Drake Announces New Album Plans For 2019

OVO Sound boss Drake doesn’t like waiting around too long. Months after dropping his chart-topping Scorpion album, the hip-hop heavyweight has promised to soon start production on its immediate follow-up.

New footage has emerged of Drizzy last night (November 7) breaking the news to a jam-packed Canada crowd.

“Okay, six shows left. I guess, you know, I guess – I’m gonna tell you what I’m going to do. Because I keep having nights like this that remind me why I love my job so much, I promise you that as soon as this tour is over and maybe I take a little break, I’m gonna get right to work on a new album so we can be back right here in Edmonton and have a new party.”

A few weeks ago, Drake’s rap rival Pusha-T appeared to take a shot at him releasing Scorpion as a double album.

“The idea of everybody putting like 25 tracks on an album to get the streams up, it’s such a poverty way of like cheating to me.” (Red Bull Academy)

In early July, Pusha reflected on his Drake dispute and promised to listen to his Scorpion album.

“He said what he said, I said what I said, now it’s done. It stayed how it was supposed to stay, just words,” grins Pusha. “It was definitely good for hip-hop. What has been more energetic than this?” On Drake’s new album, Scorpion, he addresses Pusha’s revelations about his child with the lyrics: “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid.” Will he give it a listen? “Hell yeah! I gotta have something to compare Daytona to, don’t I?” he says. (The Guardian)
