New York City is one of the greatest radio cities in the country. You can now explore its “Golden Era” in a new documentary.

Revolutions on Air: The Golden Era of New York Radio 1980-1988 takes watches on a historical and musical journey back in time when hip-hop found its voice on the airwaves during the 80s.

Produced by Red Bull’s Music Academy, the documentary takes you on a trip from NYC radio from 1980-1988 featuring a dynamic soundtrack. The documentary brings mix show legends and studio icons like Shep Pettibone, Tony Humphries, The Latin Rascals, Marley Marl and Kool DJ Red Alert to one production. Coming from the documentary is the furthering of hip-hop, electro, freestyle, and house music scenes to radio listeners.
