Chart-topping global artist BIA releases her new single, “PISSED OFF,” featuring Lil Yachty. The multi-platinum rapper unleashes her new track and music video amid her supporting role on the second leg of Nicki Minaj’s historic Pink Friday 2 World Tour, which is currently underway.
BIA’s career is driven by her versatility, and coming off the aspirational highs of her contributions to the Bad Boys: Ride Or Die soundtrack, BIA is crisp and sharp-witted over the droning 808s of “PISSED OFF,” matching Lil Yachty’s shrill delivery with compelling inflection trickery of her own. In the music video, a fur-laden BIA, accompanied by a few friends—Lil Yachty included—take to the streets to deliver their disgust in resplendent style.
In the days leading up to the single release, BIA announced “PISSED OFF” with a TikTok preview that quickly amassed over 100,000 views in two days. The “London” rapper has spent much of 2024 working on new music, and her audience is excited for new material.
Her latest single also follows her hugely successful 2023 album, Really Her and Really Her (Int’l Deluxe), which produced two Billboard Rhythmic Top 40 placements, “London” featuring J. Cole and “I’m That Bitch” featuring Timbaland.
BIA’s heightened success and popularity has fueled her ventures into the entertainment and business world. She has become a mainstay at major live sporting events, performing at 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend and helping to soundtrack the NHL Playoffs and Women’s World Cup. Her recently-launched cosmetic brand, Beauty For Certain, makes a cameo in BIA’s video for “Lights Out,” which features GRAMMY nominee J.I.D. and makes a home on the Bad Boys: Ride Or Die soundtrack.
BIA continues to dominate 2023 by releasing the music video for “Milano,” featuring Italian sensation Sfera Ebbasta and NYC’s Fivio Foreign. The track, a standout from the international deluxe edition of BIA’s “Really Her EP,” underscores the Boston-born artist’s global impact and her seamless integration into the international drill scene. Directed by VisionBank, known for their work with Polo G and Moneybagg Yo, the visuals complement the track’s success. Notably, “Milano” has already achieved Gold status in Italy, and the video is rapidly gaining traction following its release. BIA’s commitment to her international fanbase and her prowess in the global music landscape is evident in this latest release.
It looks like beef is stirring up between BIA and Burna Boy. In case you missed it, a few years ago, BIA spoke with Nicki Minaj on Live, stating she did not know what WizKid, Davido, or Burna Boy looked like. The Grammy-winning artist did not forget that.
He just had a verse on the song “Mera Na,” in which his fans assume a few lines are for the “Whole Lotta Money” rapper. At the end of his verse, Burna Boy allegedly addresses BIA.
“Heard a stupid ho said she don’t know my face/ Got to find out she’d been all in my DMs/ Haan, haan, haan, haan, haan/ Told my ex, “It’s over now”, haan/ I’m worldwide, I’m global now, haan”
The song was just released this past Friday, and Nigerians took to Twitter to spread the speculation. And, BIA got word of this and took to Twitter as well.
An international feud seems to be brewing. Actually, “Mera Na” has seen instant success. It has been viewed over 14 million times on YouTube in 24 hours, with millions of comments and likes. Sidhu Moose Wala was an Indian rapper who was killed in May of 2022. “Mera Na” is his third posthumous single, and he was able to fulfill one of his wishes. Sidhu always wanted to make music with Burna Boy, and now they have a hit!
