Besides 50 Cent, Uncle Sam stays tapping pockets for his dough. According to the IRS, Mary J. Blige owes over $1 million in back taxes.

We’re going to blame her ex-husband Kendu for this oversight off g.p., but some of her money issues are post-divorce.

Reports the family over at Bossip:

Blige’s tax lien, filed late last month, accuses the newly single Blige of owing a total of $1,198,161. The feds said MJB failed to pay taxes on income from 2016 and 2017, according to the lien, which was obtained by BOSSIP.

Despite being one of the biggest selling and best-loved hip hop soul artists of her generation, Blige has struggled with financial issues over the years.

Blige still has outstanding federal tax liens totaling millions from when she was still married to her nex husband and former manager Kendu Isaacs. Blige’s new lien suggests that despite her split from Isaacs, she is still experiencing trouble handling her tax bills.

Somebody gotta get Mary to hire a better accountant. It’s not like she’s out of work, besides an ongoing tour with Nas, she’s set to star in Starz’s Power spinoff and signed a deal with Lionsgate.

Blige has reportedly yet to respond to the more recent lien.

Ja Rule Reportedly Owes $2 Million in Back Taxes

It seems like Ja Rule can’t catch a break these days. The IRS claims the veteran rapper owes them at least $2 million in back taxes.

In files obtained by Bossip, Ja received multiple liens from the IRS for the years 2016, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. For each of those years, Ja owes $443,442, $830,717, $353,536, $231,775, and $172,282 respectively. That’s a pretty hefty bill and now the IRS wants the New York rapper to cover it. The report also states that his wife, Aisha, has also been sent liens for her own income.

Despite reports, Ja Rule is out in Thailand, living it up with his wife in celebration of their marriage.

Ja Rule seemingly takes many L’s, but he always finds his way out. Let’s see how he’s going to get his self out of this one.

It’s Tax Day (April 15), and a Queens rapper is feeling the sting. Reportedly, the IRS is seeking $2 million in back taxes from Ja Rule.

You may recall that Ja Rule already did some jail time for tax evasion. Well, the struggle continues.

According to Bossip, the liens are stacking up for the failed Fyre Festival promoter:

The IRS issued Ja’s latest lien late last month for $443,442 for income he earned in 2016 – some of it likely coming from his work behind the failed Fyre Festival.

But on March 4, the IRS issued a separate updated lien for back taxes from 2005 through 2008: $830,717 for 2005, $353,536 for 2006, $231,775 for 2007 and $172,282 for 2008.

In total, the IRS says Ja owes $2,031,753, according to the new liens.

His wife, Aisha, is also named on the liens, which were obtained by BOSSIP.

Rappers, hire an accountant. Then go the extra mile and actually take heed of their advice.

So far, Ja Rule has not responded to the liens. Maybe that new festival is on deck after all?

Mystikal has been dogged with issues regarding tax fraud in times past, including serving a prison sentence for the charge. Now, the veteran New Orleans rapper has managed to avoid a similar sentence after settling a $3 million tax debt with the IRS.

The Blast reports:

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Mystikal (real name: Michael Tyler) and the government notified a judge they have reached a deal to avoid going through with the upcoming trial.

The filing notes, “The parties have reached an agreement to settle the plaintiff’s cause of action against the defendant in its entirety, although the necessary documentation has not yet been accomplished. In addition to this Notice, the parties have informed both the Clerk’s Office and Chambers of this settlement.”

Back in 2017, the government sued Mystikal accusing him of failing to pay $2.9 million in back taxes, penalties, and interest for 1997-2002, 2007, 2008 and 2011-2013.

Mystikal was just released from jail last February on $3 million bail because of a criminal rape charge.

Pay Dem Taxes, Mayne: Terrence Howard Owes $143K In Back Taxes

FOX's 'Empire' - Season Five

Terrence Howard is once again dealing with some financial matters after he was hit with a six-figure tax lien.  The state of California is seeking over $143,000 from the Empire actor due to unpaid taxes from 2010.

The Blast reports:

According to official records, the State of California Franchise Tax Board hit Howard with a lien earlier this year, claiming he owes $143,538.61 for taxes owed for 2010, plus interest and penalties for not paying on time.

The document warns Howard if he does not settle up the outstanding debt, the government could begin attempting to seize his property and assets.

Howard has been hit with hefty liens in the past, including owing the IRS $1.1 million back in 2010 and one in 2006 for over $600,000.

Both of those previous liens appear to have been settled over the years.

Empire is slated to return to FOX for a sixth season.
