After several claims from critics and other artists that have thrown the “fed” label at DJ Vlad for his controversial interviews, incarcerated Philly rapper AR-Ab contends that his interviews with Vlad are not what landed him behind bars.

In an exclusive interview on the Flip Da Script Podcast, Ab, whose real name is Abdul West, tells the world that his sit-downs with Vlad have nothing to do with his incarceration, even though the judge in his drug trafficking case allegedly thanked Vlad and his interview for helping lad West in prison.

AR-AB to Reportedly Receive New Sentence on Kingpin Charges

AR-AB was convicted in November for using his record label Original Block Hustlaz, to front an entire drug ring operation. He is facing 15 years to life and he will learn his fate on May 28th.

The Philly rapper along with his three other co-defendants was accused of selling a large amount of cocaine, crack, heroin, and meth, plus murdering their rivals while expanding their drug operation. OBH was allegedly used to launder the cash, and other properties were used as a stash house.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that AR-AB’s lyrics and social media posts link him to numerous crimes. For example, the Feds used an Instagram post of him in California with one of his associates purchasing cocaine. The caption read, “I’ll make it snow in LA.” Additionally, authorities believe he has a song that connects him to the 2017 murder of Robert Johnson, who was allegedly killed by OBH crew member, Dontez “Taz” Stewart.

Prayers up for AR-AB.

AR-AB Convicted of Running Drug Trafficking Ring in Philly

Philadelphia rapper AR-AB was arrested last year and charged with heading a drug trafficking ring in North Philly. On Tuesday, the OBH rapper was convicted on that charge and is now facing a minimum of 15 years in prison.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, upon hearing the guilty verdict, the Who Harder Than Me artist blew a kiss to his supporters in the courtroom before being taken back to prison, where he’s been since the original arrest.

Ab grew his reputation for being a goon in his hometown. He was infamously shot 10 times in 2011, a story which he spoke in detail about on Vlad TV. AR-AB’s lyrics were primarily focused on drug dealing and toting weapons, and based on the court’s verdict, he was being truthful in his raps.

AR-AB was thriving in his career, especially after he received a shout out from Drake on his diss to Meek Mill “Back to Back.” AB said his followers grew by the tens of thousands after Drake name-dropped him. Even prior, he had a deal on the table from Birdman but he ultimately turned it down to stay independent.  He and Birdman are still friends despite turning down the offer.

Should the 37-year-old receive the minimum sentencing, he
will be 52 years old upon release.

Looks like AR-Ab‘s rap career might have to be put on hold indefinitely as the Inquirer is reporting that the Philadelphia rapper has been found guilty by a jury of conspiracy and distribution of crack cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine, amongst other charges.

According to the report the “Goon Story” rapper and three others in his entourage were convicted of turning their record label Original Block Hustlaz into a drug trafficking operation and that’s been linked to at least two murders.

Although federal prosecutors did not charge them in connection with those deaths, they left little doubt as to whom they believed to be responsible.

“Every one of them had their hustles,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Everett R. Witherell told jurors during his closing argument last week. “But it all ran through Mr. West.”

Though he hasn’t been sentenced yet for the charges, AR faces up to 15 years in prison.
