Apparently, Gucci Mane had time yesterday. He was dropping some hot takes about who the true King of Rap is.

Gucci stopped by the Ricky Smiley Morning Show to promote his latest LP Evil Genius. Then Gucci got into a conversation with Headkrack and Da Brat bout who qualifies to be considered the King of Rap. When Eminem’s name was brought up Gucci Mane said, “You got to come up with a better name. I ain’t playing Eminem in my car. You playing him in yours?”

Headkrack did respond by saying that he plays Em’s music in his ride at least in the first week of its release.

Then Gucci asked, “You sliding around playing Eminem in your car, you and your ol’ lady?”

Gucci’s candor about Em not being a King of Rap erupted into an uproar on social media with fans of both artists taking sides.

The question is will the King of Rap take on a life of its own similar to the King of R&B debate?

Gucci even disqualified Jay-Z from the crown as well. He said, “He from up top so that cancels him out to me. I’m from Atlanta, how am I going to say JAY-Z? It would be dumb as hell!”
