Eminem Buys Out Detroit Movie Theater For New “Bodied” Movie

Bodied Movie Trailer

Grammy-winning rapper Eminem really wants Motown to come out tomorrow. The hip-hop star has bought out a theater in his Detroit hometown for fans to come through to see his new Bodied movie.

Em went to social media Thursday (November 1) to announce his unexpected gesture and encouraged followers to see the movie Friday and Saturday night.

The movie even sparked a big co-sign from G-Unit boss 50 Cent who hyped up the new release.

Last month, Em delivered an explicit sneak peek which featured Berkeley graduate student Adam Merkin experiencing an up-close look at just how much intensity goes into battle rapping.

Produced by Eminem and directed by Joseph Khan, one of the biggest music video directors of all time (from Wu Tang Clan to Taylor Swift), “Bodied” is a go-for-the-jugular, hilarious look inside the competitive world of rap battles. Berkeley grad student Adam Merkin (Calum Worthy; “American Vandal,” “Austin & Ally”) gets sucked into the game after meeting icon Behn Grym (Jackie Strong; BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood”) and accidentally competing in—and winning—his first battle. Rising through the ranks of the battle scene with his provocative insults, Adam alienates his academic buddies, uptight girlfriend, and literary professor father (Anthony Michael Hall).

The new movie officially hits theaters tomorrow (November 2) in select cities.
