Mustard Brings YG, 2Chainz, Migos, Ella Mai and More to Inaugural SUMMERSFEST Music Festival

Mustard held his inaugural SUMMERSFEST music festival this past Monday, August 12 at The Novo in L.A. Live. The L.A. native and Grammy Award winner brought music heavyweights like Migos, YG, 2 Chainz, Ella Mai and more to the stage.

Those in attendance had no clue who was going to hit the stage for the evening, which was kicked off by 1TakeJay delivering the “Intro” from Mustard’s Perfect 10 album. Jay was followed by back-to-back hits from RJ MrLA, A$AP Ferg, Roddy Rich, 10 Summers songstress Ella Mai, YG, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and Saweetie. Mid-show, the show got emotional in a tribute to Nipsey Hussle with “Perfect 10” and a video tribute. The epic show would wrap with a “Pure Water” performance from Mustard and Migos, the latter joined by his son Kiylan.

“This festival was absolutely legendary. I’m so happy we were able to get some of the best artists in the game right now to perform. We sold out in less than two weeks and gave the city a night they’ll never forget,” stated Mustard.

If you were unable to catch Mustard at SUMMERSFEST, you can pull up to the Legendary Nights Tour where he will join Future, Meek Mill, YG and Megan Thee Stallion across the country. Ella Mai will be hitting the road as well, joining Ariana Grande on the Europen run of The Sweetener World Tour, which kicks off in her home of London on August 17.

Ella Mai Releases Self-Titled Debut Album, Executive Produced by Mustard

Ella Mai has officially arrived.

The 10 Summers prodigy has certainly taken advantage of the momentum she gained from her debut single, “Boo’d Up,” making a strong case for a Song of The Year Grammy nomination. The single recently broke the record for most weeks at No. 1 for any song by a woman on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart when it topped the chart for 16 weeks. She followed up “Boo’d Up with “Trip” and now a full-length project.

Ella Mai’s debut album is loaded with 16 songs and intentionally placed A-list features. In addition, the album is exclusively produced by her mentor and go to the producer, DJ Mustard. The Interscope artist links with R&B legends, John Legend and Chris Brown for two of the album’s three features. “Focus” artist, H.E.R. caps off the album’s list of guest appearances.

With the early success of her singles, one can say that Ella Mai’s has already shaken the curse of a one-hit wonder and her album will further continue that narrative. Be sure to listen to Ella Mai’s debut album on Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal.

Mustard Addresses the Removal of Jacquees’ Version of ‘Trip’ Online

Yesterday (Sept. 26) fans noticed that Jacquee’s remix of Ella Mai’s “Trip” was being removed across the net. Fans pointed to the “Boo’d Up” creator for the remix’s disappearing act, however, Mustard says that is not true.

“Our artists don’t send cease and desists, we do,” Mustard opened. “When you monetize content you don’t own you are stealing and no one steals from 10 Summers.”

Mustard goes on to relay that Ella Mai had no dealings or input into the decision to send the cease and desist, along with making sure everyone knows the reports that she did are false. Meanwhile, Ella Mai is preparing to release her self-titled album on October 12. Check out the full message from Mustard below.
