Lil Nas X took ownership of his story and identity after coming out as gay and has handled much of the response in the savviest ways possible. The “Old Town Road” star says backlash has increased sine his big reveal and in a new BBC interview the Atlanta native seems at peace with his decision.

BBC News reports:

US rapper Lil Nas X has revealed he has experienced a backlash on social media since posting cryptic hints on Twitter that he is gay.

“I’m not angry… because I understand how they want that reaction,” said the 20-year-old performer. “So I’m just going to joke back with them.”

Lil Nas X – real name Montero Lamar Hill – told BBC Breakfast he felt like he was “opening doors for more people”.

“I don’t want to live my entire life… not doing what I want to do,” he added.

He said he hoped his fans would “feel comfortable” but admitted homosexuality was “not really accepted in either the country [or] hip-hop communities”.

BBC Fires News Host After Racist Royal Baby Tweet

BBC News just fired a host of one of its weekend programs after the man posted a racist image referencing the newly-arrived royal baby, Archie Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Danny Baker posted an image of a chimp in a tweet in relation to Baby Archie, and it appears, online at least, that he’s standing by his tone-deaf “gag.”

BBC News reports:

The tweet, which he later deleted but which has been circulated on social media, showed an image of a couple holding hands with a chimpanzee dressed in clothes with the caption: “Royal Baby leaves hospital”.

The BBC Live presenter was accused of mocking the duchess’s racial heritage.

Baker claimed it was a “stupid gag”.

The 61-year-old presented a weekend show on the network.

The corporation said Baker’s tweet “goes against the values we as a station aim to embody”.

It added: “Danny’s a brilliant broadcaster but will no longer be presenting a weekly show with us.”

On Twitter, it appears that Baker is showing little in the way of remorse for his so-called attempt at shock humor.

There hasn’t been a response from Prince Harry and Megan Markle.

The above tweets make mention of publications looking to gain comments from Baker over his poorly executed tweet. But as it stands, Baker somehow manages to miss the mark in achieving some semblance of decency by mocking BBC officials for firing him.

He surely won’t be missed.

Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club Launches Limited Edition Signature Crates

Pharrell WIlliams x BBC Crate

Pharrell Williams is already having a great year, per usual. Besides a new festival in his hometown of Virginia Beach, the Neptunes producer, creative director, fashion designer and more had his Billionaire Boys Club brand launch limited edition signature crates.

The crates are functional, letting you stores your good and also space saving if you’re on the move since they’re collapsible. They don’t come cheap at a cool $100, but considering they’re limited edition, and Pharrell co-signed, you may want to move on copping one or two. Also, a BBC tee starts at like $90, so if you’re already a supporter of the brand, this probably ain’t a thing.

The Billionaire Boys Club crates will be available at the brand’s NYC flagship and on the BBC website. See detailed images in the gallery.

Bobby Brown to Sue Showtime, BBC for Whitney Houston Documentary

Bobby Brown has been over protective in the past about his late ex-wife, Whitney Houston’s death in 2012, so it’s no surprise that Deadline reports that he’s suing both Showtime and BBC over the 2017 documentary that he says includes unseen footage that he never approved of.

“The film contains footage that Brown and [his late daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown] has never consented to have released,” the suit, which was filed Tuesday (Nov. 27) in New York District Court, reads. “Brown and [his late daughter] appear in the film for a substantial period of time, in excess of thirty (30) minutes. … Brown never signed or executed a release for the airing of the material that appears in the film.”

Brown filed the suit against the two companies responsible for the film, Whitney: Can I Be Me, because it uses unauthorized footage. “The film contains images of [Brown’s] other children, Landon Brown, Robert ‘Bobby’ Brown Jr. and LaPrincia Brown as minor children,” the suit also mentions. “Brown never consented to have his children appear in the film Can I Be Me and his children never consented.”

The documentary debuted at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival before airing on Showtime in the States and the BBC in the UK soon thereafter. It was later sold to different markets, outstandingly Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands without express consent from Brown. He’s looking for more than $2 million in damages.
