Summer Walker Performs for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert

After making history with her debut album Over It, which earned the biggest streaming week ever for any female R&B artist, Summer Walker paid a visit to NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series.

Despite being nervous, the Atlanta songstress delivered an effortless 15-minute set. While playing guitar, she opened with “Session 32,” followed by “Wasted.” Backed by her band and two backup singers, she continued with the platinum hit “Girls Need Love” and “Riot” before capping it off with her latest single “Playing Games.”

At the end of her stripped-down performance, an anxious Summer addressed the crowd. “Look, I’m really freaking excited to be here but I have social anxiety like a motherf**ker,” she said. “I’m freaked the hell out, I’m sweating, but this is so exciting for me.”

Later this month, Summer will take the show on the road. Her “First and Last Tour” kicks off Oct. 27 in New Orleans and wraps Dec. 21 in Memphis.
