French Montana Says Jay-Z is Still ‘King of NY’ Not Tekashi 6ix9ine

When you get hot in Hip-Hop from New York the “King of NY” tag is quick to be attached to your name. French Montana is not here for none of that talk and lets it be known you cannot be the king as long as Jay-Z is alive.

Throughout his rise to stardom, Tekashi 6ix9ine has often referred to himself as the King of the city. French visited the Bootleg Kev show and while he does respect a lot of people who are working hard in Hip-Hop from the Big Apple, he makes it known that it’s still Hov’s house.

“First of all, you can’t say you the King Of New York when Jay-Z’s still alive. I feel like where he at, he reminds me of me and Max B during out Coke Wave days,” Montana shared.

In 2018, Hov released his joint album, Everything is Love, with Beyonce and remained sharp throughout it and additional features. The album followed his stellar 4:44, which came a year prior.

Montana would go on to detail advice from Fat Joe to he and Max, along with additional details in his interview that you can check out below.
