NY Congresswoman Introduces Bill To Make T.I.’s “Virginity Tests” Illegal

More heat has come down on T.I. for the comments he made about his 18 year old daughter and “checking her hymen” and now the statement has become an anomaly in the political arena.

New York Congresswoman Michaelle Solages has introduced a bill that would prohibit doctors to perform “virginity tests” in response to T.I.’s statement about ensuring his daughter’s virginity with these physician-sanctioned tests.

According to a report from TMZ, the bill says, “Section 1 of the bill adds two new sections … to the public health law to forbid the performance of a hymen exam on women as a means to ascertain whether a woman is a virgin.” It continues, “[T]he bill stipulates that if someone disregards these rules, it will be considered an act of professional misconduct.”

The Long Island, NY politician wants to make the practice a D felony, with the physicians who administer the tests possibly being charged with sexual abuse.

T.I. attempted to cop a plea when questioned about his statements by Jada Pinkett-Smith, in which T.I., whose real name is Cliffird Harris, said that his statement was nothing more than a joke taken out of context.

It has not been confirmed when the bill will be voted on.
