West Coast rapper Game is tired of seeing the same trend. The hip-hop veteran has come forward to speak out on the slaying of unarmed black man Ryan Twyman around his hometown.
The Los Angeles native went to Instagram Thursday with a must-read message centered on Ryan’s life getting taken away at the hands of law enforcement.
According to reports, the horrific shooting took place last week just outside of Compton.
Los Angeles Police shot and killed Ryan Twyman around 7:30 p.m yesterday in the parking lot of an apartment complex located on 132nd and San Pedro. A vigil was held this evening in honor of Twyman, and was also attended by Black Lives Matter Los Angeles. Twyman was in the car with another male and his girlfriend when they were approached by police. It is still unclear what led to the shooting. According to Black Lives Matter who has been in touch with the family, Twyman’s friend and girlfriend were taken into custody following the shooting. (Slauson Girl)
An investigation is currently taking place to find out what ultimately sparked the fatal run-in.
According to Black Lives Matter, Twyman’s friend was badly beaten and Twyman’s girlfriend was also taken into custody. “During that contact with two individuals, a deputy-involved shooting occurred,” the deputy added. “One individual was struck in the upper torso and later was pronounced dead at the scene.” Twyman’s death was the third officer-involved shooting of the night and no firearm was discovered at the scene.
