Perth duo Otiuh are back with old-school vibes on smooth new single, ‘Move’

Perth duo Otiuh are back with their trademark funk and soul-infused hip hop and a single that is guaranteed to keep you moving all summer long. On ‘Move’, Cesare Papa and Jahmeil Baker trade spitfire verses over tripped out and eclectic production, creating a toe-tapping, head bopping, infectious jam about never taking things too seriously and never caring about what others might think. Just let go and ‘Move’.

Fresh from having its first spin on FBi Radio’s Sunsets with Dobby & Diola as well as premiering on Purple Sneakers, Otiuh offer up a slice of something different in the Australian hip hop landscape with ‘Move’. Combining their golden age lyricism with futuristic production, marrying the influences of A Tribe Called Quest with Outkast as their poetic roots add the final flourish.

After nabbing some national radio play on triple j for their first two singles, Otiuh continues to carve out their own space on the national radar. Laidback and never taking things too seriously, Otiuh’s music is for those who want to be taken somewhere else far away, if only for a few moments. Of their new bop, the duo said, “When you’re on the dance floor, put your phone down. Dance for yourself. You don’t have anything to prove to others.”

Thanks to its driving bass line, synth flutes and exotic percussion laying down a smooth foundation for the pair to go back and forth with their rapid rhymes, ‘Move’ is one track that gets into your bones and makes you feel good from the inside out.

Otiuh enter a new chapter with ‘Move’ – one that will see them bring their alternative hip hop sounds to the fore, and have a great time while doing it.

Metro Boomin, Quavo, Cardi B, Post Malone And More Join #Free21Savage Movement

After ATL-based rapper 21 Savage was arrested by ICE agents on Super Bowl Sunday, many notable Hip Hop personalities took to their respective platforms to show their support for the 26 year old emcee who appears the be a victim of the recent crackdown on illegal immigrants.

Cardi B, Post Malone, MigosQuavo, Metro Boomin and others joined in on the fight to free Savage, whose real name is Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph. Bin Abraham, who was reportedly born on the British-colonized island of Dominica, was arrested by ICE because of an alleged expired visa being that Savage is reportedly not a U.S. citizen.

Savage’s birth certificate surfaced online yesterday, which shows that the “Bank Account’ emcee was actually born in Newham, which is in London, where he lived with his parents Kevin Emmons and Heather Joseph until he was 12 years old.

According to speculative reports, Savage was entwined in an investigation into Savage’s cousin and fellow artist Quantavious “Young Nudy” Thomas, who was arrested along with Bib Abraham-Joseph on gang-related charges.

This will be My FINAL post about 69 or anything that has to do with him.. I was called all kinds of old haters and clout chasers when I kept Expressing the seriousness of What this young boy was doing! Our culture championed around him Made him the Face of New York hip hop and Gang Culture. Our kids believed what he was doing was "Real" . The Media and almost every major outlet Promoted this kid like he was the best thing since sliced bread all while destroying the minds of these babies giving them a false sense of What Real or Gangster was. When those of us that could look at him and tell he was never about anything he was screaming told yal,l we were haters. This young boy is now in prison and cooperating to bring down the same people he acted in concert with. The same people he benefited with The same people who made him feel invincible. The streets ain't for nobody! But its definitely not for The weak!! Please young Kings Understand nobody is 💯 solid the person you think you can trust will tell on you!! They will sacrifice your life to save theirs. There is no honor or Code. All of that is gone.. Stay out the streets ITS A DEAD END! #soulNotForSale #Gangstabutwokeasfuck #IworkForthePeople

Heading into the weekend, reports emerged about 6ix9ine pleading guilty to nearly 10 federal charges in a racketeering case.

Tekashi 6ix9ine, the embattled rapper embroiled in a mounting series of federal counts of racketeering, has pleaded guilty to eight counts according to documents obtained by Rolling Stone. 6ix9ine — or Daniel Hernandez — had previously pleaded innocent since his arrest in November. Denied bail, he has spent the ensuing months in custody, and reports from his lawyer at the time, Lance Lazzaro, proclaimed his innocence. (Rolling Stone)

POWER Creator Courtney Kemp Joins Forces W/ STARZ’s Biggest Rival & 50 Cent Reacts: “My Girl Out Here Killing S**t”

Courtney Kemp 50 Cent

“Power” creator Courtney Kemp isn’t taking any breaks at the start of 2019. The STARZ executive has just leveled up by joining forces with premium network HBO for a new project.

Courtney went to Instagram Monday (February 4) to break the news of her latest venture.

The news has sparked huge co-signs from “Power” executive producer 50 Cent and actor Jerry “Proctor” Ferrara.

According to reports, the series will center on real-life rogue cops in New York City.

The New York City set one-hour drama series from seasoned producer Kemp is based in part on the well known tale of real-life rogue cops that operated out of the NYD’s 30th Precinct in the early 1990s before a slew of corruption investigations and arrests. The real Dirty Thirty cops were engaged in drug dealing, extortion and a lot of strong arming, to put it mildly. (Deadline)

“Power” star Michael Rainey Jr. recently hinted at his signature waves going away.

Last week, Courtney updated fans on the status of season six production.

50 Cent Says Stay Woke & Calls Out Bogus BMF Casting Announcement

50 Cent

New York rapper 50 Cent is helping people avoid getting scammed. The hip-hop veteran has singled out a bogus casting call for his upcoming Black Mafia Family TV series.

Curtis Jackson went to Instagram Monday (February 4) to unload steam on the fake announcement.

Over the weekend, former street kingpin Big Meech‘s son pulled through to check out 50’s BMF casting in Atlanta.

Last week, 50 has promised the upcoming BMF series would be bigger than his hit “Power” show.

In January, 50 shared some real BMF casting clips to encourage people to send their audition tapes his way.

Bow Wow Returns To IG Flexing After Bizarre ATL Arrest

Bow Wow

Rap veteran Bow Wow is back on his work grind. The hip-hop veteran has returned to social media following a headline-generating alleged assault arrest in Georgia.

On Monday, Bow Weezy hopped on Instagram with a shot of himself donning Fashion Nova gear.

Earlier in the day, reports emerged surrounding Bow Wow’s weekend altercation with reality TV star Leslie Holden.

Leslie — who appears on “Growing Up Hip Hop” — claims Bow Wow was pissed she was talking to another man at the party, and lit into her about it when they got home. In the police report, obtained by TMZ, Leslie says Bow Wow hit her in the head, pulled her by the hair, dragged her from her bedroom … and told her to get the hell out. For his part, Bow Wow acknowledged being pissed about the other guy … telling cops she “disrespected him” by hanging “all over another man’s body.” (TMZ)

Despite Holden’s graphic account, Bow Wow claims she actually struck him and he ended up the victim.

He claims he merely told Leslie to leave their home, and placed her bags by the door. He claims Leslie “grabbed a night stand lamp and threw it at him.” He says she missed with the lamp, but scratched the hell out of his face … which is obvious in his mug shot. An officer on the scene says he saw the lamp on the ground when he entered the bedroom. Cops observed red marks on Leslie’s fingers as well as broken fingernails. (TMZ)

Initial weekend reports revealed both Bow Wow and Leslie landed in handcuffs.

He was charged with Battery Substantial Physical Harm after an alleged fight with a woman, and is being held on $8,000 bond. ET has reached out to Bow Wow’s rep for comment. According to multiple reports, Bow Wow was involved in an alleged altercation with a woman named Leslie Holden, and after the Atlanta police officers were unable to determine the primary aggressor of the incident, both she and Bow Wow were reportedly arrested.
