Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J is having himself quite a year. He’s been in talks about an executive position at Columbia records and his music is sampled left and right by the current generation of rap stars. Now, an investment he made has just given him a big payday.
Core Hydration, a premium bottled company, announced it was acquired by Keurig Dr. Pepper in a deal worth $525 million. Juicy was one of several celebrities who had the good fortune to invest in the company four years ago.
In a statement, CORE’S founder Lance Collins said, “KDP been an outstanding partner for CORE and I am certain that, under its ownership, CORE will continue to see tremendous long-term success. I am a strong supporter of the KDP strategy and business model and am looking forward to being a shareholder in the company.”
Other celebs scoring a huge payday include Katy Perry, Becky G, Diplo, and Max Martin.
The brand has been making moves up since its 2015 launch. According to reports, Retail sales were close to $200 million according to the brand. According to the announcement, KDP expects to realize $90 million in tax benefits in the deal.
Juicy took to Instagram to express how excited he was over the news about his investment.
