The live mental health talk Charlamagne Tha God was due to host with Kanye West later this month has been cancelled.

The Breakfast Club co-host and the controversial Chi-Town rap icon were due to come together to discuss issues surrounding mental health at a TimesTalk event held at New York’s Town Hall on October 17.

Speaking about the event on a post on Instagram, Charlamagne Tha God announced that the event had been cancelled.

"Normalizing being mentally healthy is a conversation that I really wanted to have with Kanye because he's been so vocal about his own mental health struggles. Unfortunately I think to have that conversation with him right now would not be productive and a total distraction from the point of the convo which is to eradicate the stigma of mental health especially in the black community."- ME.

It’s been a serious few weeks for West. First, West announced a new album entitled Yandhi, would be released on Saturday (September 29) to coincide with his appearance on the season premiere of SNL. The record failed to materialize and was instead pushed back to November.
