they’ve seen so far if they decided to have McDonnell help pen Carol Danvers next deep space adventure.

Not much is known about the plot or even the characters involved in Captain Marvel 2, but rumors are abundant. Some internet chatter has Captain Marvel 2 setting up the stage for the next Avengers installment centered around the classic Secret Invasion storyline to the movie including Spider-Man in a co-starring role.

There’s even a rumor floating around that Carol’s love interest in the film will be (gasp!) a woman! If that last little tidbit happens to prove true prepare for conservative internet trolls to rain holy hell on Marvel for daring to promote a lifestyle that countless people around the world live everyday. Expect things to be even worse if rumors prove true that Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie turns out to be Carol’s wifey.

As for the film’s main protagonist, there’s been rumors that Ronan The Accuser would be returning to take on the cosmic powered superhero, but others say Marvel will introduce Michael Korvac into the MCU. Straight out of the Korvac Saga, Michael Korvac is a half-human/half-futuristic computer being whose powers come from The Power Cosmic and who does have comic book history with the almighty Galactus. It would make sense to have him become the main villain in the film and setting up the introduction of Galactus at some point who’ll eventually take on the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men in that big blowout Avengers film a few years down the line.

Guess we’ll have to wait till 2022 to find out of any of these theories hold weight.

Can’t wait.

Captain Marvel continues to hit big numbers on the global and domestic front at the box office, this as Marvel fans the world over are preparing for the epic Avengers: Endgame film due to hit theaters this week. One man has taken on a noble quest to singlehandedly keep Captain Marvel‘s stateside numbers high after setting a world record for viewing the flick.

Local outlet WSAW reports:

Steve Ruppel is a Weston chiropractor, who on the side likes to break Guinness World Records. This is his fifth record broken, he’s already done four including running a half marathon wearing the most amount of t-shirts.

“I thought it was the most insane thing ever, I thought it was impossible. I wasn’t even sure why it was even a record, but I thought after a while ‘I should probably do that,’” said Ruppel, the Guinness World Record breaker.

14,268 minutes in 116 showings of the same movie.

“The amount of time that it takes, I’ve had to take time off work, I would take long lunch breaks to accommodate watching an entire movie in that particular time frame. And then just time on the weekends where I’m not doing other things,” said Ruppel.

What’s big to note here is that Ruppel only needed to watch the movie 104 times to break the record, but decided he was going to go all out.

Wonder what he’s gonna do with Avengers: Endgame?

What Super Bowl?: The 10 Best Commericials That Aired During The Sleeper Bowl

The 10 Best Commericials That Aired During The Super Bowl

If there was a year that the big game ads had to deliver, 2019’s Super Bowl was it. There were definitely a lot of misses, but there were some commercials that hit the mark.

What Super Bowl?

That’s what a lot of viewers are saying after witnessing offensively deficient Sleeper Bowl where the MAGA Patriots struggled their way to a 6th championship. To make it through the defensive battle, fans stuck around for the Super Bowl spots that companies spend millions of dollars to get their products in front of the record number eyes that tune in for the big game.

Technology, as expected, was the forefront with artificial intelligence being the theme in a lot of the ads with Amazon’s virtual assistant getting a lot of shine. There was also a scary fascination with robots, but those ads didn’t quite hit the mark. But what caught our attention was John Legend adorably crooning while changing his son’s stinky diaper backed up by a bunch of singing father’s with this year’s Pepsi Halftime Show performer Adam Levine closing it out.

Other winners in the Super Bowl ad competition, Cardi B’s Pepsi ad featuring Steve Carell and Lil Jon, Chance Tha Rapper linking up with the Backstreet Boys to introduce a new Doritos flavor, the Bud Light Knight crossing over into the world of Game of Thrones, Marvel movie trailers from the upcoming Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame films. Microsoft’s  “We All Win” heartwarming spot highlighting its Adaptive Controller and the NFL 100 controller which most consider being the best ad the night.

If by any chance you missed them because you went to grab a snack, hit the bathroom or just tuned out from the Super Bowl altogether you can peep them all in the gallery below. Let us know which ones were your favorite and if we missed one in the comment section below.
