Joe Rogan Apologizes For Past N-Word Use: “The Most Regretful and Shameful”

joe rogan n word

Joe Rogan is calling his past use of the N-word “the most regretful and shameful” thing he’s had to address.

The 54-year-old posted a five minute apology to his Instagram after a video compilation of all the times the podcaster used the slur surfaced.

Rogan explains the clips were out of context, and he used the word in quote or referencing others, but says he hopes this will be a teachable moment for how offensive the word can be.

This follows Rogan’s recent controversy with the Spotify app over alleged COVID-19 misinformation on his podcast. Spotify announced adding content advisories to any material that talks about COVID-19.

The music streaming platform said last Sunday it will implement a message directing users to public health sites in an effort to combat the misinformation.

The company has been in hot water for continuing to air Rogan’s podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” despite concerns that it is amplifying COVID misinformation.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek said in a statement, “We are working to add a content advisory to any podcast episode that includes a discussion about Covid-19.”

Pop Crave reports, Spotify has reportedly removed at least 70 episodes of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” for instances where the comedian is heard using racial slurs, mostly the N-Word.

DaBaby Removes His Apology to the LGBTQ Community Off Instagram

DaBaby Is Reportedly Questioned For Alleged Involvement In Miami Shooting

After being removed from a number of festivals and having his collaborations with Dua Lipa and Kanye West removed from streaming or radio, DaBaby has pulled his apology.

“I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made,” DaBaby wrote in an August 2 apology. But now, the message has been removed entirely.

Last week it was revealed DaBaby was supposed to deliver a video apology before his Lolla set in Chicago.

This past weekend DaBaby was scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza. The “Suge” rapper was in hot water after making homophonic comments at Rolling Loud a week before and had already been dropped from one festival. Billboard reports representatives for DaBaby reached out to seven fall festivals that booked him, along with Lolla, and promised to film an apology before he hit the stage in Chicago.

DaBaby would then miss the deadline and his “apology” that he tweeted was the only one that remained. “I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. y’all business is y’all business,” DaBaby tweeted.

The video was never released and DaBaby proceeded to drop, setting off a string of schedule adjustments including Governors Bal, Day N Vegas, iHeartRadio, ACL Fest, and more. DaBaby still has bookings for Hot 97 Summer Jam and an August show in Kansas.

Kevin Hart Apologizes To Native Americans For Throwing A Cowboys & Indians Party

Kevin Hart appeared on The Breakfast Club to address the climate of comedy against the current cancel-culture taking place on social media.

“Everything with comedy is a gamble,” said Hart. “You [are] throwin’ the dice every time. You might not laugh at this sh*t, and that’s the gamble that I’m taking.” The star of The Upside star came under fire November of 2018 when Hart threw a “Cowboys-and-Indians” themed party for this son, then defended the choice.

Kevin Hart Speaks About Why We Find Joy In The Unhappiness Of Others

At 34:00, Charlamagne Tha God asks if Hart had ill-will and malicious intent when he threw a “Cowboys and Indians” party in November, Kevin Hart had this to say: “Let me tell you the f*cked thing about that: I had no idea until I got home. And the crazy thing is [laughing] it’s party planner that put [the event theme] together for my wife. It’s kids; was for one-year-old kids and they weren’t doing anything offensive. It was blankets, and they had some tipis for the kids to sit in outside. They had food that was out there, and there was cake for the kids, and that’s it. It was nothing else but social media enhances things.”

Charlamagne Tha God states that he saw Native Americans admitting they were offended by the stereotypes. Hart responds, “Here’s the thing: you’re offended, but you’re acting as if there was another thought that went behind it. There was no intent behind it at all.” He says that it was planned around a theme and costumes. “It was, ‘Okay, this is what’s done.’ There’s a party-planner, and they do [their job], and you get there and [accept what they planned]. There is no outright attack on the Native Americans. There’s no malicious intent [like], ‘Look at us; we’re racist, and we don’t like the Native Americans.’ The next morning, when I saw it, I said, ‘Oh sh*t, I could see why they would say that.’ But that’s not the case. What am I gonna do, defend it? What am I gonna say?” Hart admits that it is not that he does not want to apologize, it is that he does not know what to say. “What did I do, guys? I ain’t did sh*t.” Hart jokes, “I told [my wife], ‘Don’t have another f*ckin’ theme party, at all.’”

The stand-up and film superstar admits he not exactly sure what he apologizes for: “We’re living in a time where everything can be critiqued.” He adds that the same week of his one-year-old’s party, the Washington Redskins played football, carrying on a tradition of far more blatant racism towards Native Americans in his estimation.

After a back and forth with C.T.G., Hart then apologizes for the misstep of the party. “To Native Americans that was offended by the party that I threw for my son, I apologize.”

Charlemagne The God Apologizes To R. Kelly Victims For Past Statutory Rape Comments

The Breakfast Club‘s Charlemagne The God recently came under fire for comments made on Twitter in 2010 regarding R. Kelly’s 2002 child pornography case after appearing on the Surviving R. Kelly documentary.

Additionally, some of the viewers were critical of the fact that Charlemagne, who faced a statutory rape charge in 2001 when he was accused of raping a 15 year old girl, but plead out to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, was asked to participate in the documentary.

With so much controversy surrounding the subject, Charlemagne apologized to one of Kelly’s accusers, Lisa Van Allen, during her recent interview on The Breakfast Club, for his insensitive comments.

“I apologize for any jokes that I’ve made that may have upset you or any of the other victims. Honestly, none of us were thinking about that ten, fifteen years ago. We were just thinking about clowning R. Kelly, but we weren’t thinking about the actual victims,” said Charlemagne.

I want you to be happy, be gay, be happy.’ And then I say as a heterosexual male, if I can do something to stop my son … that’s where the joke starts!”

“The only clip that I have seen all over the media is the one where I go, ‘stop! That’s gay.’”

American Airlines Apologizes To Wale For Alleged Racist Incident

Just two months after the NAACP lifted its travel advisory against American Airlines, the company found itself apologizing to a member of the Hip Hop community for an alleged racist incident.

The airline offered an apology and explanation to Wale, whose real name is Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, for his complaint that two flight attendants questioned his first-class tickets.

“We just want to apologize to Wale for what really occurred here. We understand his frustration. …He’s a good customer of ours. He flies with us regularly. We really just want to apologize profusely,”

an American Airlines spokesperson said.

Wale’s incident occurred Sept. 16, on a flight from New York to Los Angeles. Initially, he was tweeting about a long flight delay. Later, he tweeted that two employees questioned his place in the first-class cabin, sharing a photo of his ticket that showed his seat assignment. Having a first-class ticket in hand, however, didn’t stop the flight attendants from insisting that Wale didn’t belong there.

American Airlines alleged that the problem on a system error that failed to register Wale’s seat assignment.

Passengers had to get off the plane to correct a maintenance issue, and many passengers sat in the wrong seats when they re-boarded the aircraft. The flight attendants “were just trying to figure out why he wasn’t listed on the flight in the first place. His seat was inadvertently dropped in the system when they boarded back.”
